Dr. Lauren Van Gemert (Dr. Lauren as she prefers to be called) loves orthodontics! She strives for perfection in each smile that she creates and is dedicated to helping her patients love their smile. Dr. Laurens favorite part about practicing orthodontics is getting to know each of her patients personally, as well as watching their transformation throughout the orthodontic process.
Dr. Lauren grew up in southeast Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. After college, she continued to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D.D.S.), finishing first in her class of 111 students.
After dental school, Dr. Lauren moved to Dallas, Texas to begin her orthodontic residency at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry, which is widely known as one of the top orthodontic programs in the country. During her 34 months there, she was involved in research, teaching, and earned both a Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Science (M.S.).
Dr. Lauren finally settled in Spokane, where she lives with her husband, Mark, their son, Brady, and their two yellow Labrador retrievers, Aggie and Moose. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, biking, and playing with her two pups.
Further demonstrating her commitment to advancing her expertise in orthodontics, Dr. Lauren is also an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Spokane District Dental Society, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society) and serves a member of the Spokane Craniofacial Review Board.

We are on our second round of braces here and have had a great experience. The staff is welcoming and kind. They have been helpful when we have had questions, concerns, or broken brackets. My son really enjoyed the candy wall when his braces came off.

Dr. Van Gemert and her team are absolutely amazing! The office atmosphere is relaxed, clean and welcoming. The awesome and gentle assistants kept me well informed through the procedures. The program they use is high tech: I loved being able to see the before and after digital model of my teeth at my initial appointment. Dr. Van Gemert is highly knowledgeable and has a genuine and fun personality. Doc was open about options and I felt my treatment was completely personalized. I had plenty of time/room to ask questions and never felt rushed or pressured. It is easy to see everyone is happy to work there, and that says a lot. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking to improve their smile!

They had an amazing assistant and doctor. They were very professional and very knowledgeable. The entire staff was amazing like they were on top of everything from the moment I arrived till the moment I left. The office looked very neat and organized. Dr Lauren is wonderful. She is patient and kind. The treatment plan was well laid out and I always felt informed about my sons progress. My son was so excited to fill his candy container after his braces were removed. Highly recommended!

As a working dad being able to get in and out without long wait times is imperative and iSmile nails it! My son needed braces and iSmile has been FANTASTIC with him!
