Interfaith Medical Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the residents of Kings County. The Hospital is dedicated to improving the health of the community it serves and to sustain an environment of excellence where medical, social and rehabilitative services are delivered proficiently, efficiently and effectively. Interfaith offers a range of preventive, diagnostic and treatment services, and educates its community to achieve optimal health outcomes and quality of life.

Psychiatry is a major clinical service. Of the 287 beds in service, 120 beds are allocated for mental health services, 20 beds for drug detoxification and 20 beds for rehabilitation services. Behavioral health is a major service area on the outpatient side as well. During calendar year 2010 approximately 47% of outpatient visits were for mental health and/or chemical dependency services.

IMC operates residency training programs, training 120 residents in the specialties of Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Podiatry, and Ophthalmology. Additionally, Interfaith has Fellowships in Cardiology, Pulmonary and Gastroenterology.

The Community of Central Brooklyn faces serious health care access issues. Interfaith is located in a primary medical care Health Professional Shortage Area as designated by the federal government. The shortage of primary care providers combined with the social problems that plague low income, high poverty communities have led to serious health status consequences for its residents. In Central Brooklyn, the death rate per 100,000 residents is higher by 30% for all causes compared to New York City as a whole.

Access to good medical care helps people prevent illnesses, identify health conditions early, and treat health problems. Some conditions can and should be managed regularly outside the hospital. Higher rates of these avoidable hospitalizations can indicate reduced access to health care in a community. Having a 'medical home' - a personal doctor or other health care provider and a regular place of care other than the emergency department (ED) - is a critical component of good health care access. In the Central Brooklyn, residents are more likely to be without a regular doctor (29%) than those in Brooklyn (23%) and NYC overall (24%). Central Brooklyn residents are also more likely to go to the ED when they are sick or need health advice (13%) than those in Brooklyn and NYC overall (8%).

Interfaith Medical Center's goal is to meet the ever ending needs of our surrounding communities by successfully overcoming language barriers that may hinder your health care experience at our facility. Interfaith Medical Center is also proud to have a multiethnic and multilingual personnel especially in the patient care areas. Amongst them over 50 languages are represented. In addition, a telephone interpreter service is available to provide support in 170 languages twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We understand that people have many reasons for contributing. You may have a firsthand experience at Interfaith Medical Center, or you may simply be interested in the betterment of the facility. Regardless of the size of your contribution or the motivation behind it, we are grateful for your gift.

Getting worse. They over book appointments while not having enough seats... not even for the handicapped or elders. It's hot, dirty, smelly seating area and bathroom. Literally been here for 2 hours have not been seen. TV barely has reception. Phones are never answered. It's terrible

The front desk is very disrespectful. I brought my mother there because she had severe pains in her mouth and needed emergency care and the receptionist wasn't even gonna try to help. My mother was crying from the pain. The receptionist told us that she didn't care and that she was going home. Don't ever come here, even if you're desperate.

Nightmare "experience" at this "dental" office, it is more like an after hours school program for dental students. You will be lucky if real Dentist sees you because there is 1 (ONE) professional for every 5-6 dental students in here (aka you are a lab rat). The waiting period can be anywhere from 3-4 hs if you do not have an appointment and came for an emergency. With an appointment you could still have to wait between 1-2 hs. It is a mess and many employees are rude and do not empathize with the pain and misery of patients. There were 2 mentally insane "patients" pounding walls, screaming, affecting my own mental health and those waiting but staff did NOTHIING to stop it, did not even acknowledge the fact that a very wrong situation was getting out of hands. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SUFFER FURTHER.

Horrible clinic!!! Lack of customer service and empathy. I originally had a scheduled dental appointment for August of 2020 but Mister Yusef at the clinic called to "reschedule." Okay fine no worries, I rescheduled it for September 2020 and got another call from Mister Yusuf that they would have to reschedule me again." They just called me again today to reschedule and left a voicemail addressed to the wrong patient. I'm on my 6th "reschedule" with them just to get my teeth cleaned. It a new year as well. 6 reschedules really? What kind of dental center are you all running here? Definitely would not trust them with my teeth. Next...

I called Wednesday I was like I need to come in I have a bad toothache. They was like it's after 3 we stop taking walking, she was like come tomorrow before 3. So I went in Thursday around 9:30am she was like we don't have any dentist available for emergency right now. As I was about to leave she was like can you come back 1:30pm. The dentist would be in. Mind you I was in so much pain, I decided to go home and come back. I came back around 12:50pm I wasn't seen until 2:30pm. He took X-rays he was like the tooth have to come out it can't be save. I was like okay. He numb the area started to work on my tooth without an assistant to suction the spit I was choking! So he couldn't get the tooth out he called another dentist which was a female. He was just standing there until she was come suction the spit. Then after she finished she left the room. He just give me 2 gaze a paper and ain't say nothing. I had to ask was I done he was like yeah. He did not know what he was doing. When I get his name I will update this.

The woman with the glasses and shorter afro was very rude. She didn't say hello and just said documents. No thank you, please or any warm interactions. I will not return.

The front desk staff, is a bunch of slackers. Unprofessional, literally sit their and do nothing, cause patients to miss appointments (while the patient is literally sitting in the waiting area), has patients sit for long hours Miss or uninformed (as to whether they are going to be seen or not) only for the patient to be told at closing (sitting for over 4hrs) that they will not be seen. The blonde hair short chatty russian "Doctor" is disrespectful. Some of those "Doctors" Including her I really believe is racist. I saw a lady who came straight from work (still in Uniform - State employee) sit in the waiting area for over (4Hrs) only to be told during closing (I was still there with my daughter), that she can not be seen because the surgeon left for the day. That lady sat in the waiting area for over (4Hrs) her son came long after her and was seen, when her son left, the doctors told her (after putting her in a room that they prepared for her) that she will not be seen, because the oral surgeon has left for the day (He left a little after 4pm) Front desk knew she was in the back with her son, but said nothing to her or even told the surgeon that she was there to been seen.

I arrived after 2pm for my 3:30 appointment. I filled out my paperwork. Left and came back after 3pm and no one called me. It's now 4:28pm and I have yet to be seen. People came in after me is seen including new patients who filled the paper work after I did. The bathroom does not have a lock on it. I sat here and saw people opened the bathroom door while the person in the bathroom private parts are expose. No, cups for the water dispenser in the waiting area. It's horrible and the service is the worst I've ever experience.
