Heres some great information about our digital X-rays! Our X-Rays are synced to our dental practice management software to enable more ease of viewing. Our digital X-Ray sensors enable us to read and analyze the X-rays at a faster rate and with more clarity than traditional X-Ray film. We are focused on providing the latest & greatest tools for our patients!

Digital X-Ray Advantage #2 X-ray image enhancement Clarity and detail are crucial in dental imaging. Digital X-ray equipment provides image quality that can surpass traditional film, displaying tiny fractures and imperfections that might have been missed on film. This improves our ability to detect disease and its current state. They also provide immediate visuals so you can also understand your diagnosis.

Digital X-Ray Advantage #3 Less time and no more lost images Digital X-rays also reduce the long processing time of conventional radiography to seconds. X-ray images are instantly stored and ready to view on our computers. If we need to send an X-ray to your insurance company or another specialist, we can easily e-mail the X-rays without worrying about losing the images, as is the risk with film X-rays. We can send the images immediately to your specialist or insurance company while you are at the office.

Have questions/concerns about dental X-Ray exposure? Many patients are concerned about dental X-rays radiation exposure and safety. Dr Gunita Singh and our staff are very willing to answer your questions or concerns about dental X-Ray exposure.

Why do we take dental X-ray? To view cavities (tooth decay) that can develop between teeth or under existing fillings (restorations) Evaluation of potential diseases in the bone To evaluate for potential Periodontal (gum) disease To view infections that have developed under the gum tissue To determine if one may have some type of oral tumor To observe how childrens teeth and jawbone are developing Evaluate injuries to teeth or surrounding tissues

Safety of Dental Radiographs Some people worry about the safety of dental radiographs, but the amount of radiation used to obtain dental X-rays is minimal. Bitewing radiographs usually two to four X-ray are about 0.005mSv (milisieverts) which is very minimal compared to environmental radiation people are exposed to on a yearly basis. Radiation is part of our environment, and on average a person is exposed to 3.2mSv. Our practice follows the ALARA principle As Low As Reasonably Achievable when taking radiographs. We use the proper equipment and testing to ensure the safety of our patients. As well, we take the minimal amount of X-rays for proper diagnosis. We take X-rays based on your oral examination, symptoms that you report, age, risk of oral disease, health history, or any of these combining factors.

Phung cleaned my teeth today and I also had my x-rays taken. Phung is a very thoughtful hygienist and was concerned about making the cleaning comfortable. Dr. Singh while being thorough about the dental exam is very engaging in conversation

I came to Dr. Singh by an unusual route. I was told by a dentist in New York state that I needed to see an endodontist. I remembered the name of one near my home in Maryland. Since my Maryland dentist had retired, the endodontist said, "I'll give you the name of a really good dentist near you," and gave me the name of Dr. Singh. After several years of care by her and her staff, I have been entirely satisfied.

I had an excellent experience at iSmile Family Dentistry. Dr. Singh and her staff were personable, professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Singh identified the cause of my recurring tooth pain that had baffled two other dentists. She clearly explained a treatment plan including options, and promptly replies to my questions.

Very comfortable routine visit. Staff saw that my neck was uncomfortable when tilted in the chair and obtained a pillow to help me be comfortable in the chair. Dr. Singh performed a thorough exam after hygienist was done with cleaning. I left with clean, shiny teeth.

Dr Singh and her partner have helped me on numerous occasions to identify the root problem of a cracked crown and potential underlying tooth problem with work done by another dentist/endodontist - I trust them explicitly and can't thank them enough for their diligence in resolving my issues. Mary Anne, the receptionist, and the dental assistant are also super friendly, professional, and helpful!

Our whole family loves this dentist. Dr. Singh is excellent. My husband and I needed extensive work done after years abroad and it was always well done. She doesn't do unnecessary work but keeps an eye on potential problems. Communication is great. The staff are always warm and welcoming and our experience is very positive!

Dr. Singh's iSmile took over the dental practice of the late John Lippert, who was my family's dentist for many years. The transition was smooth, and Dr. Singh has worked hard to maintain the same patient care standards that Dr. Lippert had established, especially during the pandemic. Dr. Singh and her dental hygienists do a fantastic job of cleaning and filling, ensuring that patients are always comfortable and informed. And Mary Ann, the administrator at the front desk, has always been very efficient and helpful in navigating dental health insurance. My wife and I highly recommend this practice.

Excellent in every respect. Visit started on time. Covid protocols every step of the way. Efficient knowledgeable staff. The same staff that has been with the practice for many years. Have been using this team for more than 25 years. Another visit with nothing but the same superb service and care.
