Dr. Richard J. Barton was born and raised in Henderson, NV. He earned his Bachelors in Psychology at Brigham Young University and his Doctorate from the University of Nebraska and enjoyed practicing dentistry in Henderson for many years. Dr. Barton is excited for the opportunity to see our patients at Imagine Family Dentistry, in St. George, UT. Dr. Barton is always involved with continuing education and stays current with the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Barton and his wife, Corinne, have five children and 12 grandchildren. Whenever he has free time, he loves to be with his family. He also loves to be in the mountains, especially in his favorite season, autumn. Dr. Barton is an avid sports fan and loves to discuss all kinds of sporting news and statistics with his patients.
Bret grew up in Morgan, Utah and graduated form Morgan High School in 1987. Bret joined the Army Reserves right out of high school. He had the opportunity to go to Korea with the Reserves which started his love of travel.
Bret then served a mission for his church from 1988 to 1990 in Brazil where he learned the importance of serving others. After his mission, Bret met his wife Vicki and they were married in January 1991. 3 kids and 30 years later they are still going strong.
Bret did not know what he wanted to do as a career after his mission, so he joined the Army full time and was stationed in San Antonio, TX where he was trained as a dental lab tech and after his training was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. Bret was honorably discharged in 1994.
Bret worked as a dental lab tech for a while, and then decided that he would rather be a dentist. Bret graduated from Weber State with a degree in Microbiology in 2000. Because of young family obligations, Bret did not enter dental school until 2006 and graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2010.
Bret had a strong desire to set up a practice in an under served area and with the help of a classmate he found a small town in Southwest Kansas. Brets father-in-law came from Utah to Kansas and built a clinic where he practiced for 11 year, until his desire to move closer to home and family became too strong. He sold his practice in April of 2021.
Some of Brets favorite things are traveling, snow and water skiing, hiking, fishing, horses and dogs. Bret and Vicki have traveled to many countries, two of their favorites are Costa Rica and the Cook Island. Bret started to snow ski when he was very young, and enjoys sharing it with his family. Since moving back to Utah, Bret and his family have started hiking again, considering there were no mountains in Kansas, and you could see your dog running away for three days. Bret grew up fishing with his dad and enjoys being out on the lakes in rivers. Bret had three horses and a mule in Kansas and enjoyed working with them and gaining their trust. Unfortunately he had to sell them when they left Kansas and looks forward to buying more. Bret and his family have 3 dogs. One little rescue that rules the house and two big ones we call farm dogs.

I went to this dentist in 2019 to have dental work done after I had my first born son (pregnancy was not kind to my teeth). I was told by the office that the insurance I had would cover the costs of everything I needed to have done. After having the dental work done, I was then informed that nothing was covered. I was charged $2,350 for work that I thought was covered by insurance. All that was done ended up needing to be redone at a different dentist due to the fillings being so choppy and sharp on the edges around my permanent retainer right in the front of my mouth. It was so bad that I couldn't fit floss through my teeth. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone!!! It's a waste of money and time.

I don't know the names of the people who work with me but I was so scared of my dentist appointment I had yesterday and they walked me through it and talked me through my fear of needles with the shots I got, were very understanding and encouraging and I'm not even worried about my next appointment with them in 2 weeks, honestly the best dentist I've been too in all my 19 years, medicaid friendly, love this dentist, already recommended them to a few people, love it!!

I have had very good experiences while going to Imagine Family Dentistry. Staff is friendly, pay attention to detail, and make sure they follow all safety guidelines for current covid-19. Megan is great and so is Dr. Holman. I am a hot mess with my teeth but the staff didn't recommend anything that doesn't absolutely need attention. Highly satisfied. Riitta N.

I want to highly recommend Imagine Family Dentistry, Dr. Barton/Brittney and the rest of their staff. Chemo treatment had destroyed a few of my teeth and I was having problems with a few others. They were just wonderful. They pulled one tooth and I felt so much better, the kindness was just so refreshing, as it is nerve racking when you have dental issues and are in pain. They filled a couple other teeth and by Christmas I will have replacement teeth in the front so I can eat and have a smile again. The concern and friendliness made me feel like I was family. Thank you and Happy Holidays

I brought in a client that has some developmental delays. The compassion, patience, and kindness shown by all the staff was super refreshing. Dr. Holman was awesome and his hygienist Holly is my clients new best friend. I appreciated the office very much for their efficiency and customer service.

No one enjoys going to the dentist, but we all have to, at least twice a year. I have to say I was lucky my sister-in-law recommended Imagine. Everyone there is great!!!! I highly recommend them to anyone in need of dental work or cleaning.

Going to the dentist can be quite nerve racking, and can be an experience that causes anxiety in many. Dr. Barton and his team have created such a relaxed and enjoyable office setting that is is hard to be anxious. Ahsha (front desk) is compassionate, helpful and friendly. Exactly what a first impression should be! Ashley (dental assistant) knows her stuff and does a wonderful job calming the nerves and prepping for the doctor. Dr. Barton brings an energetic and positive vibe into the room. He is professional and kind and tells you like it is. Thanks guys for an awesome experience!

I went in to give support to my wife for a procedure she needed. While their, they asked about my well being, and when I was confused about what my insurance would cover they looked up everything before recommending I get a tooth extracted. I was not ever pressured, but instead given a warm consultation at no expense. I decided to go through with the impromptu procedure only to realize that it took Dr. Barton 5 mins to complete without any real pain. I shook his hand and the hand of the dental assistant Morgan and sincerely said thankyou. I never have to worry about that tooth causing anymore pain. I have had problems with that tooth for 5 years before the extraction. Now my teeth are healthy again and I won't have to worry about biting any food the wrong way ever again. I recommend the highest possible rating. I wasn't even the patient they were suppose to see, but they got me in immediately because they cared.

Dr. Barton is by far the best dentist I've ever been to. Him and his dental assistant Ansha meet me at office at 10:00at night to fix a filling that broke off. It would have been fine but they went out of their way to for me. All of the staff are amazing they make you feel like you are at home and apart of the family. They take the time to explain everything. I look forward to going to the dentist and I'm thankful for finding Imagine Family Dentistry.
