Dr. Kearns received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and graduated with honors from New York University College of Dentistry. She received the prestigious Faculty Award for Comprehensive Care by the faculty professors at NYU which is awarded to only one graduate per year. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Kearns also completed a one year post-doctoral residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where she learned to treat patients with more compromised health and with more complex needs. Dr. Kearns also completed a 2 year orthodontic course for the general dentist to gain knowledge in traditional braces and clear aligners. Dr. Kearns practiced with several prosthodontists in Manhattan before relocating to Atlanta. She also associated in Atlanta for several years while looking for the perfect opportunity and location to bring her unique experience and knowledge to the Edgewood Retail Center. Dr. Kearns is dedicated to lifelong learning throughout her career and has joined several local study clubs such as the Hinman Dental Society and the Spear Study Club to continue and improve her own dental education as well as to enhance the ongoing learning of her team at Intown Dental Center. Recently, Dr. Kearns received her Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Fellows of the AGD must earn a minimum of 500 hours of continuing education and pass a rigorous 400 question exam. Only 6% of dentists throughout the United States and Canada have received Fellowships from the AGD. Patients who are under the care of dentists who received their Fellowship can be assured that their dentist is dedicated to remain current and knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry to provide the finest care possible. Dr. Kearns currently lives in Inman park with her family and enjoys local activities around town, walking on the Beltline, and hiking throughout north Georgia.

Unlike most general dentists, Dr. Kearns also completed a one year post-doctoral residency after graduation. She completed this training at the world-renowned Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

After completing her residency, Dr. Kearns took up a position in midtown Manhattan with her attending Faculty Advisor. Subsequently, she spent several years as an associate dentist in a private prosthodontics practice in New York before returning to Atlanta and opening the Intown Dental Center.

She attends dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care.

Pankey dentists are trained to develop advanced technical skills, provide comprehensive and individualized optimal care, and improve their dentistry for more predictable and long-lasting results. Dr. Kearns founded the Pankey Affiliated Learning Group of Atlanta as part of her commitment to life-long learning for her and her team.

Dr. Kearns is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Georgia Dental Association(GDA), the Northern District Dental Society (NDDS), the Hinman Dental Society, the American Orthodontics Society (AOS), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Spear study club, Splint therapy study club, and is a sponsor to her kids schools and local community.

Tania is a dental assistant with our team and enjoys making connections with our patients and helping them improve their smiles. She aims to make everyone feel comfortable during their visits. On her time off, she enjoys hiking, painting and spending time with her family.

Penny started her dental career as a dental assistant 28 years ago and transitioned to learn everything about business of dentistry. She loves to see patients who have transformative smile experiences. She is a Colorado native(go Broncos!), but has been living in Atlanta for over a decade now. When not spending time with her 4 adult children and grandchildren, she enjoys hiking, kayaking at the mountains or on the beach.

Brittany is our awesome front desk assistant! She has been in the dental industry for several years now and works hard to make sure our patients feel comfortable and understand their insurance benefits. She is the first smile you see when you come into our office and the last when you leave. In her free time, Brittany loves traveling and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and daughter, along with their two boxers Arlo and Stitch.
