Dr. Steve Hurst was born and raised in San Diego. He attended UCSD for his BA in Biology and the UCLA School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS in 1993. From 1996-2000 he was practicing in Monterey County where he was the Dental Director for a seven clinic, non-profit health care organization. Since returning to San Diego he has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry as well as orthodontics and is enjoying serving the community in which he grew up. Dr. Steve is a Fellow of the California Implant Institute as well as a clinical instructor for the California Implant Institute.
Dr. Bridget Hurst was raised in Colorado. She attended USD as an undergraduate where she majored in Biochemistry and the UCLA School of Dentistry where she earned her DDS in 1993. She ran a busy dental clinic in Monterey County full time from 1996-2000. Today, Bridget is excited to be back in San Diego practicing family and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Thanh Hoang grew up in the Bay Area and earned her BS at UCD in 2009. She graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2014, where she met her husband who is a periodontist practicing in Poway. They are proud parents to a newborn daughter, Charlotte. Dr. Thanh is fluent in English and Vietnamese, and has been with Hurst Dental Care since 2017.

Don't pay the x-ray if you thinking to get a implants they will not get you it's scams

I went to get the free implants they charge me $250 for x-ray and they never call me for 3 months when I call back they said they can't do implants I have to go another dentist

I have been going to Dr. Hurst for over 10 years and I can't say enough for how great the whole team is. I hate going to the dentist and I always walk out happy and satisfied every single time. They have a bunch of cool new technology that makes it seamless. I highly recommend them!

I've been a patient since 2001, and I appreciate the consistent care, treatment, and also referral to a local periodontist for care. Definitely a top notch dental team, including office staff, hygienists, & Dr. Hurst!

It feels weird to say "life changing" in a review. But that's the only way to describe what Hurst Dental did for me. I was born with congenitally soft enamel (whatever that is) and have spent over $150 K during my long life desperately trying to get my mouth to work right. Nada. Zilch. Then the awesome team at Hurst Dental built me a new mouth. Snap-in, implant-based removable dentures that have fundamentally changed the way I live my life. For that I am deeply grateful. Special thanks to Dr. Steve, Val and Shelley but everybody you meet in their office is a first rate professional. Update: Val quickly and professionally replaced the plastic connectors for my snap-in upper denture today, and I received a text afterward inviting me to review my experience. Please see above.

I wanted to share my experience with the dental implant program, maybe save someone the hassle of going through everything I went through. This isn't a reflection of Dr. Hurst, he seems like a great doctor. I paid to get the CT scan, and they told me I needed a bone graft. I took the whole day for the trip to get the graft, and the doctor/student performing my graft was very obviously in over her head. I could tell she was looking for some help from who I'm assuming was the head instructor as she was struggling. The head doctor/instructor was also very offensive and made rude comments to me throughout my surgery. A few days pass, and its obvious the tissue didn't close properly over the bone graft leaving it exposed. Thankfully I live about 30 minutes away from Dr. Hurst and was able to have him check the area. He took the stitches out and said we'd leave the area as is and monitor it. I had to come back every two weeks for almost 5 months, until it got infected and he had to take the graft out. I'm just thankful that I lived close enough to have Dr. Hurst help me, I know many people fly from all over for this program. I would've been so far in the hole if I had to pay another dentist to take care of it. I have since gone to a specialist that said the graft they attempted on me is difficult for even the most experienced specialists to achieve. Unless your treatment plan is extremely straight-forward, I would be very weary of using this program.

My son and I have been going to Robin the best hygienist in the world, for nearly 20 years. Today after getting my cleaning I am informed that I will have to pay for the entire bill since the dentist office will no longer except insurance. Apparently since Covid there has been a drop in patients showing up for appointments. I pay high premiums to have a good insurance That covers most of my dental bills. But today I was informed that I will be billed 100% since they no longer take insurance. We love and value Robin very much and would sincerely love to continue to have her take care of us. Unfortunately not receiving any notice from the Hurst dental office of this drastic new change in their policy, Makes me look for a new dentist office to meet our needs. We wish the hurst dental office all the best and their new endeavors.

Hurst Dental Care is absolutely the professional, knowledgeable and without a doubt the most friendly environment that make you feel like your visiting loved ones who know you by your first name and treat you as such. From the Doctor s on down were so nice I didn't want to leave, I was pretty sure they were going to feed me grapes and give me a foot massage if I didn't have to be somewhere else to be. You don't ever have to feel apprehensive or worried which any visit to Hurst Denistry because your litter all family to them and they honestly want nothing but the best for you. There is no other place I would recommend than them, so if your the least bit scared don't worry they are so good and friendly you won't want to leave. Now where has a patient ever testified to that specially one who took 20 yrs to finally get the nerve to find and see a Dentist and im so happy I choose them...

Really Nice experience, I have not been to the dentist in a long time. I will admit that my teeth aren't in the best shape.My fear about going to dentist is partially because in the past I have had dentists who seemed to be judgy about the condition of my teeth which makes me fear going even more. I had a tooth that was aching so bad that I had to something. So I went to Dr Hurst office. Bridgett and Stephen were wonderful and were very down to earth and easy to talk to. I went here also because I heard about the free dental implant program they offer and they took the time to address my concerns. I have finally found dentists that I can go to without fear.
