Irish Dental on Hilton Head Island is owned by Dr. Kevin Hardy, an experienced family dentist. Dr. Hardy provides comprehensive cosmetic and restorative dental care and works with each patient to develop an effective preventive routine to ensure long-lasting and successful results.
Dr. Hardy grew up in Danville, Virginia, a small town in the southern part of the state right next to the border of North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry where he received his DDS and MBA in 2006. Furthering his dental education, Dr. Hardy received advanced training at the Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on the provision of care to the pediatric and developmentally disabled population. During his time practicing in Cleveland, Dr. Hardy attended the John Marshall College of Law, receiving his JD in 2015. It was also in Cleveland where he met his wife, Shannon, and they were married at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Hardy enjoys all the disciplines of dentistry and has received specialized post-graduate training in implant placement and restoration, TMJ diagnosis and treatment, Invisalign Orthodontics, and is certified by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics in delivering Botox and placing enhancing dermal fillers.
Dr. Hardy believes that your oral health affects your overall health and performs dentistry that is good for the body as well as the teeth and gums. With two published works, The Natural Dentist: Natural Dental Care Remedies and Holistic Dentistry: Natures Guide to a Healthy Smile, Dr. Hardy utilizes this knowledge drawn from the worlds greatest traditions in natural healing to complement the advances in modern science to provide a fully integrative approach.

Dr. Hardy and his team are very professional and yet personal. Very efficient office and clean facility. They provided gentle and excellent care. Good communication also. Highly recommended.

Dr. Hardy and the staff go above and beyond to take care of their patients. I felt comfortable and right at home. The therapy dogs were the sweetest. Great office and dental care!!

Dr Hardy is an excellent dentist number 1. His office staff -Lisa at front desk so attentive checking for you making appointments Dental Insurance etc. Very efficient. DiNora who is in Dental School is excellent. She is certainly a nice addition to the office as an exchange student. Will be an excellent dentist. I broke my front tooth - Lisa got me in right away and Dr hardy did a great job fixing my front tooth. I recommend Irish Dental at the Medical Pavilion Highly.

While the Doctor and staff are very nice, I got 2 fillings there, several months later the fillings popped out and my teeth had continued to decay to almost nothing because he didn't remove all the decay before putting the fillings in. I ended up having to go to a different dentist and pay $2400 for two dental implants, because, again, my teeth had decayed to nothing.

The hygienist at Irish Dental is great; kind, caring, and really good. But the dental assistant didn't wear a mask while working on me on 2 separate occasions. I kindly asked her to because she was breathing into my mouth and nose. She said she doesn't like to wear a mask because it makes her face break out. I guess she doesn't care about passing germs onto her patients. I nicely spoke with the manager, who is the dentist's wife. She didn't seem to care at all and blew me off. I asked her to speak with the dentist about it and she said she would do that and call me back, but of course she never did call me back. I think proper hygiene in a medical office is very important, so I will be finding another dentist.

I had a very difficult tooth extraction due to a very large cavity, strong bones and roots deeper than most. Dr Hardy explained it would not come out easily. He did everything he could to minimize the pain and it was over before i knew it. He was better than an oral surgeon. Im very afraid of dental procedures but im going back for fillings knowing I'm in good hands. Thanks Dr Hardy.

Thank you Dr. Hardy for listening to me and helping me with issues that have bothered me for quite a long time. I was told I needed extensive work to fix my tooth problems but Kevin explained to me that I don't need the invasive work and he fixed tooth pain that has been bothering me for years. I'll be back!
