When it comes to the health and appearance of your teeth and gums, you have three options. You can continue to suffer discomfort, embarrassment or pain. Or, you can wait for an emergency when you are experiencing a lot of pain and perhaps make a hasty decision that you might regret later. Or, you can address your issues now by discussing all of your options with experienced specialists.

By taking care of your dental health nowrather than lateryou can make an informed choice when you arent distracted by the pain of an emergency situation. Additionally, you know that addressing your dental health issues now will always involve less work (and expense) than waiting until your condition worsens.

There are several things that can cause dry mouth. A few of the most common causes include medications, diseases, medical treatments. Lifestyle, surgery, and dehydration. Prescription medication is one of the leading causes for dryness of the mouth. Specifically, allergy, cold, pain, diarrhea, and anxiety medication can cause severe mouth dryness. Sedatives and muscle relaxers are also medications that can cause dry mouth.

Another cause of dry mouth is infections and diseases. If you suffer from an infection, your bodys response may reduce the amount of saliva in your mouth, therefore causing you to have mouth dryness. Diseases such as HIV/AIDS, anemia, arthritis, diabetes, and cystic fibrosis can all cause chronic mouth dryness.

Dehydration is one of the leading causes of dry mouth. Not drinking enough water and getting adequate nutrients can lead to this condition. It is important to note that conditions such as excessive sweating, high fever, blood loss, vomiting, and diarrhea can all cause severe dehydration leading to mouth dryness.

I was truly impressed the Dr. Actually had me dialed in within minuets and listened to what I needed. I am for once going to enjoy going to go to a dentist. The ladies working there were positive and very helpful. I can't wait to go back.

Saliva plays an important role in your body. It helps to limit and control the amount of bacterial growth in your mouth. Tooth decay is prevented by the acids in your saliva. Chewing, swallowing, and digestion is made easier with saliva. Your saliva contains important enzymes that aid in the process of digestion.

Symptoms may vary according to the individual, but there a few common symptoms that include frequent thirst and bad breath. Due to the lack of saliva, other symptoms include hoarseness, a dry tongue, a burning sensation in your mouth, cracked lips, and trouble tasting.

Dry mouth symptoms can be as severe as affecting the way you speak and problems chewing. Some people may feel a dry and itching sensation in the back of their throat. Sores may appear in your mouth because of dryness.

If you suffer from dry mouth, there can also be health risks associated with the condition. Tooth decay may result from prolonged dryness of the mouth. Your teeth depend on the acid and enzymes produced by your saliva and in the absence of these nutrients, your teeth can be in danger of decaying. Also, gum disease is another potential health risk of an overly dry mouth. Thrush and mouth sores are possible if this condition goes untreated.

Once you determine you have dry mouth, there are immediate steps you should take. First, always consult a physician to determine your diagnosis and receive a care plan to treat the problem. When treating mouth dryness, the first step is usually figuring out the cause. In this case, the management of diseases or medical conditions is pertinent. Because certain diseases and illnesses can cause excessive mouth dryness this is the first step. The management of diseases can help to reduce or eliminate mouth dryness.

Next, the focus is on preventing other problems from arising like gingivitis and tooth decay. To help with this process, the best treatment is to help increase the production of saliva. Ultimately, this can either eliminate your symptoms or help alleviate them. Adjusting the dose and frequency of some medications can help reduce dry mouth.

Some treatments can include simple changes in your everyday routine. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day can help reduce mouth dryness. Also, using toothpaste that contain the ingredient Fluoride can prevent dryness. Dont forget to floss! Flossing helps to remove left over food and bacteria that can further contribute to mouth dryness. Visit the dentist at least twice a year for a full cleaning.

At this point, I've only had x-rays and an exam, but the new patient experience was great. The staff is very friendly, the office is modern and comfortable, and the whole process was quick, painless, and smooth. If you live in Ahwatukee, I would recommend this dental office.

Very unprofessional dental. Creates more problems than you have, so that you keep coming back to them. My teeth constantly hurt now.

I had a lovely dental cleaning experience. My hygienist was gentle, thoughtful and very knowledgeable. Dr. Shaw was gentle and informative. I've had very positive experiences in this office. I've had a lifetime of questionable dentistry. It's a pleasure to feel comfortable in a dental office.

The employees were very informative and helpful and they got right to work on getting my dentures started. I am very happy with what has been done so far. Update. Everything i said before is still true but i was very disappointed in the final outcome of my denture's. From the beginning i specifically said i wanted my teeth to show when i smiled. But when it came to the last fitting they didn't hardly show at all and the dentist told me there was nothing they could do about it when I mentioned it. He said if there's anything I want this to be out more but that was all that was said . I have a mental disability and am very scared of confrontation i don't do well at discussing something when there is a discrepancy. So i just accepted what was said. And that was that. The other day I found my old dentures and I was looking at them and that dentist could have made them show all the lab had to do was make the gums longer.so I am very disappointed in the final outcome and i cant wear the bottoms. Other than the final outcome everything else was great the service the people except for the doctor that told me he couldn't fix my teeth

Ok so 5 days ago I wrote a review on this place because my 22 year old daughter went in and was in the worst pain ever, she had a year old root canal that was killing her, they told her they wouldn't touch it even though they did it there but as the X-ray showed there was a piece of metal left in her tooth, which they said is normal, that's not normal to me and if they would have told her she would have been upset and told me, they said it was in the notes, how convenient , notes that they came up with, poor baby was In The worst pain ever and I had to take her to the emergency room twice, they ended up giving her pain reliever and antibiotics, they said they told her about the metal piece in her tooth but that was a lie, she didn't have the money for the crown she just wanted it pulled he sent her somewhere else and they said they wouldn't do it either, and for her to go back to imagine dental, she called and they said they would pull it now but they will only pull it if I remove my post... what, now blackmail really!! She won't go back there I promise you that and I will be reporting these people, this isn't ok, what is wrong with this picture...

I am so upset with this place, about a year ago I took my 22 year old daughter who was in pain to get a root canal, she's was on acchss so she would have to pay for the crown, she was never able to afford it and about a week ago her tooth that they did the root canal started killing her, she made an appointment to go back and just pull it, when she got there the dentist X-rayed it and said he couldn't touch it because he looked back on the notes and some drill metal thing broke off and was still in there and that was what was causing her excruciating pain, she was never told about it, ever, they lied and said the notes said she was told about it and was ok with it, huh? Who would be ok with that?who does that? Never ever again, they gave her nothing for the pain and just sent her on her way..beware of this place

Friendly customer focused dental office. The new dentist Dr. Marsh was professional and efficient, and yet still found time to spend a few minutes chit chatting to learn more about me as a patient. I returned for a filling and he and his assistant worked well together with gentle and expert hands. I'm definitely a satisfied customer and I would definitely recommend this dentist to anyone.
