AIM provides state of the art intraoperative monitoring throughout Oklahoma. Surgeons request AIM services to reduce the potential of surgical risks and increase the chances of a positive outcome for each patient.AIM provides intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) services in all surgical fields that require protection of the central nervous system (brain, facial, spinal cord, and nerves).

AIMs employees are trained extensively in the field. AIM technologists work in the operating room to provide continuous, comprehensive, and real-time information to the surgeon and hospital staff. With the information that the Neuromonitorist relays, the surgeon may alter his or her surgical technique in order to increase the likelihood of a positive outcome. AIM provides our physicians with all the information necessary to make immediate and critical surgical decisions.

Currently, Medsurant Health through its wholly owned subsidiary practices has developed contracts and service agreements with more than 330 hospitals and facilities as well as referral relationships with nearly 900 physicians/surgeons throughout the United States. Staffing consists of MD/DOs and clinical neuromonitorists who have a Bachelors, Masters, Au.D. or PhD degree in the life sciences (neuroscience, biology, bio-engineering audiology, etc.). All clinical staff undergo a rigorous training program, which includes structured didactics and extensive supervised clinical experience that lead to defined competencies.

Medsurant Health offers intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring services to protect neural structures during brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery. By monitoring neural functions, complications can be detected early and action may be taken to reduce or eliminate permanent neural damage.

Neurophysiological monitoring services are performed onsite by a licensed health care provider, or with remote supervision of a neuromonitorist with professional interpretation of the intraoperative test results. Onsite neurophysiological intraoperative monitoring is done on a one-to-one basis. Intraoperative service provision is accomplished with strict adherence to CMS, private carrier and facility guidelines.

Today Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) has become the gold standard of care in most hospitals that provide neurological, orthopedic, vascular and cardiothoracic surgical services. The use of IONM can decrease the risk of paralysis and other complications during critical procedures. Surgeons, hospital administrators and insurance carriers recognize the value, including economic benefits, of high-quality IONM.

IOM allows surgeons to know the neurologic status of a patient throughout the surgical procedure. American Intraoperative Monitorings (AIM) neuromonitorists use sophisticated computer systems to continuously collect data from the nervous system in real time and relay this information to your surgeon. This allows changes in nervous system function to be detected early in order to prevent the possibility of lasting damage. AIM is dedicated to making surgery a safer endeavor for each of our patients.
