I am originally from Ohio and came to Nashua after completing my dental and orthodontic training at Tufts School of Dental Medicine. My wife Mary is a native New Englander who grew up in Rhode Island, so settling here in Nashuawas an easy way to stay in touch with her family. Both of us are very active in the community, supporting the schools and the symphony. Of course just keeping up with the individual schedules of our six children keeps us quite busy. Dr. Phillis
Dr. Phillis did his dental and orthodontic training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated summa cum laude as well asvaledictorian of his dental class in 1980. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Since1982, Dr. Phillis has taught at Tufts Dental School in the orthodontic department as an assistant clinical professor.
Dr. Phillis and the entire dental office team regularly participate in continuing education courses to improve their skills. Individual staff members frequently attend orthodontic-related courses on their own to improve and expand skills in their own area.
In his time away from the office, Dr. Phillis enjoys spending time with his family and their dogs, Leo & Charlie .He likes to golf, play tennis, and ski.Around the house, Dr. Phillis is a pretty good cook and loves to do home projects of all types.
I grew up around orthodontics: my dad and sister are both orthodontists! From being fascinated with braces and wires as a child, to appreciating the artistry and science behind orthodontics as a doctor, I have a genuine passion for improving smiles.
Its rewarding to be building a relationship with a patient, while providing them with the highest quality care possible. Hearing someones latest news, sharing a laugh, and chatting about the future are all delightful. I value each of those exchanges.

Dr. Phillis returned to her hometown of Nashua, New Hampshireafter completing her orthodontic training. She is close to her family: Mary, her mother, works in adult education; and Hugh, her father, is an orthodontist in Nashua. She also has five sisters and a brother, and the family lives with two Golden Retrievers Leo and Charlie who are everyones favorite Phillises!

Caryn lives in Lunenburg with her husband Greg, where she enjoys working in their garden and playing with their dogs. She also enjoys kayaking, hiking, cooking, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Wendy started with us as a part-time high schooler and has grown in talent and experience to be an outstanding assistant. Wendy routinely will assist the Dr. Phillis in performing prescribed portions of your adjustment during your orthodontic visits.
Cynthia has more than 20 years of experience in the dental field as a ceramist. She recently broadened her dental laboratory skills by undertaking responsibilities for our orthodontic appliances and retainers. She spends most of her time behind the scenes in our lab, making your retainers. In the afternoons, Cynthia helps with the care of patients in our treatment area.
Kathy is a Nashua native with many years of dental finanace and insurance processing experience. She will help you with all the payment details related to your treatment. She is an expert in finding the best way to help develop a plan that fits your budget.
Mary is Dr. Philliss wife. She assists both Caryn and Kathy in keeping up with the administrative work in the office. She also has the big job of trying to keep Dr. Phillis in line! As the mother of six, she does an outstanding job filling in wherever needed and keeping things running smoothly.
Since that time, Dr. Phillishas provided excellentorthodontic care to servethe needs of children, teens, and adults in the Greater Nashuaarea, including Amherst, Hollis,Hudson, Litchfield, and Merrimack, with state-of-the-art care that blends leading-edge techniques with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Dr. Hugh Phillis and his team gave me an outstanding evaluation and suggestions for my adult orthodontist work. Impressed by the photos and x-rays that were done to understand the story of my mouth and appreciated the detailed follow up by Dr. Phillis to discuss options. I am proceeding with some work with Dr. Phillis.

These guys are the best of the best and seriously deserve your consideration. I love these guys, they've changed my life and for the better, getting me through an incredibly stressful jaw surgery and having my back every step of the way. The best of the best. Kind, accommodating, and great results. I'll start by saying I'm not an easy patient. I have really bad ocd and have strict rules on how things must be done. I was sick to my stomach worried about getting braces and them not being able to cater to my issues. But Dr. Phillis and the staff really listened to what I needed and double checked with me with every step to make sure I was doing alright. He works closely with the dentist next door, so it was incredibly easy to get advice from two sides on my complex issues (two of my front teeth are implants). I was also dreading getting braces as an adult and thought they would be embarrassing. But they looked so good! You could barely even notice them. I spent so much time trying to move my teeth with the clear retainers from another company. Big mistake. I wish I went to Dr. Phillis first, but at least my teeth look amazing now. There is a reason I didn't hesitate to drive the hour it takes to get to Dr. Phillis. There is no one out there that I would trust more with something so important.

After many years of wanting to get my teeth straightened (as well as my jaw better-aligned) I decided to take the plunge and invest in braces. I asked around and several people (as well as my dental practice) recommended Dr. Phillis' office. At the initial consultation with Dr. Phillis, I was provided with a thorough treatment plan as well as an estimated duration of treatment. (I was given an original estimate of 12-18 months, and my braces were removed at 15 months almost to the day). During my treatment, I experienced first-hand what it was like to receive top-notch care by a very professional and attentive team who always maintained my best interests for a successful dental transition. Dr. Phillis is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and his 40+ years of experience is on clear display through his caring and professional approach, which is the exact kind of treatment you want from your orthodontist. I highly recommend Dr. Phillis' practice to anyone in need of orthodontia, or for anyone who wants to improve their smile but aren't sure who to go to. You won't find a more well-equipped practice who will provide you with the personalized attention you deserve.

The Phillis team is amazing. Our daughter is a patient of this office and both Dr. Hugh Phillis and Dr. Stephanie Phillis oversee her care. The care she receives is wonderful, even during Covid. At one point the office reopened to just patients and our daughter was always greeted by a friendly team member. At the end of her appointment, she was accompanied back to to me by either Dr. Hugh Phillis or Dr. Stephanie Phillis; who then provided an update on her progress. Greatly appreciate what they are doing to better our daughter's smile. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to find an orthodontist for their child.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I called with a few questions before my appointment, and the receptionist was pleasant and informative. Dr. Phillis is very attentive, professional and courteous. He spent the time explaining my dental options and taking the time to make sure I understood what the next steps will be for my dental care. I feel like Dr. Phillis is focused on the best options for me to consider, and I will receive excellent dental care.

Dr. Phillis is fantastic! We went to several other orthodontists before finding Dr Phillis because we live in the Concord, NH area and Nashua is a bit of a drive. What a world of difference. Dr Phillis and staff are very professional and caring. Never felt like we are being rushed or run through the process. We had a more difficult case with the braces and everything went as planned. We just got them off today! Can't say enough good things about them!
