Dr. Carey ORielly is a holistic dentist operating in San Diego who truly understands and practices the tenets of holistic health, both as a practitioner and in his personal life. His remarkable knowledge of the field came about through years of study and experience, initiated by his own work-related health challenges.
A 1985 graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California Dental School, Dr. ORielly went on to develop a regional network of eight dental practices. Later his expertise in case diagnosis and quality control led him into providing Quality Assurance for insurance companies, consulting with more than fifty dental offices throughout California.
After a decade of hard work, stress and exposure to environmental toxins, he started to investigatetoxicity issuesin the practice of dentistry. Through a growing interest inhealth conscious dental care, he associated with several specialized holistic/ cosmetic practices. As a result he was exposed to a comprehensive range of experience and methodologies in the field. All this contributed to his philosophy that the mouth is the gateway to the body.
Patients travel from throughout San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles Counties for his care. He is widely networked with numerous alternative health care practitioners who participate as part of a team for patient treatment when indicated.
Dr. ORiellys integrative approach to holistic/cosmetic dentistry has evolved since 1994, when he first limited his practice to bio-compatible dentistry. Dr. Bo Ah Kim is a dedicated, compassionate and talented general dentist.She is an excellent clinician, with a wide-ranging knowledge of dental procedures. Dr Kim enjoys the rapport she builds with her patients. Her work is gentle, methodicaland conscientious.
Dr. Kim received her Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003. She received her DDS degree in 2007 from the prestigious College of Dental Medicine at Columbia University in New York and has been practicing ever since.
The mother of two beautiful little boys, Dr. Kim moved here to provide her family with a healthy Southern California lifestyle. She has joined Integrative Dental Practice to practice holistic dental care and has enthusiastically embraced the health-minded philosophy of our patients.
Dr. Kim works closely with Dr. ORielly, to benefit from his 35 years of experience in the field of holistic dentistry. Through her training with him, she has an in-depth understanding of his treatment protocols, environmental concerns and use of bio-friendly materials. She has embraced holistic care diligently and enthusiastically.
Dr Bae is a rare practitioner, an Integrative Periodontist. He has joined our staff because Dr ORiellys philosophies in dentistry and health align with his. He and Dr Bae have the same holistic approach to designing patient treatments: optimizing results in order to maximize health.
Patients have been pleased and excited to work with him. As an Integrative Periodontist, he truly understands how the mouth affects overall health. In addition to restoring health to the gums, bone and other supporting structures of the mouth and teeth, he also lowers the inflammatory burden that the mouth can put on the rest of the body. Dr. Bae is able to accomplish this in in the least painful and invasive way possible.
His treatments incorporate laser surgeries called LANAP to restore gum and bone health around inflamed and even diseased gums. In addition, Dr Bae also restores gum strength and gum health by correcting loss and recession. He does this with an ingenious technique of microsurgery called the Pinhole Technique, which doesnt require cutting of the gums and harvesting tissue. This allows forprocedures that are less painful and have quicker healing times.
Dr Bae received his dental degree from Columbia University Dental School and his Certificate of Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2011. In 2012 he became a Diplomat in Periodontology and is Board Certified for Periodontics and Dental Implants. Since then,he has postgraduate training at Harvard and has become a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry for LANAP and LAPIP. LAPIP is another procedure using the laser that treatsa condition called Peri-implantitis.
Dr Bae has been a clinical instructor in periodontics and implants. He has also done research on the affects of diabetes and the microbiome/bacteria of the mouth on gum health, systemic inflammatory conditions, and chronic disease.

I cannot rave enough about Dr. O'Rielly and his amazing staff! I've found my forever dentist--he's honest, he cares, he takes the time to sit down with you and answer your questions--so much so his staff has to keep him moving because he's that dedicated to his patients. I know I've found a dentist who cares just as much about my health as I do. He's picky about his work too and I really appreciate that!

Very unpleasant experiences in this office. Sorry that I went there thinking he was such a great dentist. Lots more problems with my teeth while going there. Put in fillings & told 3 months later that I needed crowns on those teeth. Told by the wife who runs the office instead of the dentist coming in after the exam to explain things to me. When I told the dentist I wanted him to explain things to me I was being rushed out of the office by the wife as he had to numb the next person. The wife had come in without my chart after the exam to tell me that I needed crowns on two teeth. I had to ask which ones. The dentist did the "new patient exam" after I was going there for almost one year! They still have not sent me the results of that exam that I paid for. The notes have been doctored up to show that he told me to go elsewhere one month before that exam & before the letter I received from him & phone conversation that he would work on those teeth "for free" so that I would not have to pay twice. What about the damage to my teeth? The notes have been doctored up stating 2 phases for work to be done after I requested my records to go to someone else. He claimed that he told me this & withheld information because I am a timid patient so he did not tell as a judgement call (his words). What? They claim to see one patient at a time, not true, lots of phone calls, interruptions, seeing other patients in the dental hygienist office, too busy to make the appointments that they said I needed, then changed his mind, now changed the notes on my records. He claimed that normal is 3 weeks to go over records before sending them. Claimed I was not reasonable for wanting them in a week as he had to go over them page by page. Told me that things got worse while he was "watching" the decay. He & his office is not to be trusted! Beware! So sorry that I ever thought I could trust him. Wish I had run out of there first time things seemed to be strange.

Dr. O'Rielly and his team are some of the most caring and thoughtful dental staff around. He and his staff go to great lengths to educate you and his scientific approach really puts things in perspective when he shows you what's living in your mouth with his microscope! Highly recommended!

I have been with Dr. O for over 15 years and can only rave about the quality of care I have received. I have significant autoimmune issues which requires holistic dentistry care. Dr. O has carefully removed the old mercury fillings in my mouth, he's performed laser technology on my throat (bacteria and sleep apnea) and he has provided other medical procedures to help my immune system and my sleep. And of course he does a great job of the basics to keep my teeth and mouth healthy. Great office and great people!!!

Updated - I have all 3 implants working great. I came to Dr. Carey O'Rielly for the total health holistic approach, mercury-free office and a small team offering greater attention - I needed a lot of attention. Over many years I slowly developed severe problems that were not addressed by 9-10 dentists and doctors from Europe and USA. Also due to working mostly out of town I did not take care of myself properly for long periods of time. So my dental case could be considered as rather drastic, difficult to work requiring risky decisions. Dr. O'Rielly and his staff took on this challenge and eventually straightened my issues, put me on a path to a complete recovery. He removed all of many mercury fillings. He successfully used ozone treatment for borderline teeth. Some teeth were moving, now they are just fine. He watched for smallest imperfections in the process of getting me well. I gained greater health and vitality also due to taking teeth and health supporting supplements, supervised by Dr. O'Rielly's wife Victoria, who is a nutritionist. Supplements worked very well for me. I could easily tell the difference - I and my teeth felt worse when not taking supplements for a week and felt better within a day, two when resumed with normal doses. From the very beginning till today I feel well cared for, very comfortable and relaxed before, during and after procedures in Dr. O'Rielly's office. Thanks to Dr. O'Rielly I naturally gained knowledge and greater understanding of my mistakes made over many years. This is is a big, benefit to me, not available from Dental Fast Food industry. By contrast, I learned nothing from mentioned earlier 9-10 dentists, who might be good professionals otherwise. I do remember that all of them were putting in my mouth mercury fillings without any warning. By contrast Dr. O'Rielly advocated AVOIDANCE and REMOVAL of mercury fillings very early, many years ago. I learned this from an old article, brochure found at the door of Jimbo organic food store. I put it to my library years ago and found it recently, when needed. I also noticed that Dr. O'Rielly offers in waiting room a long line of valuable magazines that relate to holistic health and living well. My experience with Dr. O'Rielly is that Integrative Dentistry is much better than just Dentistry. It takes care of much more than just teeth. It includes teeth connections to the restimo body. I consider Dr. Carey O'Rielly to be among the very best. I wish I came to him years ago. Thanks to him I am much wiser now.

I don't know where to begin. After years of fear and dread over going to the dentist (I've many dental problems related to poor health over the many years), I have found the impossible...a dentist I look forward to seeing. Not only is Dr. O'Rielly skilled at what he does (he was able to deal with my numerous dental problems that other dentists either had no solution for or only made worse), he is kind and patient. I went from a mouth with much metal to a beautiful new white smile. I am beyond grateful to the whole team at integrative dentistry. Not only did you take care of my teeth, you went above and beyond to make sure my son was comfortable and entertained on those many visits. O'Rielly is the best dentist I have ever visited. I got enough bridges and stuff in my mouth to make a US highway out of it. O'Rielly is confident, communicative, kind and cares greatly about his patients. He will throw a crown away and start over if he is not 100% satisfied. I cannot recommend him highly enough if you want a holistic dentist.

Hands down, Dr. O'Rielly is the absolute BEST dentist out there! I am so fortunate to have had him recommended to me by my acupunturist. I sought out O'Rielly because I had seven amalgam fillings I needed removed as a first step to improving my state of health. I did extensive research on the removal process and spoke with nine different offices regarding amalgam restoration before choosing Dr. O'Rielly and I couldn't be happier with my decision! First off, I was made to feel very comfortable by Dr. Orielly and his staff. Both Victoria and Dr. Orielly answered and addressed all of my questions and concerns. They really strived to make my needs, as a patient, a priority, even under tight time constraints. Even more, their pricing is very competitive. For their amalgam restorations, they have charged the same price for the past 20 years! Also, they don't charge ridiculous "quadrant fees" like other dentists do. And if that isn't icing on the cake, Dr. O'Rielly is EXTREMELY experienced. I am a hyper sensitive individual who requires extra care and attention and with his expertise, Dr. O'Rielly had no problem ensuring I was well-suited and comfortable! Typically, I have extreme dental anxiety, but Dr. O'Rielly energy is very calming and he kept me informed as to what he was doing every step of the way which I couldn't be more appreciate of! I hate to say it, but to be honest, I swear I could have taken a nap if I really wanted to! Never thought I'd say that - especially with dental work, but that's how comfortable I was! Anyways, over the past several years, I have seen numerous dentists... I always left feeling poked, proded, and decieved. Take my word for it, NOTHING COMPARES TO DR. O'RIELLY! I 100% quit other dentists, because really, I don't think I will ever find a better dentist than Dr. O'Rielly! Dr O and Victoria, have helped me through some of the toughest dental issues (extraction and implant). I hate going to the dentist and I have neglected it for years. They go above and beyond to help you. Dr O has the latest technology and marries with an holistic approach. They are the true meaning of integrative dentistry.
