Dr. Dennis Winter is committed to providing excellence in dentistry, and stands out as a leading dentist in Des Moines. He believes strongly in education to prevent oral health problems before they occur, and continually attends educational courses to learn about the latest technology and ways to make his patients dental visits as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Dennis Winter is a native of Iowa, growing up in a small town northeast of Sumner. He received his undergrad from Iowa State University in 1979, and then attended the University of Iowa school of dentistry where he was president of his class. After graduation. Dr. Winter served his country as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force. He opened his first practice in Denver and spent many years there before opening Iowa Dental Arts in Beaverdale and West Des Moines.
While studying the science of occlusion and conditions such as grinding, clenching, and TMJ in Florida, he met his wife, Dr. Carnovale, whom is also a dentist and was practicing in Rome, Italy at the time.
Dr. Carnovale still operates her dental office in Rome, Italy with several English speaking associates. Dr. Carnovale was born and raised in Rome's Centro Storico (near the Vatican and Pantheon) and enjoys frequent visits to see family and friends.

We have been patients of Dr. Winter ever since Dr. Lowe passed away around eight years bago. He has a very friendly staff and they keeps good records. We appreciate him keeping the Beaverdale location open.

Manager in billing or lady do not know name, she overcharges for things that doctor didnt do, always states insurance is all covered and then sends me a bill, doctor is nice and assistant nurse for the doctor.- the billing lady did not want to provide what insurance is covering etc.

The Dr Winters, Jessica, Ravleen, and the front staff are amazing! They addressed my issues, were able to schedule me the next day and were so incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this office to anyone!

Upon arrival I was greeted and filled out paperwork. It wasn't very long and I was introduced to the to the dental hygienist who was very nice. Everyone there is very informative and makes you feel comfortable! Dr. Winter and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly! My experience was amazing! I have been to West Des Moines and Beaverdale locations and receive the same quality care at both locations!
