Dr. Charles Elkington grew up in Tooele, Utah and attended Dixie State College immediately after high school. After serving a two year mission in Portland, Oregon, he returned to Dixie where he met his wife, Jessica, and later graduated with his Associates Degree. Dr. Elkington then moved with his wife to Cedar City where he received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from Southern Utah University. He was admitted to Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, OH, where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. After graduating from Dental School, Dr. Elkington spent four years in rural Missouri working in a Community Health Center providing dental care to the underserved population.
It was there that Dr. Elkington was able to be involved with community health programs and see firsthand the impact that a persons oral health has on their overall wellbeing. Dr. Elkington is delighted to return home to Southern Utah with his wife and family to the same office where his love of dentistry was acquired. His wife, Jessica, was fortunate to work at Hurricane Dental as an assistant to Dr. Kenneth Heaton for six years before their move to dental school. Dr. Elkington is the proud father of two boys and a girl. He enjoys camping and hiking in the mountains of Southern Utah and is excited to instill this love of the outdoors with his young family. He is excited to raise his family in Hurricane and involve them in the all that the community has to offer.
