UV sleeves are Dr. Jens vision of the new hat, a UV protective garment to reduce cases of Melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers on the arms. Dr Jen is particularly proud of encouraging her patients to have regular total body skin examinations and proud of detecting so many early Melanomas (Melanoma in situ) each year in her patients, which generally do not spread and are simply treated with surgery. However, she would like her patients to continue what they love best, but be sun smart and sun protected while doing so. Her passionate effort to develop these sleeves is to have a greater impact on society rather than just in her practice and reduce the incidence of these cancers worldwide.
It is my hope that fewer patients will present with these actinic (sun damage) changes as they adopt an easy, comfortable method of sun protection using my sleeves. It is so simple to avoid these life long effects which lead to skin cancers. Don't you want to avoid these changes and unnecessary scars?
Dr. Eitan Homa has practiced dermatology since 1995 and co-founded Dermatology Associates with Dr. Jennifer Krasnoff in 1998. Their vision was to create a community dermatology practice with the rigor and high standards of a university teaching hospital.
Dr. Jennifer Krasnoff has practiced dermatology since 1994. She has an extensive background in general dermatology and specializes in womens medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Krasnoff is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Carla Fisher has practiced medicine for over 20 years and dermatology for more than 16. Her comprehensive approach includes general dermatology, surgical treatment of skin cancers and also cosmetic dermatology.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Okman attended Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, earning degrees in psychology and business. Before embarking on a career in medicine, he worked for over ten years in the financial markets, first as a trader and then as a software developer.
