The son of immigrants from Ghana, Dr. Mensah has lived throughout the United States, but has spent the majority of his life in North Carolina. As the middle son of four children, he realized very early that focusing on his studies and doing well in school would be the easiest way for him to stay in good graces with his parents.
Dr. Mensah attended high school at A.C. Reynolds in Asheville, North Carolina prior to attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both his bachelors and dental degree. The training he received served as the foundation for him to be the excellent comprehensive dentist he is today.
Since graduation Dr. Mensah has accumulated over eight years of private practice experience and hundreds of hours of continuing education. This added training puts him in the category of comprehensive dentistry versus just general dentistry. In addition to performing the normal everyday procedures of dentistry he also treats obstructive sleep apnea, implantology, and simple orthodontic cases; all utilizing the most cutting edge technology in dentistry.
Although he knows he has made a huge commitment providing the best possible care to his patient base; he knows that none of this would be possible without a supportive family. Dr. Mensah is a devout follower of Jesus Christ, husband, and father. Most of his free time is spent with them; enjoying the grace of everyday life.
Charles, prefers to go by Chuck, grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but he is a North Carolinian at heart. He moved to Durham, North Carolina after leaving Ohio and attending Northern Durham High School. He attended North Carolina State University where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Zoology.
Chuck began dental assisting in 2000 where he quickly realized he had a passion for dentistry and helping people with their smile. He is very involved in improving patients' oral and overall health. He is an integral part of the Integrative Family Dentistry team and has quite a patient fan following here!
Dr. Dayena Lee grew up in Greensboro NC after moving to the U.S. from South Korea at the age of 5! She attended UNC Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies, double majoring in Psychology and Asian Studies. She then received her masters degree in Physiology from NC State University. She went on to attend UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr D. Lee, alongside Dr. K Lee, are adjunct faculty members at UNC School of Dentistry, and continues to give back to the community by helping dental students in various community outreach dental programs. Dr. D. Lee is also currently an active member of the Admissions committee at UNC School of Dentistry, helping students fulfill their dreams of pursuing a career in dentistry.
In her free time, she loves traveling and experiencing new adventures with her husband, Dr. Alex Chong, also a dentist in the triangle area. They currently live in Durham, NC with their 13 year old Chihuahua, Choco.
Dr. Kandice Lee was born in California but raised in North Carolina. Moving to Charlotte at a young age, she considers herself a true North Carolinian. Her parents, immigrants from South Korea, taught her from an early age what it meant to work diligently, respectfully, and with compassion.
While the decision for dentistry came years later, she started her journey and interest in the healthcare field with a science driven education, beginning at Myers Park High Schools International Baccalaureate Program. She went on to study Biology at UNC Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies, followed by a Masters degree in Physiology from NC State University. She has since decided that the fairest way to deal with the university rivalry is to support UNC basketball and NC State football. She then completed her education at UNC Chapel Hill- School of Dentistry, where she received the training to not only to diagnose and restore dentition but to offer comprehensive care.
Following graduation, she went on to work in public health being able to refine her skills and give back to a community in need. It was here that she learned the significance between the mouth and a patient's overall health as well as the importance of oral health education.
Minerva resides in Durham, North Carolina with her husband Ezequiel and their chickens. She is one of 9 children and loves to spend time with her family. She also enjoys candle making, event planning, and decorating in her spare time.
Shamicka was born and raised in Roxboro, North Carolina. After graduating high school in 2004 she attended hair school and immediately went to work afterwards. In 2016 she decided to switch gears and made the best decision ever to attend Sunrise Dental Assisting School where I earned my certification.
Shamicka currently lives in Mebane with her husband Laron and two wonderful daughters ARiya and Riley. In her spare time she loves spending time at home with her family, cooking, vacationing in the mountains and the beach.
Teresa joined our team in January of 2022. She moved here from Wilmington, NC to be closer to her family. She is married with two children, a grandson and a grand dog. She enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, church, exercising, and loves helping people however she can.
Kimberly joined our practice in 2021 and brings 36 years of experience. She started her career as an orthodontic assistant transitioning into front office where she found her passion. Striving to put a smile on patients face's and a calm in their hearts. Kimberly wants each patient to leave the office feeling that they have been treated as family, with their dental needs addressed in a professional and compassionate manner.
Becky is our schedule coordinator with over 16 years of dental experience. She excels at assisting patients with their scheduling needs. She especially loves interacting with and establishing relationships with all of our patients.
Becky resides in Guilford County with her husband Brian and two sons along with their families. When Becky is not at work she is a proud GramGram to her four grandchildren, who are her world! Becky also enjoys relaxing and going to the beach in the summer.
Hope brings 13 years of dental office experience and over 22 years in patient care. She resides in Cedar Grove where she loves to spend time with her immediate family whom she adores. Hope enjoys reading, vegetable gardening, fishing, watching movies and even LOVE mowing her grass! She loves working with the best doctors and tremendous team members knowing as a team they will help their patients achieve a healthy beautiful smile. She looks forward to assisting you with all aspects of your dental visit.
