After graduating from Oregon State University, Dr. Merzenich went on to receive his DMD from Oregon Health and Sciences University. He always keeps up with the latest advancements in patient care and technology and is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Oregon Dental Association. He has been the recipient of the James Carter Memorial Surgery Award, among many other professional awards.

When he is not working in the office, he can often be found on his tree farm. His dedication to his tree farm has earned him Tree Farmer of the Year twice. He has also been named Grand National Champion by Woodmizer for cutting and donating all the wood utilized in the construction of Baxter Hill Community Hall in Salem back in 2011. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, being a grandpa, and spending time with his wife, Nancy.

After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in anatomy and physiology, Allen Rasmussen moved to Portland to begin his education at OHSU School of Dentistry. During his time there, he was able to cultivate many meaningful relationships with his patients and create a welcoming culture of understanding and partnership. By working with a close-knit team of care providers he earned his doctorate of dental medicine. Dr. Rasmussen takes pride not only in the care he provides, but in the time spent educating and empowering his patients. This is all part of his mission to provide high quality care that is specific and unique to each of his patients.

since 1994, Dr. Makkattil has been practicing dentistry all over the world in countries such as India, the United Kingdom, and the USA. His credentials include certificates for both Periodontics and Implantology with degrees from Bharati Vidyapeeths Dental College and Indiana University School of Dentistry.

He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and Marion and Polk County Dental Society. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys listening to a variety of music and staying active by playing tennis.

Trisa has been in the dental field for over 20 years as an Office Manager and Registered Dental Assistant. She has worked in the pediatric, general cosmetic, oral, and periodontal surgery side of dentistry.

Her hobbies include baking, watching movies, listening to music, enjoying art, and spending time with family. She and her family recently relocated to Salem from Southern California to enjoy a new way of life. She looks forward to teaching her 2 kids how to fish, camp, and enjoy Oregons beautiful wilderness.

After 44 years in the field as a Clinical Dental Hygienist and dental hygiene educator / administrator, DeeAnne continues to use both her expertise and passion for all things dental hygiene to guide her patients towards oral wellness.

Greg Dodds is a dental hygienist at Idylwood Dental. Born in Ogden, Utah, Greg lived in Utah and northern Arizona until 1983. In 1984, he and his wife Jacque moved to Salem to pursue her education in Dental Hygiene. He followed in her footsteps in 1991, and graduated from OHSU in 1995 with a BS in Dental Hygiene. His goal at Idylwood Dental is to provide the best dental care while providing maximum comfort.

Jacque Dodds is a hygienist at Idylwood Dental. She worked as a Dental Receptionist & OTJ trained Assistant for three years. After moving to Oregon, she graduated from Portland Community College in 1986. She worked full-time as a dental hygienist for 10 years before having kids.

Jacque and her husband Greg, who is also a hygienist at Idylwood, moved to Salem in the fall of 1983 to attend college. They have two wonderful children. In her free time, she loves reading, puzzling, family games and anything outdoors.
