Jose M. Mariscal, DDS is a Chicago native, growing up in the Albany Park neighborhood. He graduated from Lane Technical High School and completed his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He continued his education at the UIC College of Dentistry earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree along with a Bachelors of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Mariscal received an award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in 2009 and has taken advanced education courses in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, orthodontics, and implant surgery. He is actively pursuing a fellowship in the International Academy of Orthodontics.
Dr. Mariscal is a Diplomate of both the American and International Dental Implant Associations, which are awards given to members who demonstrate the highest standards in implant dentistry through their extensive training and dedication to their profession. He also has a Mastership from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Both of these honors are difficult to achieve and a small percentage of dentists can claim this commitment to their training.
Frank L. Munoz, D.D.S. passed away on Monday, December 26th, 2016. Dr. Munoz will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His boisterous laugh and caring spirit will forever be in our memory. He will always remain in our hearts and his legacy will live on through the In Smyle Family that he and his wife Lucy have created.
Carolina Boege, DMD was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and graduated from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 2008. While at USP, Dr. Carolina worked as an assistant in a variety of clinics, including general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, trauma center and oral and maxillofacial.
After graduating, Dr. Carolina decided to come to Chicago to pursue her career as a dentist in the US. While preparing to join the UIC program, she worked at Central DuPage Orthodontics and volunteered at the Chicago Dental Society clinic in Wheaton, IL. In 2014, she joined the Advanced Standing DMD program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and graduated with honors in 2016. Dr. Carolina was a recipient of the Alan C. Peterson scholarship and was nominated and chosen to be part of the OKU Honor Society.
Dr. Carolina is a certified provider of Invisalign and has been helping many patients achieve their dream smile. In 2019, she completed her certification for injectables, including Botox, Xeomin and dermal fillers used in the clinical treatment of TMJ and Clenching, as well as aesthetics such as gummy smile, crows feet, nasolabial folds (smile lines), and lip enhancement . In addition, Dr. Carolina has completed advanced training and continuing education in the areas of oral surgery, endodontics, posterior and anterior restorations, Invisalign, as well as dental implants.
In her free time, Dr. Carolina enjoys spending time with her family (she has 2 boys), fitness (avid strength training enthusiast), trying different cuisines (her fave is Mediterranean) and traveling (Australia is on her bucket list). Dr. Carolina is very happy to be a part of the In Smyle Dental family. She truly loves serving her patients by providing them oral health education, improving their overall health, and helping them to look and feel their absolute best .
