Dr. Dawn Hunt has been working in the field of dentistry since she was in high school. Ever since her high school job, she has been devoted to providing excellent, personalized dental care to each of her patients. A native of Charleston, SC, she completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Charleston, and earned her degree as a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at The Medical University of South Carolina. It was here that Dr. Dawn met Dr. Bill, and they were married in their senior year. The Hunts have one son, and he is currently attending Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina.
Dr. Dawn is committed to providing each patient with the most up-to-date quality care, and went on to continue her studies at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida, Dawson Center for the Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida, The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies, The Nash Institute for Dental Learning in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Spear Education. She is also devoted to her community being a member of the Huntington Garden Club and The Junior League, and has served on numerous boards including The Virginia Living Museum, St. Andrew's Episcopal School, and The Riverside Regional Medical Center Board.
Dr. John Hunt has been practicing dental care since 1960. Dr. John, a graduate of Poquoson High School, completed undergraduate studies at Randolph Macon College and earned his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia. He has been devoted to providing top dental care since 1960 where he worked alongside his father, Dr. Frank Hunt, who started the practice in 1924. During dental school Dr. John married his wife, Corrie, and together had three children Jack, Dr. Bill, and Susan. Susan is actively working as a dental hygienist in the practice at Hunt Smile Design.
Over the years, Dr. John has furthered his knowledge in dental care at numerous continuing education courses, his most recent being the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida, The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and Spear Education. Dr. John has been very active with his family and community. He has served on the Poquoson High School Board, First National Bank Regional Board, Central Fidelity Bank Regional Board, President of the Peninsula Dental Society, President of the Poquoson Lions Club, President of Poquoson Little League, and many more.
Hunt Smile Design has been at the forefront of dental care since 1924. Dr. William (Bill) and Dr. Dawn Hunt, a husband and wife team practice with Dr. Bills father, Dr. John Hunt. All three doctors are committed to quality dental care by continuing to further their dental studies and are devoted to their communities as well.

Although dental cleaning are a necessary part of our life and little about them are "fun", Sue and Dr. Bill always take the time to make each visit as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend them to anyone who has ever worried about seeing a dentist.

I have been going to Hunt Smile Design for as long as can remember. Always friendly service and one of the few places that care more about my health than anything else. Even to the extent of working out payments plans with me for procedures beyond my means at the time. Would always recommend. I maybe moving in near future and still would travel back here vs. finding a new dentist.

I have been a patient since 2009. I have had nothing but positive experiences on each and every visit over the last 13 years. I've had a myriad of services from cleanings, to fillings, to implants and now Invisalign. The Hunts and staff are awesome. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Today in particular, I had an appointment scheduled for this afternoon for a cleaning and then on Thursday for a follow up with my Invisalign. However, with the sudden threat of a nor'easter in the afternoon, they were able to fit me in this morning instead and they even combined the 2 appointments into one so I wouldn't have to return later in the week. They take great care of all my dental needs and I am well pleased!

I called because I was having pain due to a dislocated jaw. I was admitted within a couple of hours, examined and referred to a specialist who saw me the same day. Excellent service by the Hunts as always for over 40 years.
