Dr. Ivan Salmons is pleased to be able to offer excellent dentistry in Sioux City and the communities in Northwest Iowa, Northeast Nebraska, and Southwest South Dakota. He opened his practice in 1980 at 1855 Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City, IA.
Dr. Salmons grew up in Charles City, Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa as an undergraduate, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He also attended University of Iowa College of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Science degree.
After graduation, he entered into military service as a captain practicing dentistry for the Army stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. He has continued his dental education by completing numerous postgraduate courses in orthodontics and is a member of the American Orthodontic Society (AOS). He has grown his practice through new dental innovations and technology, such as low-radiation digital radiography (X-rays), that allow him to provide his patients with faster and more comfortable dental care.
He is very involved in the Sioux City community. In his spare time, he has a passion for historic restoration and was a board member on the Sioux City Historic Preservation Commission. Dr. Salmons has served as president of the Sioux City Dental Society. He is married with a son and daughter and is a proud grandfather of four beautiful and talented grandchildren: Ellie, Gabriel, Chloe, and Tyler. When not working, he loves spending time restoring his 1950 Ford convertible.
Dr. Salmons believes quality care starts with quality people, and he feels particularly fortunate to work with his outstanding team. They are not only extremely competent, but unusually warm and friendly. Hes certain youll notice the difference this makes from your very first visit!
Anne Bales Dental Assistant Office Manager Anne, who has achieved not only Registered Dental Assistant and Certified Dental Assistant but also Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certifications, has been with our practice for 12 years. The mother of twin 16-year-old daughters, a 4-year-old son, and a dog named Buddy, Anne enjoys being outside and watching her twins play varsity basketball.
Marisa Knop Dental Assistant Marisa, who has been with our practice for five years, also has her RDA and CDA certifications. She and her husband, Tanner, are celebrating the recent birth of their son. They also have two black Labs, Stormy and Nova. Marisa enjoys Husker football, crafting, and bonfires.
Kourtney Rieken Dental Assistant Front Office Kourtney is a Registered Dental Assistant. She and her fianc, Chad, have two boys. When shes not working, she loves watching her boys play baseball, play football, and wrestle. She also enjoys being outside and watching Hawkeye football.

If I could put a negative star I would give -5 stars. First the staff are all rude and snobby. 2nd the work done was poorly performed. Went in for crowns and they were not correctly done. My smile was beautiful before I went in and when they finished it was horrible. Crowns were not pushed up all they way and were crooked. Now 2yrs later one tooth broke off because real tooth under crown was grinded down to short and since they were not pushed up all the way their was a gap that ate away at my tooth. So now it will cost me $6000 to fix everything they did wrong. This place is not worth the headache or hassle. So 5 star rating my a**.

Dr Salmons & his staff are the best!!! They make going the dentist an easy thing to do!!! They are all so friendly!!! A person feels good as soon as they walk in!!! Thank you so much for your expertise & being so gentle with the procedures I've had done there!!!!

The Doctor is great and always walks you through what he is doing. The hygienist are wonderful and friendly. They send in all the required paperwork to your insurance and take care of what they need. I would definitely recommend!
