Dr. Gary Schultz is a Pittsburgh native who earned his B.S., D.M.D., and Certificate in Graduate Endodontics degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Schultz began practicing general dentistry in 1985, and following his endodontic residency, established Innovative Endodontics in 1989.
Dr. Schultz regularly attends seminars and trains to keep abreast of the latest techniques and developments in endodontics, and incorporates these into daily practice. He has trained directly with some of the most innovative endodontists in the field in order to provide you the best possible care.
Dr. Schultz is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Graduate Endodontic Department, and was nominated to serve on the American Association of Endodontists Clinical Practice Committee.
Dr. Michael Lisien was born and raised in the small town of Portland, Connecticut. He attended Loyola University Chicago where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and Endodontic residency certification.
Dr. Lisien currently resides in Upper Saint Clair with his wife Laura, and two sons, Noah and Spencer. In his spare time, Dr. Lisien enjoys being outdoors with his family in all of the four seasons. He also nurtures a passion for all things aviation.
Dr. Janel Marcelino grew up in San Jose, California and now calls Pittsburgh home. Dr. Marcelino is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She received her undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California-Berkeley. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine and Endodontic Specialty Certification at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Marcelino is involved in organized dentistry and academia. She has served in multiple capacities as a board member of the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania, including holding the posts of editor-in-chief and assistant secretary. She served as the vice chair of the New Dentist Committee of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. She has also served as an ADA Success Speaker. Dr. Marcelino has been a clinical faculty member and endodontic literature instructor at Pitt Dentals Department of Endodontics since 2014.
Dr. Shilpa Chaudhry graduated from Boston University school of dentistry in 2005 and then did her General Practice Residency from University of Washington, Seattle. She moved to Pittsburgh where she practiced general dentistry for over 8 years. Her passion for endodontics took her to University of Pittsburgh where she did an intensive two year residency program. During her training, she did research which was later published in the Australian Endodontic Journal.
She has been named one of the top endodontists in the city by Pittsburgh Magazine. Shes a strong advocate of patient education and treats all patients with compassion. Shes lived in Sewickley for the past 13 years and enjoys running, biking and hiking with her husband, Sid and their children, Sai and Shelly.
Dr. Benjamin Levine grew up in Monroeville, PA and received his B.S. and D.M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. During his time at Pitt, Dr. Levine conducted research on bone regeneration and was published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2013. He was awarded the Deans Research Scholarship and the 2015 American Student Dental Association Research Award.
Upon graduation, Dr. Levine completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Pittsburgh where he discovered his passion for endodontics. This led him to return to the University of Pittsburgh to complete his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.
Dr. Levine has previously served as the staff endodontist for the Pittsburgh VA Hospital. He has also been involved in several community outreach events with Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh providing dental care to patients in need.
Dr. Levine is currently working towards becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and has completed the written and oral exam of the board certification process. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and Western Pennsylvania Dental Society. Currently, he resides in Squirrel Hill with his wife Madelyn, and their two dogs, George and Jackson. In his free time, he enjoys watching Pittsburgh sports, biking, skiing, and traveling.

For anyone who ever stressed over getting a root canal done- do not hesitate to use IE- their team is wonderful - Dr Shilpa Chaudhry did mine and she and her assistant were so caring, efficient, gentle and knowledgeable that I was shocked at how easy it was. They made certain I felt no pain, were totally interested in my comfort, have the latest tech and were so sweet and friendly I would never consider going anywhere else! Thank you all for making this so easy for me!

I had my first root canal by Dr. Lisien. Dr. Lisien and his office staff put me at ease and were very friendly and explained every step. The entire procedure took less than an hour with no pain at all. Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Chaudhry is amazing! I've had many dentists and Endodontists in my life, and quite simply - she is the best! You never want to get a root canal, but when you do, I highly recommend Dr. Chaudhry and her staff. Her care and expertise helped me through a very difficult time (3 root canals). If you are looking for an Endo, don't risk going to anyone else - she is the best there is.

Never had a root canal before so I was a little nervous. All you ever hear are negative things compared to root canals. I have to say this was probably my best dental experience I have ever had in my life. Dr. Chaudhry and team were amazing and enjoyable to be around. Did not feel any pain whatsoever during the procedure and was out of there in less than an hour on a complex tooth that had a temporary bridge over top of it. I hope I don't have to but I would definitely go back again. I see why all the reviews are 5 stars.

Went to Innovative Endodontics yesterday, when I walked in they were ready for me! They had me fill out forms and got me in really quick! When the dentist came in he was super nice and the assistant and him was a great team! I told him he was super gentle especially with the shots! They cared about my pain and tried to be as gentle and quick as possible! Definitely recommend him and his team! Super professional and super nice! It's on the 3rd floor! Super clean and nice office! They sanitized everything after I was done in the office filling out info on the iPad. Made me feel good! Thanks to the staff of Innovative Endodontics! Did a great job!!!

Absolutely one of the all time best dental experiences I've had. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the time I walked in the door. Dr. Chaudhry did the procedure made sure I was comfortable and informed about what she was doing the entire time. Her and her assistant worked very well together also. Would recommend this office and Dr. Chaudhry to anyone needing this type of care.

My back molar was infected and on the verge of an abscess. I was told I needed a root canal and to be honest, I was nervous. I had never had a root canal and had heard horror stories in years past. The entire staff at Innovative Endodontics was incredible, everyone making me feel so welcome. Dr. Chaudhry and her assistant are the best! Dr. Chaudhry explained everything along the way which was nice. The root canal was over before I knew it and there was no pain throughout the procedure. Thank you to Dr. Chaudhry and the entire team at Innovative Endodontics.

I had an abscessed tooth that needed a root canal. I was very nervous but from the moment I got there the receptionist was so nice and very welcoming! The Assistant was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. Then Dr. Chaudhry topped my experience off! She was very thorough, explained everything along the way and was very comforting. I was at ease the entire time and am very thankful I chose this office. I would highly recommend Dr. Chaudhry!

I don't typically leave reviews, but the first thing I thought when leaving Innovative Endodontics was "I need to leave a review." No one wants to have a root canal, let alone two, but my experience both times was nothing but pleasant. I had Dr. Lisien and Dr. Chaudhry and both were so kind, funny, and caring. The same goes for all staff I interacted with! Dr. Chaudhry even followed up on her own with a phone call to make sure I was doing okay the next day. I had very little pain throughout the procedure and the next day just needed to take some Ibuprofen. I definitely recommend!

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I've never had a root canal in my life, yet alone two at the same time as an emergency. Not only did they make arrangements for me to get in less than 48 hours before I called as I was in immense pain from the cavity pushing on my nerve, it was pretty much a painless procedure. The dentist has the most incredible bedside manner as do the hygeniests there. They talked me through everything, and I would recommend any scaredy cat like myself to go there, you will not be disappointed. THANK YOU TO THE ENTIRE STAFF. This was truly a blessing to be taken care of so soon and not be in pain anymore.

Went for my first root canal today 8/4/21. Dr. Chaudhry and her assistant Nicole were very professional with the care of my teeth . I had to have 2 root canal done . I would recommend them .
