As a dentist, I am humbled by the faith my patients place in me. They trust me to care for their oral health and for their most visible physical element: their smile. I take that responsibility seriously and strive to always exceed a patients expectations for painless care that improves their life.
Im particularly pleased when we are able to help someone who experiences dental anxiety. Some people avoid seeing the dentist for years. That means they may need a lot of care when they do come to see us. I work to establish trust and rapport with all my patients, but especially with those who are worried. By thoroughly explaining everything Im going to do, why its necessary, and practicing painless care, patients learn they dont need to worry about their visits. When someone smiles at the end of a procedure, and thanks us for making it easy for them, I know weve done a good job.
I became a dentist because I wanted to help people. What I didnt realize, when I chose the profession, was that Id become friends with my patients. Talking with them, as we share stories about our lives, builds a bond. I look forward to their visits as a time to hear a friends latest news. I hope they feel the same about coming to see me.
Each year I complete many hours of continuing education. By attending seminars, lectures, and conferences, I stay current on technology, treatments, and products. Dentistry is a constantly evolving field; my patients rely on me to provide them with the strongest care options and results. Continuing education ensures they are not disappointed.
As an active member of the National Dental Association, I interact with and learn from my peers, along with the leaders in the profession. I also have access to the latest research findings and discussion of treatments, through the organizations publications.
I grew up in Jamaica, but Rochesterhas been my home for many years. When not working, I enjoy being with my daughter and son, as well as visits with my extended family. Quality time with friends, many of whom started as patients, is also something I look forward to sharing.

Beverly and Kelly are two of our friendly, gentle dental hygienists. They enjoy meeting new people and building relationships, while helping patients develop great oral health. As hygienists, Beverly and Kelly clean teeth, take digital X-rays, and provide home care instructions. At lot of their time is spent working one-to-one with patients, offering dental education. They focus on helping people make positive changes in home oral hygiene, making good eating decisions, and establishing great habits. Beverly and Kelly love when a patient comes for a recall visit and they have a healthy, happy smile.
While Beverly loves to travel, her favorite time is being home with her children. Giving back to the community is important to the family. They are involved with ABVI, Golisano Childrens Hospital, and the Humane Society at Lollypop Farms.
With her warm and friendly smile, Chris greets patients when they arrive. Shes great at recalling peoples names and details about their lives. For Chris, her daily conversations with our patients are the highlight of her work. She checks in patients and updates their paperwork. Chris also schedules visits, answers the phone, and processes insurance claims. She tends to be busy, but always has time for a chat!
Chris is married and has two lovely daughters. The family enjoys camping trips and working within their church community. Chris used to be a Girl Scout leader and volunteered as a Girl Scout Service Unite Manager, too. Always looking to keep busy, shes also coached summer league soccer.
Staceys calmness and warm smile always sets our patients at ease. She works hard to establish a connection with each patient, asking about their life and hobbies. These conversations create a bond of trust. They also provide Stacey with insight into how best to help the patient make healthy changes in their lives. While she takes X-rays and cleans a patients teeth, she talks with them about good nutrition and the best way to keep their mouth clean and healthy between visits.
Staceys a proud mother, whose children keep her very busy with their activities. She supports their dancing, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, and diving interests, as well as Rock Band Camp. During the summer, she always makes time for a country music concert, or three.
Theresa loves making our patients smile and laugh during their visits. She understands that some people find the dentists office to be stressful, so she makes sure each patient knows theyre safe here. By attentively drawing out and listening to her patients, she learns about their concerns and then helps them overcome them. Like our other hygienists, Theresa spends a lot of time teaching patients about dental health and hygiene. She emphasizes the connection between a healthy mouth and body and gives patients the information needed to make positive changes.
Outside of work, Theresa is a very busy mother to several children. They keep her on her toes, and she loves it. When she can find the time, Theresa enjoys shopping trips and losing herself in a good book.
