About two years ago I had my 3 wisdom teeth removed at this office. I did NOT receive any type of antibiotic after my surgery which is common practice nearly everywhere else. I developed a painful infection, and was told that i "was fine. It's not too bad" when pus was oozing into my mouth. I requested more potent pain killers because I was in so much agony and shockingly they delivered. Because my infection never healed properly and it did infect my sinuses, I have LITERALLY received 2 MORE SURGERIES. Multiple surgeons have told me that I was neglected and they were horrified by the surgical work done. ALWAYS REQUEST ANTIBIOTICS, AND NEVER, EVER GO HERE. Not to mention my insurance just reset at the beginning of the year and my surgery was 2 Januarys ago so we paid out of pocket. A few months later they sent us a refund saying "sorry, our bad!" because the surgeons, receptionists, nurses, and whoever else works here are incompetent. You'd be put to better use working somewhere far, far away from human beings.

Yesterday I had to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed and they were in weird angles and too difficult for my regular dentist to try it. I was very pleased with the staff at Ionia Oral surgery! Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor to the assistants were very nice, happy, pleasant and honestly seemed to care about my appointment. The total surgery only took about 20 minutes and everything went very smoothly. I did have to come back later that day because I wasn't clotting well and they got me in to see the doctor immediately and were very attentive. I will mention though that they sent me home with very detailed instructions on how to care for my wounds but I didn't get too many verbal instructions before I left the office the first time. That being said there was a lot of info to pack in afterwards that the instructions did cover. And they were happy answer any questions I did have! They even called later that day to check in on me and answer any more questions for me. Overall I had a great experience and definitely recommend Dr. Persico and this office to anyone!

We wish we could do NEGATIVE 10.. not even worthy of 1 star. Anyone going here b4 surgery be sure to get signatures, witnesses everything on amt you will owe, they tell you one amt, do the surgery then send you a HUGE bill for exact same work they told you would cost. And to top it off dtill slipped and slit husbands cheek open. My advice run these ppl are very very very dishonest. We were told $1400, we paid in full then got hit with an additional bill for $450.00. Their notices are very very RUDE. I'll also be turning them into the BBC. GOTO Lowell. They are honest!!!

Out of baseless fear I put this appointment off for a year. Had I known that it would be totally painless I would have done it long ago. I had a wisdom tooth and 3 molars removed in just 20 minutes with zero pain or discomfort. Even two days after the procedure I still have no pain. The oral surgeon and the staff were very caring, friendly and professional. Relatively expensive but the cost was still 20% less than one of those big dental centers that I visited. I am 100% happy with my experience at Ionia Oral Surgery!

Awful experience! Spent 2 hours in the lobby and left after nobody ever called me back for appointment. Heading to Grand ledge for appointment. Stay away!
