Dr. Howe grew up in Salt Lake City and makes his home in Sugarhouse. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went to the University of Washington for dental school.
In practice as a general dentist since 1985, Dr. Howe is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, the Alta Dental Study Group, and the Holladay District Dental Society. In 2012, after completing 500 hours of continuing dental education and passing a rigorous comprehensive exam, he was honored as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Howe and his wife Charlotte have two grown children who are both married and working in higher education and law. He is very active in outdoor sports, including skiing, hiking, biking, and backpacking. He is currently working on a lifelong goal of climbing the highest peak in each of the 29 counties in Utah.

Dr. Howe and his staff offer comprehensive dental care including exams, diagnostic X-rays and cleanings, crowns and implant crowns, veneers, professional teeth whitening, non-surgical periodontal therapy, and root canal treatment. When the need for a specialist arises, Dr. Howe works with an excellent team of pedodontists, orthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and endodontists who coordinate with Dr. Howe in your treatment.

Dr Howe was very thorough, patient, and responsive when seating a new crown for an implant. It took some time to shave and shape it to the right proportions but he really made the effort to get it right the first time. I really appreciate his whole office. Wonderful hygienists, receptionist, and practice.

Dr Howe is wonderful dentist! I have never felt rushed from too many people to see him.. He's a straight shooter and has always answered amy concerns I've asked. I feel very confident and at ease when I'm in the chair. The entire staff are professional and yet personable with every patient!! Thank you Liz, Dr. Howe and all of you behind the curtain. Dar. Howe is awesome. The dental hygienist, Tracie is another story. Very rough and brutal on the cleaning and not personable at all! I never want her to clean my teeth again.

We became patients of Dr. Howe in 1986/1987, and have always received exemplary care from him, as well as from his staff. He is very professional, yet he is a dear friend, with a wonderful sense of humor. He is the most gentle, "painless" dentist, always . I was employed by, and assisted three different dentists in past years, and Dr. Howe is the best of the best! I love Dr. Howe! The dental assistant (sorry I didn't get her name) was very thorough and answered all my questions and gave me good advise! I am 723 years old and have all but one of my original teeth. That was pulled when I was 16. I give a lot of credit to Dr. Howe for my teeth doing so well! He has been my dentist for over 20 years

I was pleased with how promptly the office staff returned my call and how quickly they scheduled me for a much needed procedure. When I arrived early for my appointment I was cheerfully greeted by staff and made comfortable in a room to await the dentist. I was impressed with how "on-hands" Dr. Howe is and how informative and helpful he is. It looks like he will be the new dentist for my family.
