Dr. Steve Irwin has been practicing dentistry in Orange County since 1991. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University. He did his undergraduate work at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and in London, England at the University of England to receive his BS degree in Human Biology. He has special interest in orthodontics, dental implants, & cosmetic smile enhancement.
A hallmark of his practice is the friendliness and professionalism of his staff. He's also the 4th generation to serve the Whittier/La Mirada area. He practiced with his father (also a dentist) for 15 years before his retirement in 2004. His grandfather was a pharmacist, & his great grandfather a cement contractor that laid some of the original streets & sidewalks in this area.
He lives with his wife Melanie, triplet boys Jared, Caleb, & Ethan, daughter Ella - and their two golden retrievers, Maddie & Max. He's active in their local church, and when he's not spending time with his family - he enjoys playing piano, running, surfing, & trail-bike riding.
Our back office team is here to assist the Doctor with procedures as well as help the patient understand their treatment. Our friendly clinical team will gladly answer any questions you may have about the condition of your mouth and the treatments available to you. In addition to explaining your oral condition, our clinical team will provide you with helpful homecare tips.

First visit here and of course I came in the wrong door, but they were very welcoming they were having a team meeting so I felt welcomed with everyone greeting. Had a moment to talk to DR. Irwin got to know me a little. That to me is the most important talk about great service. Taking my x rays to doing my cleaning all amazing. I still do feel an anxiety going to the dentist but this visit I didn't feel so anxious about it. Great team in general.

I've been a patient at Irwin Dentistry for 45+ years! They have a friendly and caring staff who make their patients feel at ease! The office has the latest and updated equipment. Dr. Irwin is a professional who takes excellent care of his patients with such gentleness!

I was in so much pain I had new insurance that I had gotten just before covid and I hadn't used it yet so I didn't know if I was covered I must have called half a dozen. Dentist that morning and no one returned my call except doctor Iwins office they work so hard to try to find out if I was covered in to get me in. Unfortunately I never got a chance to see dr Irwin by the time my husband came home from work he took me to emergency it turns out I have a massive sinus infection they gave me Phantom toothache. all the dentist I called that morning no one returned my call except dr. Irwin's office and they worked all day to try to get a hold of my insurance which apparently was down for updating it took several hours by the time they got a hold of my insurance though I was at hospital. But they kept going and they found out if I was covered I was so impressed with all the work they put in on my behalf not knowing if I was even going to be a patient I want to thank everyone at dr. Irwins office for being the only ones there for me that morning and the only ones who tryed to help me I plan to see dr. Irwin for all my future Dental needs as soon as I get over this nasty sinus infection I want to say thank you so much to all the staff at dr. Irwin's office and hope to see you all soon thank you. Dr. Irwin you have a great staff.

I have been going here since I was very young (about 20 years) and my parents have been going here for even longer! I no longer live in the state but will schedule appointments when I visit (that's how much I trust them).They are incredibly thorough and professional. They've taken care of every problem we have ever had with integrity. They are always very thoughtful and do an amazing job! Thank you to Dr. Erwin and amazing staff!

I've been coming here for almost 15 years. The staff always greets you and makes you feel welcome. For my appointments, I am always seated within 5 minutes of arrival. They always do their best to make you feel comfortable while getting work done. They have tv to watch, glasses to block out the light, and even offer headphones now. Dr. Irwin always stops by to say hello and ask about my family and I, even though I know he has plenty of work to get done. All around this place is great.

Excellent and friendly staff. I've needed more frequent cleanings and treatment than usual due to my particular issues, and so I have seen the hygienists on shorter intervals than might be typical. They have been top notch and have really helped keep more serious problems in check.
