Dr. Richard D. Huffman, Jr. has over 30 years of clinical experience practicing dentistry in the Roanoke Valley. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dental Medicine (formerly Medical College of Virginia) with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Huffman is very passionate about being a life-long learner, and he has achieved fellowship status with the Virginia Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentistry. Additionally, he has been involved with organized dentistry and has served as past president of the Piedmont Dental Society.
Dr. Huffman has 2 grown sons, and when not spending time with them or practicing dentistry, he enjoys motorcycle racing, furniture making, and geriatric crossfit. Dr. Huffman looks forward to putting his experience and knowledge to use in helping you achieve the level of oral health and smile that you desire.
Dr. Kreger was born and raised in Roanoke and received his bachelors degree from Wake Forest University. Dr. Kreger graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dental Medicine and completed his residency training in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at East Carolina University. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Roanoke Valley Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. Additionally, Dr. Kreger participates with the local Spear Study Club, and enjoys the continuing education courses that they offer. He is a regular volunteer at the Bradley Free Clinic and local Mission of Mercy projects.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kreger likes to stay active by playing golf, basketball, and participating in triathlons. He is also an avid supporter of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Youre likely to see Dr. Kreger with his wife, daughter, and Goldendoodle enjoying many of the outdoor activities the Roanoke Valley has to offer. Dr. Kreger looks forward to putting his knowledge and skills to use in helping you achieve your perfect smile.

Been seeing Dr. Huffman since I was little I'm now 27 and he's the only dentist I trust, anything dental related has always made me extremely nervous but i have gotten to the point where I'm no longer nervous with him, he knows what he is doing, & the staff is always super friendly! I highly recommend to anyone definitely the best in all of Roanoke and surrounding counties

Dr Kreger & his staff are absolutely the best dental office I have ever been to.... & that speaks volumes coming from someone like me who used to dread going to a dentist. They took the time to explain everything to me, answered my questions, & followed up afterwards. 5 star customer service !

Who leaves a review for a dentist right? But I felt compelled. So I have had probably 10 teeth worked on here, and was referred out for a root canal next door. Everything was always smooth, pretty painless and really neat. Like I never had to go back and say hey the filling is too rough or too high or something is bothering me. Also, considering the state of my teeth other dentists kind of gave me a hard time before. Like I know the situation, don't make it worse right? But a few days ago I had a wisdom tooth pulled. I realize that some come out easier some come out harder. But I appreciate the patience of just moving the tooth until it decides to give. My last wisdom tooth was a nightmare, with a torn up gum that was so bad it took a week just to get the swelling back down. And it was not some joined root, it was just a regular but rushed extraction. Oh and his assistant is the sweetest girl ever. Never thought I would actually LIKE my dentist. Ha! Might even miss them when I get my last filling .

We switched to Dr. Kreger recently from a bigger busier dental office in town. I was looking for an office that was smaller and more personal. The office itself is not as "updated" which doesn't bother me personally. Dr. Kreger and the staff at the office are so wonderful. My family has completely switched over to them, even my three year old. I feel Dr. Kreger is conservative with his treatment and doesn't rush to do big work right away unless he feels it's really necessary. I have confidence in his work where I didn't with our last dentist. I am thrilled we made the switch and have zero regrets.

Let's be honest, no one really looks forward to going to the dentist; but my experience here was very pleasant. The hygienest was gentle but very thorough and Dr. Kreger was professional and caring. Definitely recommend for anyone needing a dentist in Roanoke.

I've been a patient of Dr. Huffman's for years and Terry is my fabulous dental hygienist! The staff is super at this office, they are alwaus on time and most importantly theu are very exact with what they do for you. Cant say enough good things about them!

Without question the best dentist experience I've ever had, they eased my mind throughout my visits because they were aware of my anxiety with denist and simply are a pro at being a pro. 10/10 easily and definitely recommend especially to tho like myself who may have anxiety or fear when it comes to dentistry .

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Kreger! He is a FANTASTIC dentist. Very knowledgeable, highly professional, extremely friendly. An all around wonderful man and an awesome dentist. And kudos to Terry, my fabulous Dental Hygienist. Because of the great work that Dr. Kreger has done on my teeth, I have so much more confidence than I used to. Now I smile all the time...because I can!!

I am 69 years old and Dr. Huffman is the ONLY dentist I've ever seen where I don't mind going to the appointment. When I first saw him my mouth was a mess because I always cancelled my appointments with other dentists. He never yelled at me and I never felt any pain with what he did. My teeth and gums are now nice and pink and healthy and his Dental Hygienist Christine is helping to keep them that way. If you're afraid of dentists ..... this is the place for you - you'll never be scared again!
