Dr. Douglas Melgar graduated from one of the most prestigious Universities in El Salvador and Mexico, where he became a Doctor of Dental Surgery with a specialty in Orthodontics. After immigrating to the US, he submitted his State Board at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California, and obtained his license from the Dental Board of California.
He found interest in the practice of Implant Dentistry. For that reason, He decided to study at the Implant program offered at the University of Loma Linda in California. Upon completion in 2013, Dr. Melgar has been placing Implants of the most prestigious brand in the US (Straumann, Biohorizons) in the San Pablo Community.

I came in for a cleaning, chipped tooth and filling replacement back in January. Knowing the insurance through my husband's plan was changing for us on February 1st and our FSA account would also change, losing all unused funds we both made appointments and were both scheduled to come back for everything other than the cleaning. He was able to complete services before 2/1 and I was not. I was told by the office admin that I could prepay for my upcoming services so that I did not have to forfeit my FSA funds and secure the work still needing to be done. Neither procedure of mine was dire and we spoke about the option to wait until I had all info needed with our new insurance if needed. When I came in for my filling replacement, we never spoke about any updates on my insurance or that I'd have to pay out of pocket for this service. In fact, I needed to come back for my chipped tooth. Which I did the following week. Again, nothing was mentioned about my insurance or FSA payment. I then get a call saying they were unable to bill my insurance and that I'd have to pay over $600 for these two appointments. I reminded them of the details from my initial appointment and that I would've waited for both appointments had I been informed I'd be charged out of pocket. We have discussed these details again several times since then and I just received a statement showing I'm late to pay. This is absurd and an unethical way to conduct business. Your mistake should not equal my financial burden. I only moved forward immediately with my appointments based on your assurance and expressed that I'd gladly wait if it became a difficult process to proceed in the way your office guided me. If nothing else, this total charge needs to be split in half for misleading me on services rendered when I was told I was paid in full before being serviced.

I really love the front desk...she is very accommodating & very sweet (Numbia - so sorry, the spelling) also the hygienist Alma (she comes every month) forgive me with the names on the staff LOL. Dr. is very knowledgeable and did a exam and looked at my xrays. I can't wait for my cleaning

Iv been going here for years and just love Nubia who runs the front office and The Dentist... forgive me for forgetting his name but he is awesome! he gave me more than a denture he is an artist! My smile is beautiful and doesn't look fake at all like my last dentist.
