I came to see if anyone else experienced what I did today and I see at least two reviews mentioning the cost Never in my life did I pay for a routine visit. Especially with the high coverage I have and pay for. I was shocked when I was told the OOP cost after the visit. Knowing the cost of a visit should be explained before services rendered so there aren't any surprises Yes, the facility was nice, it was thorough exam for my daughter and I but nothing that special where I would go back again. It's my fault for not realizing they were out of network even with the coverage I have I should have double checked I will not be going back again. There are too many dentist in the area that provide the same care and don't overcharge. What's the point of having insurance if you're constantly paying double?

Everyone in the office is friendly and a delight...From the receptionist, office staff, dental hygienist, and Dr. Raman. Every employee is courteous, friendly and professional. They always take the time necessary to do everything right. They always treat you like family. Beautiful, clean, state of the art office. Great dental experience!

I've learned a very expensive lesson by having work done here and will NEVER go back. What a scam. I wish I could give negative stars.

My family and I have been patients at Irmo Smiles for over 6 years. Overall, everybody is very friendly. I have noticed over these 6 years, I have a balance literally every single time I go into the office. I have insurance that covers 100% of routine dentistry. After speaking to my insurance today, they stated that an out of network dentist can charge basically what they want for any work and the insurance will cover 100% of the allowable amount. Funny thing is, Irmo Smiles is out of network with EVERY insurance company. Now I see why. They are able to get their money from the insurance and then also get paid extra money from the patients. Not saying that is illegal as you have a right to charge what you want, but it is a very dishonest practice and after 6 years, My family and I have had enough. We just visited Irmo Smiles during the last time yesterday. Also, my wife and I have never had cavities before and since we've been with them, I've had at least 5 and my wife has had some. Not to mention the "sealant" that they push on us knowing it won't be covered at all. Over the last 6 years, we have paid over $4,000 out of pocket for mostly routune dentistry. We have had enough and we are taking our business elsewhere. .

I had my first appointment with Irmo Smiles several weeks ago and the dental service received was superb, however the customer experience was extremely off putting. As a first time client, I was immediately pitched about their referral program and how each person I referred would get me a ticket into a drawing. (focused on me bringing in other people, not on retaining my business) I understand the reason for the "sales pitch," however I have yet to even experience their service so I have no reason to wish to refer yet. I believe this pitch should be saved to the end of the exam. Something like, "If you had a great experience today, please consider referring friends or family for a chance to win this drawing." They were extremely pushy for referrals before I have even been their patient. They then proceeded to give me a couple of small items (decent cooler bag) and a tour of the facilities. (a very clean and high quality facility) The constant comment was about how many exam rooms they had so that they could "accommodate all of my referred friends and family." (again another pitch to bring more clients, but nothing to retain my business yet) The exam and cleaning with the hygienist was probably the most thorough examination I have ever experienced (it was truly a five-star experience). They performed four different diagnostic tests to determine any cavities or issues with your teeth. I was very impressed as this and had never experienced dental care that thorough from any other dentist. They mentioned that they had a variety of hospitality services to offer during the exam, such as, TV, sunglasses, headphones, bottled water, etc. However, there was never a moment that I was asked if I wanted any of those services. I will take blame that I should have spoken up and asked for the TV to be turned on or the bottle of water, but I wasn't sure when to ask since it was never actually offered. During the exam I was constantly badgered by the hygienist, from beginning to end, that I needed to floss more and how bad I was for not flossing more. Comments such as, "it is awful you haven't flossed more," "this would hurt less if you flossed more," and "if you don't want it to hurt, you need to do better about flossing, otherwise it's gonna hurt next time." (I would have preferred to have been encouraged to floss rather than told how bad I was for having not done it enough) The end of the exam was again followed by another pitch to get me to refer friends and family. I understand they need more customers to generate more revenue, however I would rather the focus be on me before turning to who else I can bring. It felt like I was constantly sitting through an advertisement to bring more customers to them. Not the customer experience I desire. I am your customer- impress me first, then I will refer because you treated me so well, not a constant sales pitch to bring others to your office. Quality of dental care- a true five-star experience Quality of customer care- a one-star experience in my book. They are very capable of providing a better experience, and this is based on one visit. I am sure others have had a better experience than mine. Will I go back? Probably Will I refer others? Not actively

I went to Irmo Smiles and had a root canal and got a crown. The crown fell out 3 times (once every couple of months) and was reseated twice, on the third time it fell out it also cracked in half. I was told to come in and have it reseated again and that their work was guaranteed. I waited a month for my appointment because that was the only availability and when I came in I was told it would be $5000 to have it repaired and reseated again. Do not give Irmo Smiles your business!! Their work is poor quality, they do not guarantee their work, and they lie to you. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist!

I've been going to another dentist but I felt I wasn't fully satisfied. So I decided to give these guys a try . My first visit I knew I was in the right place. My second visit confirm it, Karen was amazing and my smile has never looked better. So glad I made the switch. Highly recommended hands down

Front desk is extremely rude and unwelcoming. She was argumentative and felt the need to be right about everything. My family won't be returning. We don't live in the area and due to how long it took to find my insurance information I was not seen.

I emailed at the end of November AND called just recently to find out if they were in network with TriCare and Delta Dental because I feel like my current dentist isn't helping me. No return email and no return call for the voicemail I left. Every time I try calling, there's no answer. I suppose it's back to researching local dentists.

Took good care of the kids. Not good care of the ones who pay the bills. Handling of insurance was non-existent. Not a good experience for the parents.

Edit: I used to be satisfied with Irmo Smiles, but up until recently, I realised how poorly made my crown was. I have a molar crown made by another dentist and it's superb; I've had it for years and years with no fractures. My molar I got from Irmo Smiles cracked twice; the first time, they fixed it but the second time my insurance didn't even cover it because they don't cover crowns younger than ten years-old, why? Because crowns shouldn't break twice in two years. I'm not some aggressive power-chewer who's chewing on rocks. I've done nothing different with the broken crown as I did with the awesome crown I got from my previous dentist. The newer dentist tried to justify the crown by saying something along the lines of: "You do a lot of chewing so cracks are bound to happen"...what? My crown should not be breaking AGAIN after two-three years! Simple. The frustrating part is I have two crowns from them so it's only a matter of time until the other breaks. Very disappointed. They tried to orchestrate a payment plan with me, which is preposterous, considering it was their screw-up for the second time.

I have been seeing Dr Misti since she started her practice here. I see Crystal now but have been seen by most all her staff. Its like visiting family . They are always friendly, caring, professional and sometimes funny. I like them all and have never had a bad experience. Its a very relaxing environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dental office that you actually like to go to and I have found their work outstanding .
