Dr. Michael Messana attended Fairleigh Dickinson University's undergraduate six-year Accelerated Dental Program. While at Fairleigh Dickinson, he became President of the Tri-Beta Biological Society and President of the Pre-Professional Society. He made Dean's List and Who's Who in American Colleges for 1987. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Biology, Summa Cum Laude.
After college, he attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine's Graduate program (1987-1989) where he was elected to represent the university in the American Student Dental Association. Upon closure of FDU's College of Dental Medicine, he transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. Upon receiving a degree in 1991, he was inducted into the distinguished Omega Kappa Upsilon Honors Society.
Following Dental School, he attended New York University's Post Graduate Program in Orthodontics. He was elected Class President during his last year in the program, and received his Certificate in Orthodontics in July of 1993. Dr. Messana stayed in New York to attend Bellevue Hospital's one year Orthognathic Fellowship for orthodontists, during which time he received a Certificate of Fellowship in 1994. He is currently a member of the A.A.O., the A.D.A., the N.J.D.A., both trustee and Past President of the Hudson County Dental Society, and Past President of the New Jersey Dental Association.
For her graduate studies, she attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine, became class President in her third year, and transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. She received her D.M.D. in May of 1991.

Dr. Messana and staff are so sweet! He is very funny and I am afraid of dentists in general but he made me feel at ease. I would recommend him to anyone!

this dentist will OVERCHARGE YOU, he was the most expesive quote with the least updated office and equipment. thank goodness i shopped around. i found a DIAMOND certified dentist only blocks away. the place was modern and clean, the technology impressed me so much. i felt like Dr. Messana just wants the money and it shows in the condition of his office.

We chose this Orthadontist in Bayonne thinking he would be the better one because his office looked very nice online. As you know "never judge a book by its cover". They charge more and he does a horrible job! Each time my child went for his braces, either the same day or the next, one or two fall out and that's with following his orders.

Dr. Messana and his team are attentive, accommodating, and they officially perfected my smile. I was undecided about Invisalign and if I was the right candidate but after a consultation and discussion of payment options with the front desk I am glad that I decided to go through with it. Every pain, new tray, and appointment is totally worth the investment that I have put into my smile. Now every time I look into the my mirror I'm happy with what I see as I sing "my smile is beamin I know you've seen it." :)

Dr. Messana is the best Orthodontist ever! He is very nice and really cares for his patients. I disliked going to the dentist but I was always excited to come here. I totally recommend him to anyone. He is truly the best.

I had just finished my 2 year Braces treatment with Dr.Messana, and now I'm using retainers for my post-treatment. Thank you so much for giving me every option to help me give a beautiful smile. I highly recommend Dr.Messana's office to my relatives and close collegues of mine.

Typically people are scared to go to the orthodontist but if you go to Dr.Messana you'll actually be happy to go because him and his staff really do make sure you get the smile you're paying for. Any location you go to is clean and has a cozy atmosphere. If you want your teeth fixed definitely visit Dr.Messana !

I started treatment in April 2014. After putting on the braces I saw the Dr. once every month, the assistants that would change my wires and my bands were fantastic always so friendly.. I never had a bad experience. For my senior prom Dr. Messana took my braces off temporarily. He is great! The new office in Wallington is a lot bigger and is more up to date with technology. 10/10 would reccommend.
