To extend this model beyond her own practice, Valerie Kanter, DMD, educates fellow dentists, so their patients can also experience greater well-being through advanced technology and integrative approaches to care. In addition to regularly speaking at dental and endodontic conferences, she teaches at the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry.
When not working with patients or teaching, she loves spending time in L.A. and the nature nearby. Learning, traveling, and connecting with others in her community are some of Dr. Kanters passions, as well as practicing yoga and meditation.

Enjoying the Los Angeles scenery and natural surroundings, Dr. Rustad is an avid hiker, surfer, and weekend beekeeper. Whether she is crafting homemade sauerkraut, sourdough, or kombucha, Dr. Rustad delights in homemade fermentation projects. She shares the joys of parenting with her husband, Tregg, as they raise their three daughters and stay involved in their neighborhood community.

Dr. Kanter is the BEST IN CLASS in this field. I am so grateful to have found this office and promise you will be in the absolute best care. I received the gentle wave procedure and was taken well care of. If you are conflicted about traditional root canals, see Dr. Kanter first to talk about your options, because they do exist. I would like to thank Dr. Kanter for helping me in my time of need, she has performed two root canals for me and cleaned up a abscess infection that I had on the pallet side of my mouth with surgery/The Apicoectomy Procedure, I appreciated her holistic approach and I feel that she is a true technician at her craft. She is passionate about her job and helping others I would definitely recommend. It's been over one year and my tooth is doing great! I'd like to thank Dr. Kanter staff especially STAR!

If I could give more stars I would. What an amazing place. So professional, efficient, upbeat, kind, compassionate, and way ahead of anyone else in the field. Valerie uses the latest endodontic technology ensuring an excellent result. Your experience starts with a lovely receptionist Star who bends over backwards and comes in on the weekends to try to accommodate the barrage of patients who waited a year to have their dental work during the pandemic and are all now in acute need of being seen. While a root canal, is not a procedure you want to run to have done, if you need one this is the dentist you will want to run to. Valerie is passionate and skilled. She is able to save a tooth that other Dentists would run from. She has such good energy and is kind not only to the patients but to her staff as well. The crystals, and energetic relaxing medicine she applies only enhance the healing experience for even the most fearful. Those who may have suffered or are suffering from a life time of abuse from dentists who filled teeth with unknowingly toxic mercury and the damage and stress this places on peoples teeth and system. I feel very grateful our paths have crossed.

I apologize for the multiple one star reviews that are still up and I don't know how to take down. Despite my lashing out via reviews , Val treated me with compassion. I have been through dental hell and she heard me and saw me and tried to help. Some mishaps happened and I lost trust. It is hard to find a healer in an endodontist. Val really is a healer. She is empathic and she listens. Plus she has the best non toxic materials and innovation possible to treat your teeth. I really hope you have the support you need to have a thriving practice. I am really sorry for everything and wish I had found a way to make it back to your office a few years back. Iatrogenic injury is real and once it happens it is like a deep dark hole that never ends. Val was a light in the tunnel but I could not see it. I was too deeply hurt.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would do, Dr. Val (Kanter) has literally saved my teeth. Her manner, skills and tech are second to none, and I know the tools and treatments she uses are the best available and are the safest for the longevity of my health and my teeth. If you need an endodontist look no further.

I am so glad I found Dr. Kanter. She is incredibly competent and kind and I felt very well taken care of throughout the whole procedure. I had an old root canal that had been causing me some inflammation and discomfort and was concerned I would need to have it pulled and replaced with an implant. After reviewing my scans, she let me know that the tooth could be saved and she retreated it using techniques and materials that were safe and compatible with my body. She made sure I was comfortable and pain-free throughout the full process and corrected errors that the original dentist who did the prior root canal had missed. I can't recommend her highly enough. If you have been told you need a root canal or are having any issues with a previous one you've done, definitely go see her!

Dr. Kanter is awesome - she's informative, encouraging and takes the time to throughly educate you about your dental health. Star at the front desk is great as well, and she was really apologetic about missing my calls & emails when I was trying to schedule an appointment - she was out of office due to a personal emergency, and she took care of me quickly once she was back. I was referred to someone else because I was somewhat in the wrong place, but I left feeling like I understood my dental health a lot better and I had an action plan of next steps I needed to take to improve my condition. Thank you for your kindness and knowledge, Dr. Kanter and Star!
