Dr. Trevor S. Bonilla was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. Following graduation from high school, he attended Northwood University in Cedar Hill, where he was a member of the baseball team. After injuring his shoulder, he returned to Amarillo to complete his undergraduate training at West Texas A & M, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Dr. Bonilla attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he ranked number one in his class all four years. After graduating in 1998, he began his specialty training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, which he completed in 2000.
In dental school, Dr. Bonilla was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, which promotes and recognizes scholarship and character among students of dentistry. He received many awards, including the Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry, but his greatest and most notable accomplishments were graduating summa cum laude and receiving the Valedictorian Award.
After completing his specialty training, Dr. Bonilla practiced in Amarillo for two years. While there, he met his wife, Kathleen, who is from Dallas. They have lived in the Dallas metroplex since 2002 and have three children, Avery, Cade, and Emily. In his spare time, Dr. Bonilla enjoys spending time with his family, working out, skiing, and sports especially football, basketball and baseball.
Priding himself on providing the best possible orthodontic care for his patients, Dr. Bonilla focuses on the latest technology to create beautiful smiles for all his patients. Although creating a beautiful smile is his goal for every patient, the most rewarding part of practicing orthodontics is the relationship that is created with patients and their families. Great experience with Coppell Orthodontics with Dr. B and all the staffs are nice especially Jorge. He is alway very helpful and kind. He knows everything, he does everything right and he is very professional. He's a true expert in his field. Jorge is incredible!! I would highly recommend this place!!

As a then 36 year old getting braces, to say I had some trepidation is an understatement. I am so thankful Coppell Orthodontics and Dr. Bonilla was one of the providers covered under my insurance! The whole process has been easier knowing I was going to a facility with a great staff that really do put you at ease. My treatment is now coming to an end, after feeling like I would never get there. I will miss the friendliness of the staff- it is rare to see people that genuinely seem to like what they do and where they work. I would recommend them to anyone, child or adult! Kudos to a job well done!

I've been to many doctors offices over the years and this is by far my favorite one!! They're always on time and the entire staff couldn't be nicer! I'll miss coming in when my journey is over!

I don't know what happened to the quality of work, and I am too upset to write about my 2 hr visit on Sat 9-24-22. When I am in a better mood I will elaborate. I feel somewhat better to finish. I was here for my appointment to put on my bottom braces. There were all kinds of issues and dr Bonilla came over several times and there was some conversation about the glue used on the brackets. Something about this glue is for veneers, this is for porcelain. To me it sounded like the wrong bonding glue was used. Numerous times while using the wand thing she was staring into space holding the wand over my mouth, but not on my brackets. At some points she was just holding the wand and it never beeped. I'm really annoyed at this point because I see things are going bad. The wire was removed and put back in several times. Some drilling took place on my back teeth and at one point the top and bottom front teeth didn't touch. I asked the woman how am I supposed to eat if my teeth don't touch. This experience has been such a nightmare. I am not sure what or why things have changed, but I have NO TRUST in this business and now have to get this stuff pulled out because they are poking the inside of my mouth creating sores and it's difficult to eat. Such an inconvenience and such a disappointment. I was sooo happy to finally be able to treat myself to braces and all I have are feelings of anger, disappointment, frustration, and tears. I am so upset. The quality of customer service is nonexistent. Update: The doctor did call and apologize. I do appreciate that. Had a horrible experience on Monday. Once done he didn't explain anything, say hi thanks for coming, NOTHING. However he did strike up a conversation with a child that was next to me and asked her how her parents were doing and where they were at. As someone paying thousands of dollars out of pocket for braces, I think I should've at least been greeted. I am grateful that at least the receptionist was nice. She has long black hair. I told her weekday appointments are difficult for me due to work. This contributed to why I picked here over Bliss Ortho since they don't have Sat appointments. She looked and looked and found a Saturday slot for me despite the other lady telling me no Saturdays where available. It's not a good feeling to be ignored as a paying customer.

Dr Bonilla and his staff are fantastic! They're welcoming, friendly, and professional. I worked with a specialist there named Jorge. He's a true expert in his field. He made the installation process seamless and easy. From the very beginning he explained to me what to expect and showed me step by step what to do. I kept getting food stuck in between a certain tooth and he showed me what to do and how to fix it. It was a huge relief. Now every time I go for a check in I ask for Jorge because I know I'll be in good hands. I've been a patient now for over a year and we've even become friends. Thank you Dr Bonilla, Jorge, and to your entire staff. I'm very happy I decided to move forward and to go with you guys!

Can not say enough good things about this practice. 2 of our kids have completed treatment here and when our next needs it, we will return. 1 son had light crowding and needed small adjustments. The other had an awful underbite that could potentially need surgery as an adult if not corrected. We started with Bonilla and over the course of years, we got everything corrected. He just had his braces removed today and his smile and bite is perfect. We highly recommend this practice and all the staff. Every visit was a success and we appreciate the work received.

Dr B. & his staff are absolutely awesome!!! Very nice, professional, & super sweet. They learn who you are & always greet you by name. They get you in & out quickly on appointments, & when you need a quick repair they get you worked in. You will be greatly appreciative having them on your side for all your orthodontist needs. They really are a super sweet staff, & affordable. You will not be disappointed having them take care of you.

First off I want to start off by saying that Dr. Bonilla is a wonderful orthodontist. He's always nice, cares about his work, and is very knowledgeable. My issue is with the main lady at the front desk. Her lack of knowledge regarding her profession has cost me a lot of money and time. My issues were not handled in a timely manner, things weren't billed efficiently, and she denied me the ability to speak with Dr. Bonilla directly when I requested it. I've dealt with a lot of inconvenience through this process and I really wish someone would have shared this with me prior to picking this orthodontist office.

Honestly, this is the best place to go for braces! The front staff is so welcoming, you feel at home when you talk with them! Abel and Jorge were the primary guys that worked on my teeth and they both were so gentle! The way they work shows how much experience they have; I've never had any issues with them being too harsh or hard on my teeth, they always made sure I was comfortable! Today was the day I got my braces off and I couldn't have been happier! Abel finished my last appointment and I'm so glad he did, bc although I was ready to get these braces off, I was kinda scared it was going to hurt lol he worked his magic and my teeth feel like porcelain! Last but not least, huge shoutout to Dr. Bonilla dealing with all my broken brackets and my half time rubber band wearing! He was always so calm and cool, and made sure my small requests were met! So happy to have went to this office for my braces!

It's nice to come to a dentist office without feeling uncomfortable. Everybody here makes you feel like you can be yourself. I really appreciate how they would make small talk with me to make me comfortable!
