Dr. Nakamura is a third generation dentist who was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Iolani High School, and after graduating, he attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon where he completed his dental school requirements in 3 years.
Dr. Nakamura continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and received his dental degree in 1994. He pursued postgraduate training in periodontics and periodontal-prosthesis at the University of Pennsylvania. From 1997, Dr. Nakamura worked in the University of Pennsylvania Faculty Network Practice, where he placed and restored dental implants, performed various periodontal procedures, provided fixed and removable prosthetics, and practiced general dentistry.
Dr. Nakamura is dedicated to imparting and applying the knowledge he's accumulated over the years from his postgraduate training and practicing to his patients, contemporary colleagues, as well as potential colleagues of tomorrow. He lectures locally, nationally, and internationally on various topics such as Dental Implants, Periodontics, and Occlusion. Additionally, Dr. Nakamura had articles published in the Hawaii Medical Journal, the Western Journal of Medicine, Penn Dental Journal, Journal of Prosthodontics, and the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.
His academic responsibilities have included Clinical Assistant Professor and Primary Care Unit Group Leader in the Department of Preventative and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine from 2006 to 2011. Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Maurice Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University from 2011 to 2021 and currently, he is back teaching in the Department ofPreventativeand Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Nakamura was named Best Dentist in Main Line Today, Philadelphia Magazine, and Be Well Philly by his peers. He has the unique distinction of being recognized as a Top Dentist in the categories of Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and General Dentistry.
Dorsey joined Dr. Nakamuras office last year. She started out as a dental assistant for 7 years, then transitioned to the front desk for another 10 years. She brings her many years of expertise to our office. Dorsey loves our attention to quality care we give our patients and enjoys working beside a great staff! She has 2 children and 1 grandchild. She loves to decorate, cook and swim.
Kirsten, a native from Edgewater, MD, got her Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Harcum College. She comes to Integrated Dental Care with over 20 years of experience as a hygienist. She had worked with Dr. Nakamura previously for four years in the University of Pennsylvania Faculty Practice Network. She is also certified in adult, child and infant CPR and Concussion Prevention. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 3 children and watching them compete in various sport activities as well spending time with her goldendoodle pup, Paddy. Having grown up around the water, she enjoys relaxing at the beach with a good book, as well as traveling. She especially can't wait for the MLB and NFL to resume.
Lauren joined our team in March 2017. She has 10 years of experience as a dental assistant, and her knowledge of periodontics and strong communication skills allow her to better serve our patients and assist them in seeking and receiving treatment. Lauren enjoys working with Dr. Nakamura, our great team, and our wonderful patients. Lauren resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with her husband, two children, and two golden retrievers. Outside of the office, her hobbies include cooking, gardening, and enjoying the outdoors.

I was a bit nervous going here, but the minute I walked in the door I was at ease. The office cleanliness, the calming decor, the welcoming staff was amazing. No wait. Met Ashley and the Dr, they explained everything to me and I'm okay to proceed with my next appointment. I highly recommend this office.

Best experience I've had with dental work! Dr. Nakamura is highly experienced, empathic, kind, personable, and explains the steps of the procedure before and after very thoroughly and patiently. Not only that, he surrounds himself with incredible staff (both medical and front office) who are also kind, friendly, highly knowledgeable, experienced, and will make you feel at ease. I've been a patient long enough to know that his staff is highly trained and will absolutely look out for your best intentions- trying to help wherever, whenever possible. It's rare, but this doctor and his entire staff are authentic and care! I've never experienced a long wait time or a rude moment with anyone in the practice. They are truly an incredible staff and all geniunely amazing people. I don't enjoy any type of dental work (who does!?) but I really do enjoy seeing their kind, smiling faces when I come into the office! Kudos to Dr. Nakamura and his amazing team!

integrated dental care was more than accommodating regarding my appointment, as I accidentally drove to the wrong place therefore missing my 1st one. They gladly gave me a second one just a few days later. Everyone in the facility just couldn't have been Kinder. Very professional and obviously experts in their field. The doctor himself was so patient as I am a question asker and he was more than happy to spend the extra time answering each and every one.I asked for an extra disk of my skin to take with me and I spent an incredible amount of time doing it Even though it was passed their closing time . I will definitely go to them again when needed and highly recommend them to anyone who wants superior care and compassionate service. 9/10/22 this was another appointment at integrated Dental care. I have been getting my teeth professionally clean for 50 years. Kersten the specialized hygienist here did about the most thorough and painless deep cleaning I've ever received.

Dr. Nakumore is not only a great guy but, most notably, a highly skilled dentist in the specialties he practices. I needed a periodontist's help at roughly thirty-five as I lost most of my teeth due to dry mouth from the medications I was on for chronic pain. My teeth became so bad that I was embarrassed to smile anymore. Whenever someone would take a photo of me, I was the only one not smiling; I was very embarrassed. I spent the better part of a decade contemplating whether to have my teeth replaced but could never find a periodontist with whom I was comfortable enough. About a year ago, Dr. Nakumore appeared in our life. After discussing my situation in detail with Dr. Nakumore, I got that tingly feeling in my gut. You know the feeling that tells most of us that I've finally found the right person or periodontist. The Doc was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke In a language I could understand about all my treatment options available from start to finish. I was thrilled to walk away from this consultation, not being completely confused for a change. We finally pulled the trigger, and the doc is doing a fantastic job to date. We couldn't be more pleased. Oh yes, the equipment in Dr. Nakumore's is truly state of the art. Definitely neat seeing the Dr. making good use of it all. Finally, the doc is just a genuinely good guy, down to earth which I always appreciate. If you r thinking about having any major dental work done I would definitely recommend at least having a concentration with the Nacumore.

Just retuned from another procedure from Dr Nakamura. And I can say that he is consistently friendly, professional and very skilled at his craft. I feel he is making my oral problematic situation much better. The office is also very welcoming in its appearance and the staff is really great too.

Had a dental issue around a holiday and my call was returned promptly and a quick appointment was arranged. Routine cleaning -very thorough job. Staff couldn't be nicer! Dr/assistant were very patient and careful during an exhaustive extraction. Staff helpful with insurance issues and offers discount plan when no insurance coverage. Appointments are on time, rarely any wait. Visit near end of red phase during pandemic was handled well with all distancing and safety precautions in place. Visit in yellow phase of pandemic continued safe protocols. Sorry to learn that Angie has retired, she was a very thorough clinician. Wishing her the best during retirement. Appointment on time with safe protocols in place and followed. Had to change my appointment 2X in the week before and they were extremely accommodating! Quick checkup on implant procedure. On time and safe protocols followed.. Implant complete. Feels great! Entire staff is excellent, professional, personable. Safety protocols continue to be a priority. Quick response to yet another broken tooth - wish Dr. Nakamura had been the dentist of my youth, perhaps fewer dental issues now. I learned that Dr.Nakamura, featured in the October 2020 issue of suburban life magazine, is a third generation dentist who also publishes and lectures on topics such as dental implants periodontics and occlusion. This keeps him up-to-date on the latest technologies for premier dental care for his patients. Top notch care continues along with assistance with insurance submissions, much appreciated! What more can I say? Appointments on time, covid precautions continue, insurance submissions seamless, thorough teeth cleaning, very pleasant and helpful staff! I can only repeat that appointments are on time (no waiting), staff is extremely helpful with insurance and billing and I had a very thorough cleaning. Yet another emergency dental issue and they worked me quickly into a very full schedule (so grateful) and I had real relief and improvement within hours. Awesome team at IDC. 5 Stars (?? why 4 showed)

My first visit was pretty good. Dr. Nakamura was really nice and patient. He took the time to examine my teeth and gum, listened all my concerns and gave me some suggestions for further treatment.
