Dr. William Adams graduated cum laude in 1969 from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. He completed a U.S. Air Force General Dentistry Residency Program at San Antonio, Texas and served as a Flight Dentist/Oral Surgeon for a 13-chair clinic in North Carolina from 1970-72. He then completed his Endodontic Specialty training at Indiana University School of Dentistry as a resident at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a full-time faculty member at Indiana University for 5 years and has continued part-time for the last 27 years. He co-founded Indianapolis Endodontics with Dr. Spolnik in 1978. He is a principal author of the first textbook on endodontic surgery, Surgical Endodontics, published in 1982. He has since published many clinical articles and lectured nationally and internationally. He is a resident of scenic Brown County and swears it is worth the drive.
Dr. David H. Pfotenhauer grew up in South Bend and completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Notre Dame. After finishing dental school at Indiana in 1989, he was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps, and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Texas. Dr. Pfotenhauer served as a general dental officer in Utah, Turkey and Germany before his Masters in Endodontics program at Indiana in 2000. He then served as Chief of Endodontics at Travis AFB in California and taught in a General Practice Residency. He separated from the Air Force and joined Indianapolis Endodontics in the spring of 2002. Dr. Pfotenhauer is married with 4 children and enjoys home improvement projects and playing drums in the Praise and Worship band at his local church.
Dr. Benjamin H. Adams grew up in Zionsville, Indiana and completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Ball State University in 1998. Dr. Adams received his D.D.S. from Indiana University in 2002, and his certificate in Endodontics and M.S. from Indiana University in 2005. He is currently teaching at IUSD as a part-time faculty member, and joined Indianapolis Endodontics as an partner in July of 2007. Dr. Adams is married with two children and enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing golf, and hunting.

This is one outstanding operation! I had an appt. scheduled for Monday, but the pain became unbearable. I called and was blessed to be able to get in on Thursday in the week prior to the Monday appt. The staff was very professional, friendly, and courteous. The procedure went very well. Dr. Pfotenhauer asked throughout the procedure how I was doing and went to great lengths to minimize any pain. He did a wonderful job! His assistant Stacie was outstanding as well! Overall just a great experience and this was a root canal! Would hands down recommend this group to anyone!

What a horrible experience! I drove over an hour and a half to have my root canal redone, was told by the doctor they would set up a payment plan. When I showed up for my appointment they informed me they would not work with me, and recommended a place "that could work with my financial situation"

I am usually pretty relaxed at dentist but was getting a root canal this time and I had a lot of anxiety with this. I showed up went back and Dr. Adams went through everything with me even gave me the option to come back and be sedated. I just said let's get it over with! Everything went AWESOME I felt NOTHING and even though he said it was the hardest tooth he's done lol it felt like it was still only 30 mins! I could be more pleased with this office Dr. Adams and his amazing nurse he had with him! Highly recommend this office!

The team was awesome here!! Was in excruciating pain upon arriving and they made sure to give me an Injection to numb me immediately as soon as I seen them.. they really make you feel comfortable and at ease! Would highly recommended to anyone!! Not sure of the doctors name but he did an amazing job!

I was referred by my local dentist to visit Avon for a root canal prior to a crown fitting.
