Dr. Hudson was born and raised in the Springfield area. He began his undergraduate education at Lincoln Land Community College, where he received his Associate's Degree in Science. He continued his undergraduate education at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences before graduating Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1987.
Dr. Hudson has been in private practice since 1988. He is married to his wife, Betsy, and they are the proud parents of three children, David, Michael and Katie. Betsy is the Director of the Budget for Horace Mann Insurance Company and has been employed there for more than 40 years. David is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and is attending St. Louis University Orthodontic Residency Program. Michael is attending Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and will graduate in 2021. Katie is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Master's Degree in accounting. She is a certified public accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Peoria.
Dr. Hudson is involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including hunting, hiking, bicycling and spending time with his family. He is active in several community organizations, including Rotary, the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation, Springfield Southwest Baseball Association and Westside Christian Church.
Kathy joined Dr. Hudsons team in 1995 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Lake Land Community College and has 30 years of experience in the dental field. Currently the office manager, you will still see Kathy serving patients as a hygienist when needed as she enjoys helping patients in both capacities. Kathy was born and raised in central Illinois and lives in Taylorville with her husband, Todd, and two children, Brooke and Judd. She enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her children in their numerous activities. Kathy also is a 4-H leader in Christian County.
Karen is a Registered Dental Hygienist with 30 years of experience and has worked with Dr. Hudson since 1998. She grew up in northern Illinois and graduated Southern Illinois University at Carbondale before moving to the Springfield area in 1984. Karen and her husband, Jim, live in Glenarm and have a daughter, Sara, who is married and has a daughter. Karen enjoys visiting with patients, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
Nicole is a Certified Dental Assistant. She graduated Midwest Technical Institute in 2007 and has worked with Dr. Hudson since 2012. Nicole enjoys all aspects of her profession and working with both adults and children. Nicole was born and raised in the Springfield area. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, refinishing furniture and vacationing in Mexico. She looks forward to gaining additional skills and furthering her career as a dental assistant.
Miranda is a Registered Dental Hygienist who enjoys all aspects of dental health and patient interaction. She graduated Lake Land College in 2002 and is married to Jesse. They have two children, Nelson and Kadence. Outside of the office, Miranda enjoys being involved in her children's activities. She is a Cub Scout leader, serves on the Carlinville Queen Pageant committee and is an avid Cubs fan.
Stacy is one of our dedicated Registered Dental Hygienists. She originally hails from east-central Illinois and has been a part of our team since 2014. Stacy is a graduate of Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, where she earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science to become a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been a practicing hygienist since 1994. Stacy lives in Pawnee with her husband, Jason. She is a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and an animal lover.
Barb has enjoyed working with Dr. Hudson 's team on a part-time basis since 2012. She oversees the front desk as needed and has always enjoyed working with this 'wonderful staff.' Barb has worked in the dental field for more than 25 years and enjoys new experiences each and every day. Away from the office, she stays active with her seven grandchildren, ranging in ages 2 to 12.
