Dr. Hu is a friendly dentist who is very skilled. We did have a problem where we were caught in a loop of continually getting a bill that we had settled. We worked with his staff but it came up multiple times over three years. We reached out as a last ditch effort via email and facebook for a correction and Dr. Hu himself responded and he promised to correct the error himself. I appreciate his response and help.

I have been in healthcare education for nearly 25 years and has achieved the level of a full tenured Professor at a world renowned institution. I have taught and interviewed thousands of students who are now practicing healthcare professionals from lab technicians to doctors and dentists. To me, a good practitioner is someone who is not only passionate about their trade but stay abreast of their profession by constantly attending professional continuing education conferences, giving presentations both self-submitted and invited, and contribute to their profession through scholarly work. Dr. Jerry Hu is all that and more. This is evident by the numerous credentials he has obtained over the years beyond his original dentistry training and other scholarly activities. He attends professional conferences on a regular basis and is invited throughout the world for lectureships and workshops. He is a constant professional and the State of Alaska is very lucky to have him. Recently, I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea through a sleep study. Something quite common in people and often ignored but could lead to fatal consequences. I often wake up in the morning with a feeling of being "robbed" from the previous night's sleep and usually with a slight headache. I tried CPAP machine but was intolerant, i.e. I pulled it off multiple times per night so actually created an anxiety for me and made the entire sleep experience even worse. When I asked my pulmonologist about any alternatives he suggested an oral reconstruction device (ORD) and I knew right away who and where to go next. The phrase "you don't know what you don't know" is such a profound statement. I went to Dr. Hu's clinic and his staff took their time and measured my teeth with state-of-the art equipment using lasers and echo sound wave instruments so that a "perfect" and I mean "perfect" mode can be made. When this device came at first I was a little apprehensive and had both doubts and anxiety. However, prior to that, Dr. Hu did tell me that my body will get use to it in approximately 2 weeks of wearing so I tried it....... The result was nothing short of amazing! Within a week, I got use to it. Sometimes waking up in the morning and forgetting the device was still in my mouth. For the first time in a long time I wake up consistently each day with a clear mind and full of energy. I had always thought this was just a saying but I actually felt a physiological difference. Using this ORD and sleeping in a certain position I had eliminated my snoring all together. Being revitalized in this manner gave me the confidence to adopt a new and healthier lifestyle. Therefore, as an added bonus, I've lost around 40 pounds! As an educator, I like to explain things that I can relate to everyday life. The best way I can explain this ORD is by something like this: When you're driving on a road (think of you and your car as air) and you come to a vertical crossroad. If you drive straight (it is your mouth) and if you drive up (it is your nose). You can see if you continue to drive straight the road ahead are blocked by certain objects say a giant boulder (your epiglottis) and the road looks narrow. However, if you drive up the road is wide and clear. Now think of the CPAP machine as a giant guest of wind that pushes your car to move forward and forces you down one of the two roads. It gets the job done but it's messy, uncomfortable, and uncontrollable. However, if you use the ORD it acts like a giant road block that tells you NOT to drive down the road and makes you drive up the road so the path is clear and wide open. It's as simple as that. Sorry, got carried away there a little. It's the educator inside of me so I can't help it. Anyways, in summary, if Dr. Jerry Hu is not your dentist, why isn't he? If you still want to see your regular dentist then next time when you see him/her ask the question, "what do you do to stay abreast of your profession?" You'll know immediately if they give you an unsatisfactory answer. PH

Dr. Jerry Hu has been our Family Dentist for over 17 years. Our children have grown up with him and his services, and we feel like family when we go see him. Dr. Hu is constantly continuing his education to provide the most current technology, and up to date procedures to his practice. My husband who has had many Dentists before we found Jerry, feels he has "the most gentle hand" when performing his duties. We are blessed to have both his friendship and outstanding professional service.

Dr. Hu is highly skilled and has great bedside manners. You can tell he truly has passion for his work and career. He also listened to my case and offered many options beyond my expectations. I came with several broken teeth and cavities and pain. Now, not only can I eat and chew normal, but I have a great smile. Thanks Dr. Hu

After so many years of going to dentists that don't listen or know what to do I finally found Dr.Jerry C. Hu. I had become self conscious about my smile, had constant pain from metals, poorly done root canal, improper care for tooth replacement after extractions none of which were repaired properly. After Dr. Jerry C. Hu assessed all my issues he thoroughly explained my options. The office staff is also held to a high standard which is very appreciated. All my dental work was done by an impressive lab that backs their work. I am so excited because my partials are an extraordinary fit and so precise along with my crowns, no more pain, no more metal and sleeping well. Dr. Hu has given me my smile back and everyone loves seeing that again. Congratulations to Dr. Jerry C. Hu for continually educating himself about how dentistry improves our lives and the outstanding awards he so rightly deserves. Thank you to Dr. Jerry C. Hu DDS, Elaine Mattson

My family have been to several dentists over the years. For one reason or another, we would move on to another, in hopes of finding a dentist that met our needs and expectations. Well over 16 years ago, we landed on Dr Jerry Hu's doorstep and have not looked back since. Dr Hu' s chairside manner, quickly gained the trust of our children, which was very important to us. They actually look forward to their cleanings and check ups. Not just Dr Hu, but his entire staff are incredibly and genuinely friendly on a personal level. Dr Hu and staff has proved to us over and over that they truely care for us and our continued well being. Dr Hu doesn't just tell you what has to happen, he gives you options with the pro's and con's of each option. I can tell you from personal experience, I will not go with option "B" again, when Dr Hu highly recommends option "A". He knows what he is talking about. (Thank you Dr Hu for not saying "I told you so"). My family didn't just find a dental practice, we found friends that keep our smiles bright.

On the 13th month my fiance's crown broke, so he put the blame on her and charged us full price for the replacement. What kind of pride is that in your work and quality of workmanship. Dr Hu is a kind gentleman, but he is lacking in genuine patient concern and empathy. He is more concerned about his dollar than his patients well being. Personally I had a couple crowns done and went back in for increasing pain, hoping to get something stronger and his dental assistant was condescending and rude. I was beside myself with pain making it hard to even think and they wouldn't give me anything stronger. I just left and toughed it out. What a miserable experience. Having to change dentists after 41 years and find a good dentist in this area has been a nightmare
