We understand that with any given case, there are options when it comes to selecting a course of action. Sterilization Center: It goes without saying that adequate infection controlas mandated by OSHA guidelinesis a top priority for Dr. Howland's. In order to provide the highest level of cleanliness, we utilize the M11 sterilization autoclave housed within the A-dec unit, as well as a Statim 5000 cassette autoclave. In fact, our entire sterilization center is open to patient view; you are welcome to watch!
He attended Albright College as a biology major and was granted early acceptance to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduating in the top 2% of his class, Dr. Howland was nominated to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Howland chose to pursue a career in general dentistry and pursued hospital-based training as a Resident in General Dentistry at Brigham and Womens Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital (through the Harvard Dental School).
The following year, Dr. Howland was invited to serve as chief resident, mentoring and educating the incoming class of general practice dentists. This position gave Dr. Howland the opportunity to teach at the Harvard Dental School as a Clinical Fellow in General Dentistry.
During his time in Boston, Dr. Howland also spent two years at the Dana Farber Head and Neck Cancer Treatment Center, where he learned how to pre-treat the complications that can arise from the treatment of those cancers. A number of non-dental medical issues can present as oral complications, and the ability to recognize these symptoms can have life-saving results.
Dr. Howland is married to Suzanne (Rehrig) Howland, a lifelong Lehighton resident and principal in the Lehighton Area School District. They currently reside in the borough of Lehighton, along with their two children, Addison and Anna.

All of the doctors and assistants have been nothing short of spectacular for the last 2 years. They are all very courteous and focused on taking care of their clients. I have never had one bit of pain from any procedure, and everything has always gone smoothly. The crowns that they make in house are also holding up very well. Highly recommend Howland Family Dental.

I recently moved to Lehighton and today (5/28/21) had my first appointment at Howland Family Dental. The service really went above and beyond my expectations. Cindy was super kind, polite, respectful and explained every step of the process, just amazing!. The Dr was also very polite and nice. The office in general was super careful with covid preventive measures which means a lot, proves that they take it seriously. Also, they have a super nice and useful website, so I filled all my forms through the website. Paperless. Modern. Digital. Saving trees. They are kind of overbooked but after covid all places are.. and by the quality of the attention I can imagine many people wanting just this place. Anyways, I became already a patient. Happy patient. :)

No one likes to go to the dentist, but they removed the old tooth and post, then replaced the post and the crown in 2 hours, and I was in and out the same day. No goop in your mouth to define the replacement tooth. No temporary teeth and no second visit in 2-3 weeks. Also important they have a courteous pleasant team of people, pain free visits, in terrific surroundings.

Today I went in for a crown thinking that I would have to have 2 or 3 appointments to have this done. To my surprise I had my crown completed and a cavity filled in one visit. It was a very pleasant appointment in a very professional setting, along with great results. I would recommend Dr. Howland and his team to everyone.
