Dr. Hughes is so excited to be working in Deephaven and to have Hughes Dental become an integral part of the community. She has been a practicing dentist for over 17 years in the Minnetonka area. She is passionate about dentistry and keeps up on all the latest in dentistry by taking well over 75 hours of continuing education each year. She is one of only ten accredited cosmetic dentists in all of Minnesota. Dr. Hughes is also the former president of The Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry where she works to bring the best dental educators to Minnesota with the goal of making the best possible care available to our communities. She has achieved graduate status from the Kois Center in Seattle which involved taking over 200 credit hours in all facets of dentistry. Additionally, she has attained additional post graduate esthetic training at the University of MN School of Dentistry and is an alumnus of the highly regarded Dawson Center.When she isnt working or taking continuing education, she enjoys spending time with her family. She spends many hours driving her two daughters, Clara 15 and Nora 12, to dance classes and competitions. In their free time, she and her husband Rich love cooking and boating. Dr. Hughes is also an animal lover and her family is complete with two cats, Fiona and Josie, and their dogs Larry, Hank and Evelyn.
Wayzata periodontics performs a well dedicated dental care options in Hughes Dental. We have an experienced dentists to take care of all the dental issues with proper care. We use most advanced dental care options for specialize periodontal treatments in our Wayzata Periodontics.
Jackie has been a dental assistant for eleven years including eight years with Dr. Hughes. She is a real team player and is always thinking of ways to make the patient experience better and the clinic more efficient. She grew up in Watertown and now lives in Minnetonka with her two adorable, and sometimes naughty, cats. She truly enjoys getting to know the patients and particularly likes to find out if you have a cat.
Krista has been a dental hygienist for 13 years. She was a dental assistant prior to being a hygienist. She enjoys helping her patients feel comfortable in the dental chair and helping them achieve a healthy mouth. She grew up in Sartell and now lives in Maple Grove with her husband Dave, 3 children and 3 dogs.
Shelby just recently joined Hughes Dental and is very excited to be here and meet all our patients. She has been in the dental field since 2016. Shelby started as a dental assistant and slowly transitioned to the business side. She loves all things dentistry. Shelby grew up in the Pacific Northwest and moved to Minnesota in 2016 to be with her husband, Eric. She loves all animals, especially her pets, Link (the cat), and Zelda (the dog). When Shelby is not at the office you can find her on a walk with Zelda, spending time with her family, or traveling and adventuring!

They are not even close to five star... I would say ten star! They make sure you are very comfortable there, everyone there is so great and helpful! I happened upon them when I broke a tooth, looking for my old dentist and am extremely happy I found them!!! Thank you, Shelby, Jackie and Dr Hughes!!!

I had the absolute best experience with Dr. Amy Hughes and her team, they are incredible! I came in wanting to improve my smile, and their work was flawless. They listened to my needs and concerns and tailored my treatment plan appropriately. I'm obsessed with my new smile!!! I wish I had done this sooner. I am so excited and proud to show off my teeth now! I won't go anywhere else for my dentistry, I'm a loyal customer forever. Thank you Dr. Hughes, Jackie, Shelby, and the rest of the team!

The minute I walked in I was so impressed by the aesthetics - the office is adorable and the staff is very welcoming! I was hoping to find a dentist that was near me and for the most part Hughes checked most of the boxes. The only reason I will not be returning is it really felt like I was being sold to. IE - I had mentioned that I would love whiter teeth and before I knew it, I had 3 different individuals trying to sell me veneers ("only $2K a tooth"). Outside of that, I believe braces and grafting was also brought up. I decided to get my cavity filled in my hometown and had told them about the veneer comments, and they said that unfortunately some dental offices take the approach of trying to oversell services and they reiterated right now I am not a candidate for veneers. Likewise, when I asked to have my information sent to make an appointment at home and didn't get a response back, their response was "sorry I didn't realize this was such an urgent request". Would unfortunately not recommend based on the experience above.

Dr. Hughes is hard-wired to pay attention to detail and making the experience pain free. Amy has also been my 20 year old daughter's dentist since she was little. As a college student at the U of M, Bronwyn recently went to the school of dentistry for a minor dental service as part of her student healthcare. Interestingly, while at the school, the instructor brought everyone over to see her fillings. They were undetectable and took effort to find. The instructor said he had never seen such perfectly done fillings and wanted everyone to see Dr Hughes work. We cannot believe our good fortune of being in the care of the best dentist in the state of Minnesota!

For anyone looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Hughes and the entire team at Hughes Dental. A while back I was seeking a new dentist, having been tired of the impersonal and corporate feel of my previous place, and I am so glad I found Dr. Hughes. I have been going here since the office first opened, and their skills related to overall dental health care paired with an unmatched eye for both the function and appearance of one's smile, makes this a place worth going out of your way for. There are many places closer to where I live, but I always know I'm in good hands with Dr. Hughes and team -- and going anywhere else is never a consideration. Her team of Jackie, Krista and Shelby are all outstanding at what they do. Whether it's a routine cleaning, an issue with general function or sensitivity, asking about a cosmetic concern, or needing help with insurance coverage questions, they routinely go above-and-beyond and I am always very happy with my experience. Additionally, the office itself is beautiful and calming. Thank you to Dr. Hughes and team!

I highly recommend Dr. Hughes if you want a GREAT smile. I have never been happy with my front teeth or smile until now. Dr Hughes changed that with Veneers. Now I have the GREAT smile that I always wanted. She is very talented as a dentist and has a great staff with Jackie, Krista and Shelby.

The hygienist is very skilled, friendly and wonderful at explaining options and offering feedback about the condition of my gums and teeth. Dr Hughes is also very friendly, patient and I feel so confident about her knowledge and skills! Wonderful experience!

After my dentist of 20+ years retired I tried other dental offices. I found I was disappointed in the lack of personal attention feeling like a retail customer. Then I found Dr. Hughes. Upon entering the front door you are greeted by Shelby and you know that this office will be different, and it is. From the moment you walk in the door you feel and see the personal attention to detail. The comfy chairs, fireplace all add to the warmth. Dr Hughes explains everything in terms you'll undertsand. Her dentistry skills are excellent and her attention to detail and follow up is superb! She is complimented by her dental assistant Jackie who is highly skilled, personable and caring. Highly recommend Hughes Dental!

I have been going to Dr Hughes for over 15 plus years, have never had any issues of any kind. I've been treated more like a friend than a patient and I wouldn't think of changing dentists. I found my first visit to Hughes Dental to be as pleasant as a dentist appointment could be. The staff was friendly and attentive to my needs and sensitive to my anxiety about dentistry. Everything was explained and I was also heard. I would highly recommend!
