Dr. Ross Hunter was raised in Midland, Texas, and after graduating from Midland High School, he attended The University of Texas to keep close ties to home. He graduated summa cum laude and continued his education by earning a masters degree in Biomechanics from Arizona State University.
Dr. Hunter decided to attend dental school after having an inspirational discussion with his orthodontist from Midland, Dr. Robert Henry. Dr. Hunter then attended The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, before completing his orthodontics residency program at The University of North Carolina.
Dr. Hunter achieved board certification through the American Board of Orthodontics in 2016. The ABO is the only orthodontic specialty board by the American Dental Association and affiliated with the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Hunter, his wife Jennifer and their children Julia, Natalie, and Dean are thrilled to be a part of The Woodlands community. Dr. Hunter continues to build on years of local trust and respect with an orthodontic practice that creates new smiles for his patients.

Taylor is so great she helped my daughter feel comfortable getting her braces. She also went above and helped educate us on how to care for her new braces. Thank you Hunter Orthodontics for making this experience easier.

We want to give a "shout out" to Kendra from Dr Hunter's office! She explained everything she was going to do BEFORE she worked on my daughter. It really put my daughter at ease and we truly appreciate her taking the time to treat her so kindly. Even though we still have 6 months to go before she gets her braces off, we are looking forward to rest of the experience! Thank you!

This office is amazing! They are so kind and friendly, efficient (we have never had to wait), and fun (we always make sure to see what socks the doc chose for the day!). Most of all, I feel like they listen and build they best plan for each person which builds great doctor/patient/parent trust. I send all my friends here and wouldn't take my kids anywhere else!

Hunter Orthodontics was referred to me by my kids' dentist and I'm so glad they were. Everyone I encountered was extremely polite and helpful. Emily patiently explained the cost and options. She even followed up with me the next day. Dr. Hunter was great with my nervous 10 year old quickly putting her at ease.

As soon as we walked into Dr Hunter's office, the staff is so friendly and work together to make each visit quick and easy. Dr Hunter has such and amazing friendly personality. His smile welcomes you in and says I know you and how's it going? So glad we chose Dr Hunter's office for our orthodontic treatment.

We had a great experience at HFO. Throughout the process we were kept informed and the team was amazing. Dr. Hunter, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Bailey and Ms. Kendra looked after both of our boys, making it a fun and wonderful experience. Dr. Hunter leads a great team! Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. The orthodontic assistants do everything they can to make you as comfortable as possible. The office team works together to accommodate "emergency" appointments, so wait time is minimal. I enthusiastically recommend Hunter Family Orthodontics!

I am so pleased with the care and treatment we recieved. My 8 year old got upper braces to correct a permanent tooth trapped between two bottom teeth. We just got braces off this week and the transformation is phenomenal! From the first visit where welcoming staff eased our tensions, all the way through our treatment plan, we repeatedly felt like family and my son loves his new smile, which is huge! Each of the staff members have friendly and positive attitudes, are informative and very patient with any questions we had. Dr. Hunter was wonderful to work with and his team is a testament to the wonderful practice they run. A million thanks from myself and my son! We wear our HFO shirts proudly!

Had a thorough examination and evaluation before they presented a treatment plan. Dr. Hunter is very knowledgeable and discussed in detail two possible treatment options to fix my overbite and teeth crowding issues. I didn't have to sit and wait a long time in the waiting area when I arrived for my appointment. Office is clean and staff is very friendly.

They were wonderful! Front office staff, Kendra, dr Hunter, all A+. Had an emergency with my retainer that came loose, and they were able to fit me in the sane day. I am an "older" patient. My son use to be a patient, and we always loved Hunter Family Orthodontics. They did a great job with his teeth, and today with fixing my retainer! Highly recommend! Impressed! Update, again an awesome job done today by Kendra! Happy
