Sedation dentistry at our Gig Harbor location involves either the use of an oral sedative or IV Sedation, so you can undergo one or several procedures in an anxiety-free environment. Although you will not be completely asleep for treatment with oral sedation, you will be largely unaware of the procedures being performed. When treatment is over, you will have little to no recollection of the events that transpired during your visit. During IV sedation, also known as sleep dentistry, you will be asleep during the procedure and will wake up when the treatment is over. Dr. Gary Grimm is a native of Tacoma, Washington where he graduated from Franklin Pierce High School. After High School Gary attended Central Washington University, and earned a Bachelors of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After obtaining his bachelor degree Gary went on to the University of Sydney Australia to earn his Doctorate in Dentistry. Dr. Grimm finished in the top of his class and earned the Universitys Award in Fixed Prosthodontics (Crown, Bridge, and Implants), Removable Prosthodontics (Full and Partial Dentures), and Endodontics (Root Canals). Gary joined one of Sydneys top dental practices where as an associate his focus was on cosmetic dentistry.
Garys passion for his family and country directed him back to the United States. Upon returning Gary went on to the University of Virginia to acquire a two year General Practice Residency. At his Residency he was assigned Chief Resident and among many procedures he was trained in I.V. sedation, removal of wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, and full mouth rehabilitation and surgeries. In addition, he is proficient with the management of the medically complex patients, handicapped patients, and anxious patients of all ages. Dr. Grimm is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Academy of General Dentistry.
When not providing dental care, Gary can be found riding his dirt bike or mountain bikes. He also tinkers with his project car, a 1968 Corvette. Dont let his last name fool you; he is anything but Grimm. Please get to know Gary and experience his warm smile and cheerful voice.
