Dr. Andrew S. Huttula hails from a Navy upbringing and grew up mostly on the East Coast but also spent several wonderful years as a child in Naples, Italy. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee at Memphis College of Dentistry in 1999 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy upon graduation. Dr. Huttula then embarked on his own Navy adventure, beginning with a one-year general practice residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia.
After completing his residency, Dr. Huttula served with the Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, deploying to Norway and Kuwait. Oorah! He then went on to complete his endodontic residency training at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, earning both his endodontic specialty certificate and a masters degree in 2005. After fulfilling his obligation to the Navy in 2008, Dr. Huttula relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, his wifes hometown, to begin practicing in the civilian world.
Dr. Huttula is a Board-eligible endodontist and maintains memberships in the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Southern EndodonticStudy Group (SESG), and the Huntsville-Madison County Dental Society (HMCDS). He served four years on the board of the HMCDSand is a current board member for the SESG and a trustee for the UT College of Dentistry Alumni Association.
Dr. Huttula and his wife Ashley have three children. They enjoy time together at home, at church, on the soccer field, and wherever else life carries them. Dr. Huttula also enjoys reading, fly fishing, cooking, and working in the yard.

This was the best dental experience I've had! The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Huttula used all the right tools to make it as painless as possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a root canal.

The root canal was totally painless. Dr. Huttula and his staff were very attentive and professional. I heard horror stories from friends about root canals, but this was a really good experience. I highly recommend them!

I give Dr Huttula and his staff 5 stars. They were so friendly ,professional ,and courteous and made me very comfortable during this process. I had a put off my root canal for way too long which led to it being a very difficult procedure to complete. Dr Huttula was referred by my family dentist and I am very happy he was the choice. Again, I felt comfortable and safe with the entire multisession procedure. I will not hesitate to refer my family and friends.

What a fantastic experience!! Having been around dentistry for over 35 years and have a mouthful of crowns from full mouth reconstruction I can honestly tell anyone that the experience I had at DR. Huttula's office was awesome!! I was referred by my family dentist for a root canal through a crown. I was a bit worried to say the least. Once I arrived Ashley immediately put me at ease with engaging conversation while I filled out the paperwork. Once seated the assistant was extremely polite and courteous asking me if I needed anything to make me more comfortable. Again, great customer service and care from another staff member. Dr. Huttula has a great chair side manner and is calm and reassuring. He consistently checks on the patient during the procedure asking if you feel any discomfort or pain. Another really nice touch is that he and his staff explain what is going to take place in understandable, down to earth language mitigating your apprehension.:) The procedure was absolutely painless with no residual issues. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the entire staff and the experience was absolutely professional. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Huttula and his office for any Endodontic needs you or your family have. Great staff and doctor! I had excruciating pain and after the first procedure it was gone. Just had the root canal finished a few weeks later and didn't feel a thing. Highly recommend!
