One of Dr. Jonathans main goals through Integrity Dental has been to bring back the personal and quality touch that he feels all patients deserve from their dental experience, but unfortunately seems to have been lost somewhere along the way. At Integrity Dental, youre more than just a number or a patient youre an important part of our dental family, and Dr. Jonathan and his team truly look forward to earning your trust and helping you maintain optimal oral health for years to come.
As an undergrad, he organized a senior research project where he studied the effects that different toothpastes had on the germs in our mouths. He also travelled to Haiti with his younger sister, Alie, and a crew of other biology students, where they worked together to test drinking water sources to make sure they were safe for the families who lived in those communities.
In 2014, he was accepted to the University of New England College of Dental Medicine as part of the 2nd incoming class in the schools history. Thats when he made the move to Portland. The rest, as they say, is history! He fell in love with Maine all of the wonderful people, the landscape, and all of the many places to eat and not to mention his other half.
While he was a student at UNE, he had the privilege of taking part in the Old Port Fest (who here remembers that?), Maine Deaf Culture Festival on Mackworth Island, the Special Olympics Special Smiles programs in Orono and Vermont, Give Kids A Smile Day in Ellsworth, and various other community outreach programs through local schools and the Greater Portland Y.M.C.A. He also proudly helped organize UNEs first ever Miles for Smiles 5K and served as co-founder and President of UNEs Aesthetic Dentistry Organization.
Fluoride is the ionized form of the element Fluorine. Fluorine is naturally-occurring, just like Hydrogen and Oxygen. Its known to increase bone density (meaning it can help make our bones stronger), but perhaps even more importantly its proven to protect teeth from cavities by rebuilding enamel. Thats right it can actually REBUILD your teeth! How amazing is that!? Fluoride is a common ingredient in many toothpastes and mouthrinses, and its even found in most public water supplies. Unfortunately, theres a lot of misinformation out there about Fluoride thats led some people to believe it can be harmful to them and their families. That couldnt be further from the truth. In fact, often the greatest risk lies in not using Fluoride.
FALSE. Fluorosis is a condition where teeth develop harmless white spots as a result of consuming a very, very high amount of fluoride, well beyond the amount of fluoride in your at-home products and in the public water supply.
FALSE. Using fluoridated water is actually one of the least expensive ways to prevent cavities, and can help individuals, families and entire communities save money and time at the dentist by keeping their teeth healthy and cavity free.
FALSE. There have been many studies over many generations supporting the safety of fluoridated water, and not one suggesting it as a cause of cancer or other health concerns like diabetes, heart disease, or kidney problems.
FALSE. Many European (and Latin American) countries do, in fact, utilize fluoridated water, as do most communities in the U.S. Thats because most communities recognize its many benefits and understand the risks of removing it from the water supply.
TRUE. Theres a small amount of Fluoride in toothpaste, which isnt enough to fight cavities. Pairing that amount with the small concentration in the water supply provides maximum defense against cavities.
As you can see, theres nothing to be afraid of when it comes to Fluoride and fluoridated water. Fluoride is your friend and one of your biggest allies, fighting alongside you to help keep your teeth as healthy for years to come!

As usual, I had an excellent experience at Integrity Dental. From the friendly welcome from Jonathan at the front desk, to Dr. Nutt's thorough exam, dynamite cleaning, and clear advice on future dental work, I (a mildly neurotic dental patient) couldn't have asked for a more positive visit. 12/12 molars.

The Dr. was not just extremely professional, but has an incredible amount of compassion and care for his patients. At Integrity Dental you are welcomed to a clean office that doesn't just care about your overall dental health, but about your comfort level. I feel very relaxed going to get any dental work done now. I had mentioned to Dr. Jonathan Nutt that I get nervous with getting my teeth cleaned because of the cleaning tools used at my previous dentist. Dr. Jonathan Nutt was very thorough in explaining the different tools and he made my first cleaning experience at Integrity Dental very comfortable and relaxed. So now I am looking forward to my next cleaning. The staff is also wonderful and you get a good vibe walking in. Thank you Integrity Dental!!

I came for the quality dental care, I stayed for the social hour Ya'll are really sweet kind souls who made me feel cared for. No one likes drills in their mouth, I appreciate dr Jonathan's calm presence putting me at ease. They did everything they could to accommodate me before my moving short notice, and fully patiently explained everything to make sure I understood my experience so grateful. I've been blessed with good dentists in my time but no one else ever specifically asked how to make me feel comfortable. Above and beyond care thank you

Nothing but positive things to say about this practice - such attention to detail and clear focus on creating a positive patient experience. Amazing experience! Everyone at Integrity Dental is kind, attentive, and very professional. They also remember the little details and genuinely care about your well-being. I felt welcomed right away (and less anxious about the procedure). Jonathan was very friendly, thorough, and gentle. He explained everything very clearly and took the time to get to know me. All the reviews are spot on. Could not have had a better experience. I'd been way too long so had/have a bit to deal with. Dr. Nutt is super thoughtful, informative, really puts you at ease. And from what I can tell, all the latest equipment making the experience all the better. Jonathan at the front desk has also been a pleasure. Is it possible to say you look forward to visiting the dentist? With them, yes!

Where to begin..! Integrity Dental is 100% the way dental care should be. From the moment you walk in and see Jon's smiling face welcoming clients, to when you step into the room for your procedure you automatically feel welcome and at ease. Dr. Jonathan Nutt is extremely professional yet makes you feel incredibly comfortable. I went in for an emergency tooth repair after literally eating the pavement playing basketball. Definitely was freaking out about getting Novocain injected in my gums, of course a sensitive area! He made the process more relaxing than I would have ever thought fixing a chipped tooth could be. Dr. Nutt uses techniques that make the process painless and no lie, relaxing. From the calming music played to how knowledgeable and informative Jon and Jonathan are you can't ask for a better place to get to teeth done. Whether you are looking for a new dentist, or have an existing one, looking for a general cleaning or a more in depth procedure, I whole heartedly encourage you to pay Integrity Dental a visit.

This is an incredible dental practice, with kind people who make you feel comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Nutt is very gentle, explains everything he's doing beforehand and mid-process, and checks in often to make you're doing okay. If you're a person like me who is anxious about the dentist (or even if you're not), this is the place you want to be.

Dr. Nutt was the most thorough, informative, patient, and gentle dentist I have ever been to. He takes his time to explain each and every thing he is doing, and does so with care and concern for your comfort. Most Dentists I have been to seem eager to treat you, prescribe future work without discussing pricing or alternative options, and then rush you out the door to treat and bill the next patient. Dr. Nutt is not one of those dentists. He genuinely cares. 10/10 recommend!
