Izzi Orthodontics

1351 Smith St #103, North Providence, RI 02911

Dr. Jason Izzi is passionate about the field of orthodontics and being able to improve the health and well being of others. He grew up with a medical background. His father is an orthopedic surgeon, who for 40 years has practiced medicine in the same location Dr. Izzi now shares.

Growing up with my father I saw many examples of how his studies and hard work gave him the skills to help others. I took that very seriously throughout my dental education and still enjoy the aspect of medicine that allows me to continually learn and improve my skills for the benefit of my patients.

Dr. Izzis brother Joseph followed in their father's foot steps and now practices orthopedics with their father. Dr. Jason Izzi chose to pursue a career in dentistry. He spent ten years in Boston completing the necessary degrees. First becoming a general dentist and then spending an additional two years to become an orthodontist.

The best thing about practicing orthodontics is the ability to share in the rewards of treatment with your patients. After the braces are removed, its sometimes dramatic how much an adolescents confidence improves with their new smile. Adult patients always take great satisfaction in fixing their problems and finally achieving that perfect alignment they had been looking for.

After completing his education Doctor Izzi moved back to Rhode Island. He opened three practices in the areas where he and his families had grown up. It is with great satisfaction that he now uses what he learned to serve those communities.

Izzi Orthodontics - General dentist in North Providence, RI

Dr. Izzi completed his undergraduate degree at Boston College. He then received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University where he was awarded a merit scholarship. For his orthodontic education, he attended Boston University and completed two years of study in orthodontics and craniofacial orthopedics. At Boston University he studied under Dr. Anthony Gianelli. Dr. Gianelly was a world-renowned lecturer, author of several textbooks on orthodontics, and founder of the bi-dimensional technique. Dr. Izzi now practices that technique along with several others to provide the most efficient treatment possible.

Dr. Izzi grew up in Lincoln, Rhode Island and lived in North Providence for ten years before moving to North Kingstown in 2008. Outside the office, Dr. Izzi likes to spend time with his wife, Kimberly, their children, Santino and Jayci, and their two dogs and two cats.

Don't worry! Braces aren't nearly as scary as you may think. In fact, braces today come in a variety of styles, materials, and colors, making life with braces much easier, more comfortable, and even more stylish than in the past.

  • Early treatment Early treatment allows orthodontists to monitor the growth of the jaw and recommend further orthodontic treatment if it becomes necessary. Not everybody receives early orthodontic treatment; in some cases it may be recommended that a patient wait to receive treatment.
  • What needs correction The amount of treatment needed to correct a problem will determine how long the process takes. Different patients react to treatments differently. While it may take one patient only 12 months to complete treatment, it may take another patient 24 months. Treatment times can vary depending on how quickly your body responds and how much work is needed to give you the show-stopping smile you expect.
  • YOU! Your willingness to use the appliances your orthodontist gives you plays a major role in the length of time it takes to complete your treatment. Always remember to take care of your braces and appliances; this truly will help make your treatment shorter!
  • Orthodontic braces are a big part of life for many people your age. While braces may have had a bad reputation in the past, today's braces make it easy to look good and feel good! Please contact our practice to schedule your next orthodontic checkup.

Orthodontic treatment is no longer just for teens. In fact, the American Association of Orthodontists states that one in five orthodontic patients is over the age of 21. Many adults are choosing to receive treatment because they understand the importance of maintaining their health, and they want to feel better about their appearance. Adults everywhere are taking advantage of the opportunity to receive orthodontic care, and now you can too.

For many adults, the thought of having metal braces is enough to discourage them from receiving treatment. However, today's orthodontic treatment options offer a variety of braces and appliances that are comfortable, aesthetic, and customized to meet your needs. Types of braces include:

The main difference to remember when treating adults or children and teens, is that in younger patients the jawbones are still developing. For adults, these bones have stopped growing, which may mean the possibility of orthognathic surgery to align the jawbones. Other differences include:

  • Gum or bone loss (periodontal disease) Adults are more likely than children to experience gum recession or even bone loss due to gingivitis or advanced periodontal disease. Patients with straighter teeth are less likely to get gum disease.
  • Worn or missing teeth Over time teeth can become worn down and shift into different positions that can only be corrected with orthodontic care. Missing teeth can cause other teeth to shift and tilt, creating a bad bite and increasing the possibility of gum disease.
  • Incomplete orthodontic treatment as a teen Many adults received some orthodontic treatment as a child or teen, but never completed their treatment. As an adult, they choose to complete their orthodontic treatment to achieve the healthy, beautiful smile they always wanted.
  • Our practice also recognizes that adults and children have different needs, and require a different level of attention and care. We will work with you to ensure that you receive the most appropriate treatments, and that your needs are met with understanding and respect from us.

Both of my girls see Dr Izzi for their orthodontic work and he is the best. He makes you feel comfortable from the very first appointment. He takes the time to explain things and ensures all of our questions are answered. I would highly recommend anyone to go to Dr Izzi!

*DO NOT USE THIS ORTHODONTIST!!* My daughter was scammed into getting Invisalign. They never fit right and Dr. Izzy did nothing but ignore her. Now my daughter has to get braces. This dentist got paid for nothing but terrible service and faulty Invisaligns. He also over charged my insurance companies, he was over paid. What a scam!!!

I was given poorly fitted retainers and told to 'just use them like that at night; You'd get used to it'. The retainers kept slipping even with my mouth closed. Thankfully I knew something was wrong. If I didn't speak up, they'd have let me walk away and charged me $225. Rude front desk staff also.

Jason Izzi incorrectly diagnoses my Invisalign case. Upon completion of my treatment with him, I was seen by another orthodontist who identified an overbite that could lead to significant long-term degradation of my teeth. Also, he charged me $3990 for a n "Invisalign Lite" case which only allows for 1 additional adjustment within the cost. It is taking me -- at minimum -- 20 more adjustments to correct my issues. That would have resulted in at least another $3990 payment to Izzi's office. He also refused a final visit with me to discuss my new diagnosis and wouldn't answer my questions that specifically asked about it. Lesson learned: always get a second opinion when it comes to Invisalign treatments.

Dr. Izzi is awesome, I came here for braces and I must say it was a great experience. I never had any problems with my braces, staff is beyond nice and makes you feel like family, office is very organized and most importantly very clean. Every office visit I've had with Dr. Izzi was always quick and easy but I could tell he always took him time to make sure the braces were comfortable and he would always ask if I was having any problems with them. Holly his assistant is very great as well, great personality and very gentle while working on your teeth. Excellent crew and I would recommend Dr. Jason Izzi to anyone getting braces, Invisalign or any other services he has to offer.

Dr. Izzi is the best Orthodontist and Dentist! He sees all 3 of my children for dentistry and orthodontic care. I was given options for treatment and payment plans through a lengthy discussion to decide what is best for my boys. Dr. Izzi has also been available for any "emergency trips or questions". We love Dr. Izzi

Went in for an initial consult. After examining my teeth for about 10 seconds, Dr. Izzi told me I needed to have 4 teeth removed and that braces were my only option. I went to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion, and both told me I only needed at most 1 tooth removed and I could also get Invisalign or a combined braces/Invisalign system. Do yourself a favor and get a 2nd opinion. Most orthodontists in RI will take photos of your teeth, x-rays, and give you a thorough examination complete with payment options.
