We feel honored to be able to provide orthodontic care in Pocatello, Blackfoot, and Soda Springs, Idaho. If youre looking for a true Orthodontist in Idaho, were the ones for you. Thats why we give back to the communities that have embraced our practice. After all, we dont just work in Southeast Idaho, Dr. McMinn, Dr. Brown and the rest of the team at Idaho Orthodontics call it home.

Dr. Jeff McMinn was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. He attended and received his bachelors degree from Idaho State University. While attending Idaho State, He met his wife Maja and they were married prior to his graduating. He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry in 2002. He continued his education in Pittsburgh, doing his orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh.

While in Pittsburgh He and his wife had 2 children.Dr. McMinn and his family returned to Pocatello in 2005 when he joined the Idaho Orthodontics office working alongside Dr. Eric Johnson. He has loved working at Idaho Orthodontics and looks forward to working there for many years to come.

Since joining Idaho Orthodontics, he and his wife have added two more children to their family.Dr. McMinn and Maja stay busy supporting their 4 children in their various activities. They can usually be found at the soccer fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts or on the mountain bike trails. They both like to volunteer to help their childrens teams.

When free time can be found, Dr. McMinn enjoys being outdoors. During summer and fall he spends as much time as he can either mountain biking or road biking. He also enjoys water sports such as waterskiing. In the winter he enjoys staying active on the ski slopes.

Dr. Taylor Brown was born and raised in the crisp air of the mountain west in Farmington, Utah. He attended Utah State University, receiving scholarships for both academics and leadership. The best part of his college experience was meeting his way-too-good-for-him wife, Tessa, an Idaho native who showed him how to properly prepare a Russet. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Nutrition Science. His major nutritional pursuit is to get chocolate added to the 5 main food groups. He finds Oreos and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups particularly irresistible.

Dr. Brown went on to attend dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. While there, he and Tessa were blessed with 2 superhero boys, Boston and Bennett. While in dental school Dr. Brown learned a lot about teeth, and received several awards for clinical and academic excellence. But more importantly, he learned how much he enjoys taking care of people. This led him to volunteer at and eventually run a reduced rate night clinic for those in need. He loves getting to know his patients and will not settle for anything less than an exceptional patient experience.

After dental school, Dr. Brown was selected to receive his orthodontic training from the prestigious, top ranked program at Virginia Commonwealth University. There he received specialized training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, as well as his masters degree in oral biology. Of all the education in Dr. Browns life, he is most grateful for his two years at VCU. Surrounded by the best and brightest in the world, he learned how to practice orthodontics with the highest level of clinical excellence. In his residency, Dr. Brown was a member of the VCU Craniofacial/Facial Reconstruction Team and regularly reviewed literature for The Angle Orthodontist, one of the most prominent orthodontic journals worldwide. He is well versed in traditional braces, Invisalign, clear braces, orthognathic surgery, cleft palate/craniofacial syndromes, and sleep apnea. Dr. Brown was personally mentored by the #1 Invisalign provider in the North America, and has experience treating cases from simple to complex cases with Invisalign.

The Brown family was dramatically improved by the birth of their first girl, Summer. As their only child born in Pocatello, she already claims favorite child status and her parents dont see that changing anytime soon. She is often seen with pigtails, made possible by very tiny orthodontic rubber bands!

Outside the office Dr. Brown loves to do all things Idaho, including skiing, mountain biking, and fishing. He enjoys playing tennis, especially with his sweetheart. He often submits to his boys unyielding requests to play Wrestle-Mania and will do so until he no longer has an unfair advantage! Dr. Brown loves to travel with his family, especially when new and interesting food is involved.Interesting Fact: A car drove straight through Dr. Browns house when he was 4 years old. Feel free to ask him for details and pictures!

They were friendly, professional, and my daughter's teeth look great. It was wonderful that they come once a month to Soda Springs so we didn't have to travel for most of my daughter's appointments.

My teeth going in were absolute garbage! I was really freaked out when my dad said he wanted me to get braces because of all the stereotypes, but I can assure you, the journey was far from scary! Getting my braces on was a breeze about three years ago. The staff there answered all of my questions, as I am a very curious person. Im happy that there weren't any surprises going in. All of the brushing supplies, except for the toothpaste, was absolutely free so I was never worried about maintenance. All of my checkups were easy and short. They would always schedule an appointment when I had time. I never missed school or work! After checkups every 8 weeks over the period of three years (I extended it longer than two years because I suck at wearing bands), my teeth are damn near perfect. Because I failed to wear the bands, which in retrospect weren't a big deal, My center line was off by a millimeter. Dr. Brown said that if I had the patience they could get my perfect literally perfect. I said I just wanted them off, and they promptly removed them easily with no pain. They took some impressions and I was to meet them the next day to collect my retainers. The bottom one fit perfectly, but the top one had some issues. They simply scanned my top teeth with a high tech camera and that new retainer would be sent out to me soon! All in all, Idaho Orthodontics are really talented and professional at their craft. I have never had a bad experience, or even slight discomfort while visiting both locations. All of the staff are experts and really friendly. I highly recommend this place! A thousand thanks to them for fixing my smile!! :)
