Dr. Hyun grew up in greater Los Angeles area and went to Reseda High school in San Fernando Valley. He spent four years majoring in biology at UC Riverside from 1983 to 1987. Having passion for helping people indiscomfort he attended USC dental school and received his DDS degree in 1992.
After getting clinical experiences at various types of offices hepurchased his first office in San Diego in 1996. After many successful years in San Diego office Dr. Hyun started a brand new office in Poway in 2006 with latest equipments and state of the art designed office.
Dr. Hyun believes in conservative treatment plans which involves minimally invasive approach to dentistry. Since many patients come to dental office with much apprehension, Dr. Hyun treats each patient in most tender ways to ensure they are most comfortable during each visit. He never hurries during procedure but takes his time to make sure best possible work is done to his patients under most stress free setting.
Dr. Hyun believes in continuing education in order to keep up with the latest techniques and materials. He spends many hours during the year to accomplish this. He has received certificates from Nobel Biocare mini residency program for implant dentistry and also from Osstem implant training institute. Every year he attends continuing education courses at usc dental school to keep up with latest advancements in cosmetic dentistry and other topics.
Dr. Hyun is happily married and is a father of three boys and a girl out of which two are twins. His faith is in Christianity and once or twice a year he spends couple of days in Baja Mexico doing charity dental work on underprivileged kids. When he is not working at the office he enjoys playing basketball with his boys or playing golf with his friends.He also enjoys listening to latest music with his kids on I-touch.
Marti has been with Dr. Hyun from the beginning. With over 20 years experience in the dental field, she has a vast knowledge of working with ppo's and indemnity insurance. She's bilingual in english and spanish and enjoys working with our patients. She spends her free time with her son, enjoys reading and listening to classical music.

We have a modern sterilization system that surpasses OSHA requirements. The source of water for our dental units is distilled water (bottled water), which removes any chance of contamination from regular tap water like that used in most dental offices. We also offer digital x-rays.
