Interfaith Medical Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the residents of Kings County. The Hospital is dedicated to improving the health of the community it serves and to sustain an environment of excellence where medical, social and rehabilitative services are delivered proficiently, efficiently and effectively. Interfaith offers a range of preventive, diagnostic and treatment services, and educates its community to achieve optimal health outcomes and quality of life.

Psychiatry is a major clinical service. Of the 287 beds in service, 120 beds are allocated for mental health services, 20 beds for drug detoxification and 20 beds for rehabilitation services. Behavioral health is a major service area on the outpatient side as well. During calendar year 2010 approximately 47% of outpatient visits were for mental health and/or chemical dependency services.

IMC operates residency training programs, training 120 residents in the specialties of Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Podiatry, and Ophthalmology. Additionally, Interfaith has Fellowships in Cardiology, Pulmonary and Gastroenterology.

The Community of Central Brooklyn faces serious health care access issues. Interfaith is located in a primary medical care Health Professional Shortage Area as designated by the federal government. The shortage of primary care providers combined with the social problems that plague low income, high poverty communities have led to serious health status consequences for its residents. In Central Brooklyn, the death rate per 100,000 residents is higher by 30% for all causes compared to New York City as a whole.

Access to good medical care helps people prevent illnesses, identify health conditions early, and treat health problems. Some conditions can and should be managed regularly outside the hospital. Higher rates of these avoidable hospitalizations can indicate reduced access to health care in a community. Having a 'medical home' - a personal doctor or other health care provider and a regular place of care other than the emergency department (ED) - is a critical component of good health care access. In the Central Brooklyn, residents are more likely to be without a regular doctor (29%) than those in Brooklyn (23%) and NYC overall (24%). Central Brooklyn residents are also more likely to go to the ED when they are sick or need health advice (13%) than those in Brooklyn and NYC overall (8%).

Interfaith Medical Center's goal is to meet the ever ending needs of our surrounding communities by successfully overcoming language barriers that may hinder your health care experience at our facility. Interfaith Medical Center is also proud to have a multiethnic and multilingual personnel especially in the patient care areas. Amongst them over 50 languages are represented. In addition, a telephone interpreter service is available to provide support in 170 languages twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We understand that people have many reasons for contributing. You may have a firsthand experience at Interfaith Medical Center, or you may simply be interested in the betterment of the facility. Regardless of the size of your contribution or the motivation behind it, we are grateful for your gift.

I have been calling for over a week to get an appointment. These people refuse to call me back.my child needs to see a dentist. The insurance plan set us up at this place. they send you right to voicemail and never call back. This is unexceptionable. Especially since it involves a child. How are they "interfaith" talk about no faith. The value of care in almost all doctors offices etc have gone down since covid and the excuses are over two years later and they still going with the B's. My kid needs a dentist and offices are ignoring me

I'm so sick of this facility and how they handle certain things. This is a sorry excuse of a dental office.

This review is for the emergency dental walk ins. The experience and care I received was AMAZING, compared to other reviews. Yes there is a wait when you come in emergency, it is a first come first serve thing, but I was the first one there at 7:30am and was seen right when the doctors were in at 9am. The oral surgeons I saw were GREAT, super attentive, presented me with different options, did everything on my wisdom tooth and talked through post care. This is the best you can get when dropping by for emergency rather than waiting months for an appointment at a different clinic.

Definitely plan to sit here for hours if not all day. I am currently waiting to be seen as an emergency walk in and I have been here since 9:30 am, in pain, along with three other people. It is now 2pm and this place is listed as closing at 5pm. There is only one emergency attendant and when they announced at 12pm that they were taking an hour lunch all the patients lost their minds! Screaming, cursing, and attitudes. Thank god I actually took a pain pill before I got here or else I would be like the poor old man sitting here in excruciating pain begging to at least get some medication, only to be ignored and told he had to wait. All the staff just continue to carry on laughing and joking while we sit here hours on end in pain waiting for one dentist. Safe to say I will NEVER come here again or recommend anyone else based off the wait and unprofessionalism and lack of basic decency for patients. An update after finally being seen: They did two X-rays after asking me which tooth I wanted examined. Discovered I needed a root canal. Wasn't seen by the actual oral surgeon; I guess he just looked at the X-ray from another room. Was told I needed to have a new patient exam first, and then depending on my insurances approval, have the root canal. Okay, insurance is calling the shots, got it. However, receptionist tells me she can't give me new Patient appointment because they're not open for that right now. After telling her the reason for needing it, she then obliged and said the next date she can give me is for August 29th! WE'RE IN APRIL! This place is horrible. Would not ever recommend.

This is the best place for kids and young adults in the Spectrum. They know how to treat people who are autistic. They are kind, compassionate, patient and as long as you have an appoiment and come 30-45 miss before you won't have to wait. My som has been coming here for 2 years and they have been nothing but kind to him!!!

Have had a couple appointments here. You will never be seen at the designated appointment time even if you come early. Average wait was a hour to be seen. Plan to waste 2 hours or more here depending on what you need done. First cavity I had filled here dentist didn't give me enough novocaine and wouldn't give me more when it wore off during procedure. Second appointment went well for novocaine and filling. It's a hit or miss with these people it seems. Half the time you will hear screaming children having dental work done. Also due to covid they are doing manual tooth cleanings and it is not as good as the ultrasonic cleaner. Also it can take months to be seen if you aren't already in there system.

Had my wisdom tooth pulled. I was so nervous, but they put me at easy and made me feel comfortable.
