Good and bad at this place. The hygienists who cleans teeth - Christy I believe - is worth her weight in gold. She deserves a raise! The others? Well they replaced a back molar crown and it never fit right. It had a 10mm pocket. Decay, of course progressed. After x-rays and visual exams, finally Christy points out some build up or cement at the 10mm deep pocket. She cleaned it out. It got better. But then referrals to periodontist, then endodontist resulted in a root canal. And talk of losing the tooth! Now, a year later, a portion of the replacement crown cracked off. Back to where we started and sadly, after the dental hygienists efforts, the pocket has closed to 5mm.

I've been going to this dentist for a long time now. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of and happy. Everyone from the front desk associates to the dental hygienist has always taken such great care of me. I'm super grateful for the environment that this office has provided.

Everyone was so friendly. I received a crown and the procedure was pain free. They didn't push any unneeded procedures.

They always do a great job, but they will always try and upsell you on everything and get you in on a 3 month return trips. Moved to a new Dentist that did what was needed and didn't sell me services like a car dealership. Much happier.

This review mainly covers the orthodontics area of Ideal Dental of Highland Village and will hopefully shed some light for others regarding my experience with Invisalign treatment through Ideal Dental. I've been on Invisalign treatment for a little over a year now and feel that there are some things that need to be addressed and improved upon with the way the orthodontics team runs their shop. Initiation of Treatment: When I first started Invisalign, I had my attachments and elastic hooks placed on my teeth. This was handled entirely by the technician/assistant and not the doctor. Instructions were not entirely clear about how often I needed to change out my elastics (which I later found out should be every time I remove the Invisalign trays for cleaning my teeth). Needless to say, I felt that my bite correction was taking much longer because of this. I highly suggest anyone that embarks on the Invisalign journey to join the r/Invisalign subreddit. You will find this community to be very helpful and get you answers quicker than you can from Ideal Dental. This leads me to my second point. Timeliness and Communication: A few days after I started my treatment, I had one of my elastic hooks and an attachment fall off. This is normal and happens occasionally, apparently, from reading others' comments in the r/Invisalign subreddit. I called Ideal Dental and tried to get seen ASAP to address this. Unfortunately, the orthodontics team is so busy and they travel between office locations. So, good luck trying to schedule something in right away. It honestly seems like the team is overbooked as I've also had to wait 10-20 minutes most times I've had an appointment. I also tried to contact Dr. Patel directly to bring up some concerns I had during my treatment but this proved to be an extraordinarily difficult endeavor. I wish there was a way to exchange communication via email or text directly with the doctor. I felt like the front desk receptionists, as nice as they are, try their very best to block off any communication to the doctor. Unfortunate Errors: When I received my refinement trays, due to several teeth having tracking issues, the technician that was redoing some of my attachments on my teeth decided to start me on Invisalign tray # 13 instead of tray #1. Needless to say I went through some excruciating pain for a couple of weeks. That same technician also improperly placed several attachments so my trays did not seat properly on my teeth. I had to endure this pain and inconvenience for much longer than I wanted because getting scheduled to see the orthodontic team once again proved to be challenging. These mistakes should not have happened if there were proper protocols in place with verifying what tray I would be leaving the office with along with verifying the proper attachment placement. This should have been an easy spot check. Most recently, I was supposed to be scheduled for my typical 2 month check-up. I called the office to verify my appointment and once again, I was disappointed when I found out that I had no appointment, even though this was confirmed with me the last time I was there. I sort of expected something like this to happen at this point because it's become almost normal for me. Anyway, I hope my review will help Ideal Dental improve and this can be seen as constructive criticism. I do enjoy having Dr. Patel as my ortho as she is very kind, patient and understanding. I just wish that I could communicate directly with her between appointments when I had some concerns during my treatment. Additionally, improvements with certain team members and definitely with scheduling can be made.

The tech was unfriendly and unnecessarily rough on the gums and teeth.

Poor service. Always trying to sell you on some procedure. A different dentist shows up every visit. Waited an hour and still didn't get my cleaning.

Wow! In and out so quick and they were so patient with me. I hadn't been to the dentist in 15 years. So it was like taking care of a child adult who asked every question and didn't know what to do. But they sure made me feel comfortable. 100% will go back for every dental issue <3

Ideal Dental is just the best. My hygienist is Krista, and she is patient, gentle, and really knowledgeable. I went in for my regular cleaning today. She makes me want to take better care of my teeth, and that's quite an accomplishment! The dentists explain everything so clearly, just everyone is really good.

showed up for my appointment 10 min early. they didn't bring me back to a room until 30 min after my appt time and then a person didn't start working on my xrays and teeth cleaning for another 10 min. I find it unacceptable to request patients come early to be kept waiting 40 min. the staff was not friendly.
