Dr. James Cole is originally from College Station, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University there in 1985, receiving his BS in Biology. He then went on to study for his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry, graduating in 1990. He was an officer in the Indian Health Service from 1990-94, appointed to the New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care for three years, and a trustee to the New Mexico Dental Association. He's been in private practice in the four corners region since 1994.

Dr. Cole is additionally a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and American College of Dentists (only 3% of all dentists in the United States are part of this prestigious group). He's served in several positions with the Northwestern District Dental Society, including two terms as president, and since 2012 he has served as president of the New Mexico Dental Association, an organization of which he's been a member since 2009.

Because he feels it's so important to give back through service, Dr. Cole has been on 9 dental mission trips to Peruvian villages along the Amazon, four dental mission trips to Mexico, and has volunteered for Give Kids a Smile for many years. He's also the former Chair for San Juan County Mission of Mercy.

By creating beautiful, healthy smiles, he can make a positive impact on people's lives, and nothing gives him greater professional satisfaction than helping a patient become confident with who they are through dentistry.

Dr. Cole and his wife Robyn have three children, and most of Dr. Cole's extended family lives in Texas. When he's not volunteering or spending time with family, he's bicycle racing, participating in triathlons, weight lifting, and taking part in various forms of exercise. Dr. Cole and Robyn have been members at their church since 1990 where they have both taught Jr. High and High School Sunday school for many years.

Robyn and her husband, Dr. James Cole, own the practice together, and she maintains multiple roles, including office administrator, staff trainer, and OSHA compliance officer. She is also a part-time hygienist within the practice. She's been in the dental field for over 24 years. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene from Baylor College of Dentistry, where she completed her studies in 1989. She later taught as a clinical professor at Baylor and has taught part-time on and off through the years at the San Juan College Dental Hygiene School. Her education also includes Academic Language Therapist training from the Multi-Sensory Training Institute. In order to keep up with the latest in dental hygiene, she participates in 15-20 hours of continuing education annually. She loves the way that everyone in the practice strives for excellence and treats every patient like family. The entire staff works well together, and they're all friends. Kindness and compassion are foundational values for the practice, and the entire staff approaches treatment with servants' hearts. She is committed to excellence in details. She and Dr. Cole have three children and one loyal Weimaraner. She is so thankful for her family, both those that live nearby and those that live in Texas. Robyn is very involved in her church, and she teaches Sunday school. Dyslexia therapy is another of her passions, and she enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, fitness, and working with high school students.

As a dental hygienist, Angela provides preventive care for dental patients, including removal of plaque and calculus deposits from your teeth as well as examinations of your entire oral cavity, head, and neck areas for anything unusual. She also evaluates your gums and bone for the all too common periodontal disease or gingivitis. She takes X-rays, applies fluoride and sealants, and administers local anesthetic to patients. She has a responsibility to educate patients about their oral hygiene and show them how they can do a better job to prevent gum disease, cavities, and gingivitis. Originally from Bloomfield, she now lives in Farmington, and she's been in the dental profession for over 8 years. Angela has an associates degree in dental hygiene from San Juan College, and she's certified by the New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care. With a very gentle and cordial demeanor, she's very thorough and treats others with great care and respect. Angela loves helping people have a brighter smile. One of 7 children, Angela is married with a young son and another brand new baby boy. She enjoys being outdoors in nature participating in such activities as camping, hiking, running, and swimming. She also loves doing crafts, scrapbooking, and decorating. Most of all, Angela loves spending time with family and friends.

Barbara is responsible for performing all aspects of preventive dental care, including cleanings and patient education. She has studied both nursing and dental hygiene and has associates degrees in both. Since 2007, Barbara has been helping patients at our practice experience great oral health. She takes x-rays, checks blood pressure, and is licensed to administer anesthesia. Barbara loves all of her patients, and she really enjoys working with the rest of our dental team. She enjoys interacting with people and helping better educate them about oral health. Married with 8 children, she enjoys gardening and canning, camping, trips to the beach, backpacking, skiing, sewing, and woodworking.

Kim helps our patients maintain their oral health through cleanings, exams, oral cancer screenings, and detection of periodontal disease. She takes x-rays and educates patients. She will screen for high blood pressure and place sealants on children to prevent cavities. She grew up in Gallup and now lives in Bloomfield. She has been in the dental field for almost 15 years. Kim started her dental career as an assistant. In 2002, she received her Bachelor's of Science in dental hygiene from the University of New Mexico and joined our team. She is also on the New Mexico Board of Dental Healthcare. Her education includes a license in administering anesthesia. She believes that she works for great people and has a great boss! As a gentle and caring person, she's good at and loves what she does. When she has time, she enjoys scrapbooking, and she just started quilting. She has a great husband and two wonderful children.

Virginia handles the business side of our patient care -- answering phones, returning calls, scheduling, and obtaining insurance information. She enjoys doing everything possible to make sure your patient experience is pleasant and positive. She also makes good coffee! Originally from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, she now lives in Farmington, and she's been in dentistry for almost 30 years. Since graduating from Pagosa High School, she's taken part in continuing education in dentistry and taken business college courses. She enjoys working with Dr. Cole, her coworkers, and the patients. Virginia speaks fluent Spanish, and she likes to help people. As a mother, grandmother, and foster parent, Virginia enjoys spending time with family and friends, and she spends free time reading and cooking.
