Dr. Andrew Newman was raised here in Anchorage. It is his pleasure to be serving Alaskans here at Huffman Family Dentistry, LLC. He received a Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young University in Neuroscience. He graduated from the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine. Where he had multiple publications in the field of Oral Surgery.
Andy and his wife Leisl have three energetic daughters, all of whom enjoy exploring Alaska and viewing the wildlife. He enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and happy about their smiles again, getting out of pain, and feeling confident.

Office did not tell me they do not take my insurance until after they did the cleaning and X-rays! Had to pay full out of pocket. Time to find a new dentist.

The reason for 3 stars has nothing to do with the dental hygienist or the dentist I saw. The hygienist was actually wonderful and did a fantastic job. This practice has been so hard to schedule with and typically 4-6 months to get an appointment. They also were very rude while discussing their billing policies. I just think they need some training with the front desk on customer etiquette and need to be a bit more understanding.

First time in my life that I actually enjoyed going to the dentist. Dr. Weaver is kind and informative. The environment is relaxing and very clean and the entire staff is friendly. Highly recommend Huffman Family Dentistry.

I had not been to denist in many years and HAD alot of anxiety when it came to going back to Dentist. Huffman Family Dentistry has a friendly and empathetic staff. Cleaned me up and set plan in action. Cannot say how grateful I am.

I just had my best ever dental appointment at Huffman Family Dentistry! I have extreme sensitivities to certain sounds and sensations, and the scraping of metal on my teeth is a combination of two of my worst issues. In all of my other appointments, I have cried in the chair, had meltdowns, and (at my best) had panic attacks that shook my body while they were working on my mouth. I recently saw a tiktok where someone had similar issues at the dentist, and they recommended asking for plastic tools instead of the standard metal. I immediately called up my dentist and asked if that would be an option for me, and they said that as long as I signed a waiver stating that I understood it wouldn't be as effective as the metal tools, they could use those instead. I just came out of the appointment, and I did not have any sort of panic response whatsoever. I didn't cry, I was only mildly uncomfortable, and I was able to keep my composure the entire time. The hygienist was quick and sympathetic, and every person was kind and helpful at every step. If you have issues with going to the dentist and that's stopping you from going, please consider giving them a call and asking what non-traditional things can be done to help. Huffman Family Dentistry was incredible with me, and now I am not afraid to schedule my next appointment!

Our family have been patients at Huffman Family Dentistry since 1992. We have been recipients of their gracious and extremely professional care all of these year's. It has been a great comfort to know that they are available anytime, and and all of the time to care for our dental needs . They are a great group of people!
