Idaho Falls Oral & Facial Surgery offers a full range of oral surgery procedures, including dental implant placement, wisdom teeth extraction, bone grafting procedures, and many other treatments to preserve your beautiful smile. The practice was started by Dr. Riley Hicks in 1996. Now, Dr. Gregory McGee, works in close collaboration with our highly trained staff to provide quality patient care at our practice in Idaho Falls, ID.
Our team specializes in dental implant procedures to replace missing teeth securely and safely. When you lose a tooth, a dental implant is the closest replacement option to a natural tooth. Most patients find that they can hardly tell the difference between their natural teeth and the implants. The implants can be used to support one or many replacement teeth, depending on your situation. If you need wisdom teeth removal, jaw surgery, or other oral and facial surgery services, our team is more than qualified to provide treatment. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons receive the highest anesthesia training of any dental professional, and they receive years of hospital-based surgical training to provide safe and efficient care with optimal treatment outcomes.
Dr. Riley Hicks received his Doctorate of Dentistry from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. He served a one year fellowship in Oral& Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He returned to the University of Iowa to complete his four year hospital based residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Hicks is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Hicks maintains many professional memberships including Fellowship in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Idaho Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Team for Implantology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Idaho State Dental Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon the National Honorary Dental Society. He and his family enjoy all the outdoor benefits Idaho has to offer including skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring the state on motorcycles.
Dr. McGee grew up on a cattle ranch in Northern New Mexico. He prefers to keep things simple, showing kindness towards others and the friendly community in which he lives and works. He is happy pursuing his passion for oral surgery in the Idaho Falls area.
Dr. McGee received his bachelors degree in biology from Brigham Young University in 1999. He went on to dental school to receive his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree at Oregon Health and Science University, graduating in 2002. Dr. McGee traveled to attend Denver Health Medical Center to complete his oral and maxillofacial surgical residency.
All surgeons must fulfill a surgical residency program after completing their undergrad and extended education. During the residency program, he gained extensive training in the administration of anesthesia to provide pain-free and comfortable oral procedures for patients.
Dr. McGee received training in routine treatments such as dental implants, extraction of wisdom teeth, bone grafting, and more. He finished the residency program in 2006 and practiced at Rio Grande Oral Surgery, in New Mexico until 2018. He moved his family to Idaho and now practices in Idaho Falls.
Dr. McGee became a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2008. He believes in furthering his knowledge of oral surgery and the advanced methods used to preserve patients smiles. He is also a member of the American Dental Association.

Dr. McGee is so sweet, if you are nervous or uncomfortable with medical stuff, he is the person to go to, his staff goes above and beyond to take care of patients, my husband and I both having our surgeries with them, kind gentle care, great people.

Dr. Gregory McGee is an amazing oral and maxillofacial dental surgeon. I was so impressed by his knowledge and expertise when he performed my dental surgery. I felt very calm and confident during my procedure. He is also a very kind and genuine person. His staff is also wonderful to work with. I just had my son's wisdom teeth out a few months ago. I was nervous because I was reliant on Facebook reviews when choosing. We went with Dr. McGee at Idaho Falls Oral And Facial Surgery. Listen, this guy has THE BEST bedside manner. He did an exceptionally great job and was an absolute pleasure to be around. He has the process down to a science. He made My son feel very comfortable. I don't often recommend...I recommend this guy. His staff was very helpful too... it made the whole process very easy.

Dr McGee and his staff took excellent care of our daughter for her procedure. They got her in right away and went above and beyond for all of her needs. Staff was prompt and kind. Dr. McGee was great. He explained things thoroughly during my visit and answered all my questions. He made sure I was sent home with all the appropriate medications and instructions. He read my file and remembered me and my case each visit. When I had a concern for a tooth post op he got me in quickly to check it. I was very impressed with the billing. His billing went through quickly and was completely hassle free.

Dr. McGee and staff are by far the absolute best in Southeast Idaho. Dr. McGee spent time with both my husband and I explaining the wisdom tooth extraction plan. He talked to me afterwards about how the procedure went and to see if I had any questions. Both times we've been to him he has been kind, compassionate, and honest. I was especially impressed that after both appointments he personally called after hours to check up on his patient. As an added bonus, we had overpaid and they promptly sent a reimburse check. Absolutely outstanding customer service.

Wow- best experience ever! Staff was helpful and friendly, I only waited a couple minutes for my appointment and I was on my way in no time at all. Dr. McGee was able to show me what I needed done and why. I needed a tooth pulled/implant, which I was dreading, but it turned out to be quick and basically pain free. So glad I trusted an oral surgeon to get things done right the first time. Highly recommend!

My varsity baseball son Tyson thought it would be OK to pitch a few to his buddy without an L-screen or even his glove on. Yep, he took a line drive to the jaw and we got to meet Dr. McGee at our dentist's recommendation. From beginning to end, Greg was personable, thoughtful and so obviously knowledgable that we had every confidence the surgery would be as well done as could be. He made sure we understood all the ins & outs including walking us thru the images. To top it off, he sprinkled in just the right amount of humor to take the edge off. Now, a year and a half later, Tyson doesn't even think about his jaw. Not that the pain memory doesn't inform some of his choices(!) but everything works as it should: teeth line up, chewing is no issue, there's no bump on his jawbone, smile is normal, etc. We couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you, Greg & team, for taking such good care of Tyson and, by extension, the worried mom and (slightly) concerned father.

New to Idaho, I was able to get in to see Dr McKee in a reasonable time frame for a problem with an implant. Caring office staff and Dr. McKee listened to my choice as to how to take care of this. All there were kind, caring, and Dr. McKee even called that evening to check up on how I was doing. My gratitude to all of them for making this a positive experience.
