Dr. Donald Flynn completed his undergraduate studies at St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis. His postgraduate studies in Periodontics were completed at the University of Illinois, Chicago, where he obtained his certificate in Periodontics.
Dr. Flynn joined two group practices upon completion of his training, prior to establishing his own periodontal practice in Aurora in 1995. In addition to working in private practice for 27 years, Dr. Flynn continually takes courses on the latest technological advances in Periodontics and Implantology so that he can stay on the leading edge of his field.
Dr. Flynn has been volunteering his dental expertise to those in need for over 20 years. He participates in two local charity programs in the Aurora area, where dentists offer free dentistry to the needy,
Dentists with a Heart is a non-profit organization that provides free dentistry and preventive dental education to those who cannot afford dental care and who lack dental insurance. During a one-day event, the team of professional volunteers provides dental services such as cleanings, fillings and extractions to those who qualify.
Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) is an international, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide free dental care to those who cannot afford it. Each year, Dentistry From The Heart holds hundreds of events across the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, where individual dentists, hygienists, volunteers and practices generously donate their time and resources to provide beautiful smiles to those in need.
Having memberships in many professional organizations provides Dr. Flynn with the means to influence developments in his field, as well as a wider forum to improve patient care.Dr. Flynn is a member of the following organizations:
Dr. Flynn takes an active role in organized dentistry, serving as past secretary/treasurer, vice president and president of the Aurora Dental Society. He also served as a Board Member of the Fox River Valley Dental Society.
In 2019, Dr. Flynn was recognized as one of Americas Top Dentists in Periodontics by the Consumers Research Council of America. Dr. Flynn has also received the Talk Award for Customer Service for nine consecutive years.
When Dr. Flynn is not practicing Periodontics, he can be found residing in Sugar Grove and spending time with his wife, Stacey, and their four children, Zachary, Madeline, Isabella and Ian. His other interests include golf, computers, and skiing.
Kristin joined Innovative Periodontics & Implants in 2014 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of our practice and team. Her main role is to keep us running smoothly and efficiently, with patient focus being at the core of everything we do. Kristin graduated from Indiana University in 1989 with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. Kristin and her husband have two children, and she enjoys traveling, movies and fitness boxing, as well as being an essential oils distributor.
Debbie has 23 years of dental front office experience, primarily in the periodontal field. Her positive attitude and friendly demeanor are reflected in how she assists our patients with scheduling, financial matters and insurance questions. Debbie loves being with her family and grandchildren, and spending time in nearby Wisconsin on the weekends. During her free time, Debbie enjoys catching up on her favorite TV shows and movies.
Keila strives to provide a comfortable environment for each patient and finds the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the results in her patients as their oral care and overall health improve. Keila, a native of Colorado, developed interest in the dental field because she always enjoyed going to the dentist as a kid. In her free time Keila enjoys hot yoga sculpt and spending time with her husband. Both she and her husband enjoy fitness and recently completed their first marathon.
Teri has worked in the dental field for over 18 years, and she has been with Innovative Periodontics & Implants since 2006. Teri enjoys getting to know our patients, and she strives to ensure that they always feel 100 percent informed and comfortable during their visits. She loves being a grandma and cherishes spending time with her kids and grandkids. Teri is also an exceptional gardener and enjoys being outdoors in the warmer months.
Lore has been a dental assistant for more than 21 years. She enjoys interacting with patients and helping them gain a better understanding of their dental care. Lore comes from a big family and enjoys spending time with them as well as being outdoors with her husband and son. She and her husband are passionate about home improvement and have been working hard to make their new house a home.
Bella is a part time dental assistant, and she enjoys helping our patients and assisting Dr. Flynn and the clinical team. Bella strives to make sure patients are comfortable and that their needs are addressed. Bella loves dance and has been active with her school dance team.

Had 2 gum recession fixes years ago, and when I was experiencing new sensitivity Dr. Flynn was honest and helpful in saying that I didn't need another procedure just yet. I really appreciate his and his offices's honesty, professionalism, and kindness!!

Great experience, dr flinn was amazing. Had all on 4 done on both upper and lower very little to no pain at all.very happy no problems even though i had several teeth pulled i was able to eat dinner on my way home! Would strongly recommend dr. Flynn and his amazing team

Dr. Flynn did a wonderful job with our 15 year old daughters procedure. She was very nervous about the procedure and he helped her feel relaxed. He also was very efficient. The whole procedure was just over an hour. The staff was very helpful answering all our questions about after care.

I was apprehensive to have gum graft surgery but it needed to be done. Dr Flynn and his staff made the procedure as painless as possible. It was done efficiently and was over before I knew it. Two teeth were addressed, top and bottom. Recovery was not difficult but you must follow the recommendations they give you: no nuts, seeds, or popcorn was the hardest part for me, plus not brushing in those areas. I would recommend going to Dr. Flynn if you have gum recession problems but want to keep your own teeth.

So about 3 months ago I was doing my research on Botox for TMJ as I suffer from it pretty badly so i google treatment facilities and Innovative Periodontics popped up first. I did a little more research and saw Dr. Flynn was certified to give Botox treatment to help people suffering from TMJ issues. I made an appointment with his staff who by the way are amazing he has a great team with him they made me feel very comfortable and where there to answer any questions I may have had. When meeting with Dr. Flynn he gave me the run down of the procedure and the positive effects Botox has done for treating TMJ. I Ended up trying it and after about a week my TMJ symptoms where gone and I was pain free! Mind you I had been having chronic TMJ pain for about a year prior to the treatment. I would definitely recommend Innovative Periodontics 100% if you suffer from TMJ like I did. Thank you Dr Flynn and staff for your service!!!
