Dr. Michael Messana attended Fairleigh Dickinson University's undergraduate six-year Accelerated Dental Program. While at Fairleigh Dickinson, he became President of the Tri-Beta Biological Society and President of the Pre-Professional Society. He made Dean's List and Who's Who in American Colleges for 1987. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Biology, Summa Cum Laude.
After college, he attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine's Graduate program (1987-1989) where he was elected to represent the university in the American Student Dental Association. Upon closure of FDU's College of Dental Medicine, he transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. Upon receiving a degree in 1991, he was inducted into the distinguished Omega Kappa Upsilon Honors Society.
Following Dental School, he attended New York University's Post Graduate Program in Orthodontics. He was elected Class President during his last year in the program, and received his Certificate in Orthodontics in July of 1993. Dr. Messana stayed in New York to attend Bellevue Hospital's one year Orthognathic Fellowship for orthodontists, during which time he received a Certificate of Fellowship in 1994. He is currently a member of the A.A.O., the A.D.A., the N.J.D.A., both trustee and Past President of the Hudson County Dental Society, and Past President of the New Jersey Dental Association.
For her graduate studies, she attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. College of Dental Medicine, became class President in her third year, and transferred to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. She received her D.M.D. in May of 1991.

I can't say enough about Dr. Messana and his office staff - especially Joanna - they r so accommodating whenever it is possible and they treat you like you are their only patient - very professional and warm - extremely clean and they listen and help you out till you are satisfied and in my case more than satisfied.They have gone beyond my expectations of a Dr office.

My daughter got her tongue stuck on her bracket. Since her regular orthodontist is closed on Saturdays, I had to call Dr. Michael Messana. I was unsure if this was an emergency or not, and was very hesitant to page the doctor on a Saturday evening. Dr. Michael Messana returned my text immediately, and reassured me about the situation. When I apologized for calling on after hours, and asking about the fee for an emergency orthodontist care, he replied, "There will be no charge, We feel bad for your daughter. We will make her comfortable, any repairs you will need to go back to your orthodontist." That's what we're here for!" Dr. Michael Messana and Dr. Bernadetta Messana were nothing but welcoming. I am glad Dr. Messana was able to help my daughter.

My daughter returned to Dr Messana after having here braces removed about 2 1/2 years ago. Without hesitation nor concerns about additional fees, Dr Messana treated my daughter's needs in a highly professional and courteous manner. If you're in need of orthodontics care, I strongly recommend Dr Mesanna.
